One of my favorite quotes has to do with character, written by Abigail Van Buren, better known as "Dear Abby". She said:

"The best index to a person's character is how he treats people who can't do him any good, and how he treats people who can't fight back."

While this quote is about people, I believe it represents how we treat animals as well. I also believe Victoria Principal would agree with this statement, and her latest gift of philanthropy supports this. But first, a little backstory about a man and his dog.

U.S. Marine Corporal Jonathan Cavender of Sugarland, Texas served for two years in Iwakuni, Japan as half of a certified explosive team that conducted searches, helped detect explosives and were responsible for security at the Marine Corps Air Station. The other half of this team was Military Working Dog Maxi, a Belgian Malinois who specialized as an Improvised Detection Dog. It is estimated that MWD Maxi, as well as each military dog that served, saved approximately 150-200 service members' lives.

Our military service working dogs are extraordinarily self-aware and intelligent living beings that are chosen to go to war and protect the well-being of our service men and women. They have no choice in the matter. They do not have the luxury of volunteering. Instead, they are chosen, trained, and then in an exemplary example of courage, devotion and loyalty, they risk their lives every day to protect ours. These dogs rise to the occasion and perform the duties asked of them without protest or complaint.

They are sent to war zones where military dogs are considered equipment. There is currently no budget for bringing this "equipment" back to the United States when their tour of duty is over, so until the military revises their status of military service dogs, they will remain overseas while their human team members return home.

That is the case with Maxi, who had to stay in Japan after Cpl. Cavender was re-stationed at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas.

To break up this team and separate a man from his dog is unimaginable and unspeakable, but it was doomed to stay that way until Victoria Principal heard about this heart-breaking situation.

Victoria said, "From the moment I read Maxi's story and saw the picture of her young self with her "soldier partner", and then the more recent picture of her graying muzzle and saddened eyes, I could not imagine her not being allowed to live out the remainder of her life here with her fellow soldier. I can't thank Maxi in person for her dedicated service to our country, but I can show my gratitude by bringing her home to live out the reward she deserves. All soldiers deserve to come home when they complete their tour of duty. Well done, Maxi!"

Maxi was flown to the U.S. and reunited with Cpl. Cavender on August 27th. He will formally adopt MWD Maxi, ensuring her retirement in the U.S. and her reintegration into a loving, forever home after a lifetime of service to her country.

MWD Maxi's reunion is made possible by the American Humane Association, Mission K9 Rescue, and the United States War Dog Association. Her return was completely funded by Lady V.

Victoria has done her part to give this story a happy ending. Now she is asking all her fans to do their share.

"I implore each of you to contribute a dollar or more to bring these wonderful soldiers home. And write to your Congressman or Congresswoman to give our military dogs the treatment they deserve," she said. "Bring these brave soldiers home."

This story of a man and his dog is just another example of Miss Principal stepping up when the need is great and the outlook bleak. She didn't have to do it, but she did. Victoria is a woman of great character, and my respect for her just continues to grow. Here is a great video of MWD Maxi reuniting with Cpl. Cavender and at the bottom of a picture! Enjoy

A few days ago I was about to post that I hadn’t heard anything about the new “Dallas” recently. As you probably know, I’m referring to the remake of this classic series starring Miss Victoria Principal, and not the original itself.

Then I saw where the show was about to start the second half of its season so I decided to wait until after it premiered again before I posted on the topic.

I figured I would give the show one more try, to watch it again and see if my opinion about it improved or if the show itself improved so I could post about it in a more positive light.

So I did, watch it that is. But I can’t, write positively about it.

“Dallas” belongs to Lady V. When Miss Principal was on the screen as Pam Ewing, I was transfixed. I couldn’t take my eyes off her also couldn’t wait until the following week so I could see her again. It’s hard to put into words how I feel about Victoria’s portrayal of Pam, but it’s like she brings Pam to life so sincerely and easily that I almost believe she’s a real woman and not just a character on TV.

It takes an amazing actor to be so realistic and influential. But Victoria managed to do it week after week on the original “Dallas” … the REAL “Dallas”. This new version is so lacking that I can’t even begin to describe all the ways it comes up short.

On the other hand, I could go on and on and on about Victoria’s “Dallas”, but I’ll save that for another post.

I know many, if not most, of her fans feel the same way. So the way I'd like to keep it on this site is to write about the REAL “Dallas.

You know the one!

This has GOT to be the sweetest picture of Lady V that I can ever remember seeing. I mean, look at that adorable little dog sitting on her lap. Victoria's dog Mei Ling looks so happy, and why shouldn't she be, with Victoria as her owner. Miss Principal looks happy too, and I believe part of that is because of where she's sitting.

But I'm getting ahead of myself. Let me back up a little.

One of Victoria's fans was recently enjoying Legacy Park in Malibu when she happened to see Lady V herself walking her dog. I would have been so excited I would have been unable to speak, but this lucky fan waited next to Victoria's bench and DID manage to speak and ask her if she could take her picture. Always gracious and kind to her fans, Victoria agreed and this charming photograph of Lady V with Mei Ling is the adorable result.

You may be wondering why there's a bench in Legacy Park with Victoria's name on it. I'd better explain that too.

A while back the City of Malibu realized the need for a clean water system for its five Coastal Habitat Regions, specifically, Malibu Creek, Malibu Lagoon and the world-famous Surfrider Beach. I don't need to remind you how committed Miss Principal is to the environment, and since her own community was the focal point of this ecologically-friendly project, it was a no-brainer that she would be front and center when it came to saving and protecting these areas.

So it was no surprise when Lady V offered her full support of the project and became a Founding Member and Legacy Steward in the Leadership Circle to make this dream a reality and create this gift of a healthy environment for her friends, neighbors and community. Thus, Legacy Park was born.

Constructed in the heart of Victoria's hometown, the stunning 17-acre park is the centerpiece of Malibu. It features state-of-the art technology and as a cutting-edge park, promises far-reaching civic, environmental and educational benefits for the residents of Malibu, visitors to California and for generations to come. So of course Victoria would be a part of this.

The bench with Miss Principal's name on it is to acknowledge and honor her involvement in the creation of and ongoing preservation of the Park and all it does for Malibu.

Some of the ways that Legacy Park has been described are that it's an environmental learning experience for children of all ages; it's home to five coastal habitats and Southern California's only coastal prairie; its an oasis; its an environmental cleaning machine for the ocean; it's the heart of Malibu; and it's one smart park.

Doesn't that sound like just the coolest place ever? Apparently it is, as visitors to the park make it one of Malibu's favorite places in Southern California. Lady V must think so too, as she's know to walk Mei Ling there every chance they get. And for one very lucky fan, she got the surprise of a lifetime and here's the picture to prove it.

Thank you for sharing this with us, and if you're ever as fortunate as this fan, we hope you'll tell us about your experience as well.

The past few days have been so much fun! A group of lady friends and I went camping, leaving the men-folk and children behind, and it was absolutely incredible. We hiked, canoed, danced around the campfire and told ghost stories and, of course, we ate. Lots of chicken, beanie-weenies and S’mores were consumed on our trip. I’d almost forgotten how much fun it is to sleep in a tent and swim in a crystal blue lake surrounded by mountains and pine trees.

I can’t tell you about my trip without also telling you that my thoughts went to Lady V many times during this adventure. As I think we, as her fans know, Victoria both loves and appreciates the outdoors and nature and I wouldn’t be one bit surprised to learn she spent some time outside herself over the past few days. Whether it be on the beach, on a trail in the woods, riding her horse, or just hanging out in the yard, I believe Miss Principal spends as much time as she can with nature, and I so love that about her.

I’d give anything if Lady V could be one of my “lady friends” and join us on our next adventure in the wild. I’m not holding out hope but still, knowing we both love being outdoors so much is just another one of the things that makes me feel close to Victoria.

Happy Trails!

It seems like so many of my posts this summer are about the forest fires in California. In fact, just one post is too many. I’m sad to say, the beautiful forests in that state are once again burning.

Victoria Principal is, no doubt, incredibly concerned about these fires as they force people to evacuate their homes, many of which were destroyed as they burned to the ground. The devastation is indescribable.

You may remember me posting this before, probably when there was another rash of forest fires, but it bears mentioning again under the circumstances. Anyway, last year Lady V contributed above and beyond by funding a new mobile technology in conjunction with TreePeople, which enables people to do their part simply by sending a text message ~~ just TREE to the number 80888 to donate $10 to TreePeople’s fire prevention and restoration efforts.

Victoria’s technology also allows people to volunteer with hands-on assistance by texting TREE to number 51555, then your full name and e-mail address.

It’s hot and dry out there and we need to watch out for each other. I feel like Victoria is watching out for her friends in neighbors in Southern California with her wonderful gift.

Thanks, Lady V!

I love when I chat with a friend that is also a fan of Victoria. It’s always fun to share a like interest with others who appreciate everything about Miss Principal and enjoy swapping our favorite Lady V stories.

Recently I was talking with my friend Amelia who lives in Chattanooga, Tennessee. She also first became aware of Victoria when she portrayed Pamela Barnes Ewing in “Dallas” and has been following her ever since. To be honest, that seems to be the way most of us Victoria fans first learned about her.

Amelia went on to tell me she tried Lady V’s Reclaim Botanical 90-day challenge along with me and just as I’ve done, has continued using these anti-aging products because of how fantastic they are. Amelia then caught me off-guard when she asked which one of Miss Principal’s beauty products I like best. She said I could choose only one.

Talk about a challenge! I’ve used Victoria’s products for years and each time something new comes out, I like it better than the last item I tried.

But if I absolutely, positively had to pick just one thing ~~ one single thing ~~ (and Amelia gently made it clear I had to pick one) I would have to say it’s Principal Secret Reclaim Hydrating Complex Emergency Rescue. This stuff is undeniably amazing.

Now, especially, during the hot days of summer when the sun sucks every bit of moisture from my skin and leaves it feeling parched and thirsty, I apply just a dab of this stuff and immediately, it’s like I have new skin.

That sounds silly, I know, but it’s the best way to describe what it does for me, and why it’s my favorite. I’m a fanatic about hydrating my skin, not just because of the benefits moisturizing does but mostly, because of the way it makes my skin feel. It makes it feel incredible.

So I say to my friend Amelia, that’s my answer and without any hesitation, I’m sticking to it

I haven’t written about “Dallas” for a while and to be honest, I’ve missed sharing my love for this classic, iconic TV show. You know how we have comfort foods that we turn to when we want to connect with something familiar? Well, “Dallas” is my comfort TV show and Pam Ewing is my comfort character.

That shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone who knows that I consider myself Victoria Principal’s most ardent fan. Well, one of her most anyway. And like most people, I immediately think of Lady V whenever I think of “Dallas”. The role of Pam Ewing seems to have been written with Victoria in mind. I don’t know if it really was, but I can’t imagine anyone else in the world stepping into that role and bring Pam to life as well as Victoria did.

I’m going to make this post kind of short because my popcorn is ready and I’m going to spend the afternoon lost in my comfort TV show with my comfort character.

Some things never change.

I’m embarrassed to admit this, but here goes. Too often, when watching the news, a story comes on that just doesn’t seem all that important so I don’t pay much attention to it when I really, really should. I mean, “Save the Bees” sounds more like the title of a children’s storybook that a national crisis.

This was the case until I heard that Victoria Principal was involved, and then my ears perked up and I began to see what it was all about. I learned that Lady V had once again gone above and beyond for the sake of our planet and is doing what she can to make a difference. And once again, I’m reminded why she is my hero. I had lots of questions, and now I have some answers.

So what, exactly, is going on here? In a nutshell, honey bees are quickly and consistently disappearing in our country, putting $15 billion (that’s BILLION) worth of fruits, nuts and vegetables at risk. The list is long but it includes apples, cucumbers, broccoli, onions, grapes, pumpkins, carrots, avocados and almonds. This is food we eat every day, food that keeps us alive, and if you’re like me, you’ve never considered what our diet and nutrition would be like without them. I can tell you now, it wouldn’t be good.

How is Victoria involved? The Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) has initiated a campaign to “Save the Bees” and Lady V has joined in to support this vital effort. This is not a frivolous crusade; this is not the title of a children’s storybook; this is a crisis.

Victoria knows this and this week she said, “As of yesterday, I’ve now made a substantial donation and joined in support of the NRDC’s campaign for “Save the Bees”. Without bees, our fruit and vegetable bearing plants and trees will cease to be productive.”

We all learned about bees pollinating flowers and crop vegetables when we were in school and probably didn’t think much about it. Kind of like me ignoring the news when it doesn’t sound all that urgent. Little did we know while sitting in our classrooms that in 2006 beekeepers would alert the rest of the country that bees were vanishing en masse, simply abandoning their hives and never returning. Researchers call this Colony Collapse Disorder and it’s a very real concern. They estimate that nearly one-third of all honey bee colonies in the country have disappeared.

How did this happen? Why are the bees leaving their homes? Why is this such a bad thing?

“The entire ecological chain will be upset, causing a catastrophic failure in our eco system. An enormous part of the bee population has already been wiped out due to several insecticides sold by four major companies causing a scourge of illness to bees that occurred once before in the 18th century.”

So the short answer is, as Victoria stated above, pesticide exposure being a major cause of the bees’ distress and eventual demise.

There’s some good news among all this bad, however. The U.S. Department of Agriculture has allotted $20 million over the next five years for research, but that amount is nowhere near the potential loss of $15 billion (again, that’s BILLION) worth of crops that bees pollinate each year. Unfortunately, the USDA has so far failed to aggressively seek out a solution.

Lady V knows all this and as is characteristic for her, she’s chosen to do something about it. She also knows that if people in this country don’t act now to save the honey bees from extinction, it might be too late and then we’ll really be trouble. No more of your favorite fruits, no more of your favorite vegetables, no more of your favorite nuts. But that’s nothing compared to the break-down and destruction of our eco system.

Victoria made an extremely generous donation to the NRDC in an effort to stop the annihilation of the honey bees. As her fans, I’m once again asking everyone to go to the NRDC site here:

www.nrdc.org

Please remember bees will enormously impact our food supply..more people & less food is a recipe for disaster.

With that in mind make a donation to “Save the Bees”. I have, and so have several of my friends and family. Also, from now on I’m going to try and pay better attention to the news. There’s a reason they’re telling us these things.

July 22nd, 2014

I’m looking out over the most beautiful view you could ever imagine. I’m sitting on a white-sand beach, the clear, warm turquoise water inviting me to come take a swim or search for shells and sand dollars on the ocean floor or just float on the gentle waves lapping the shore.

My family and I are vacationing in one of my favorite places … Gulf Islands National Seashore in the Florida Panhandle.

A love of the sea is another passion I share with Victoria Principal. She has the Pacific Ocean at her doorstep and I live within a few hours away from both the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico, and just a hop, skip and a jump away from the Caribbean.

Lady V has done so much for marine preservation, not just for the water itself, but for all the sea life who call the ocean their home. There is an abundance of fish and mammals who live in and around the oceans all over the world and who are constantly at-risk for one thing or another. Victoria has made it one of her life’s priorities to make our oceans a better place for everybody.

Now, here’s something interesting about the sand on these Gulf Shore beaches. They’re among the whitest and softest in the country and owe their distinctive look to erosion from the Appalachian Mountains over millions of years. Japanese visitors sometimes call it “singing sand” because of the high-pitched sound it makes when walking on it. Victoria was born in Japan, so I wonder if she’s heard this interesting fact.

Maybe someday I’ll have the pleasure of sitting on one of these beaches with Lady V and I’ll be able to tell her. Until then, I think I’m going to jump in the water now!

July 20th, 2014

When I wrote my last post I was thinking about Victoria Principal’s love of several things, one of them being dogs. That got me to thinking about another animal that she has great love and respect for ~~ horses.

A few weeks ago I posted about a race horse named Return of the King who, after earning quite a reputation as a top-notch thoroughbred at Santa Anita Park race track in California, virtually disappeared after the deaths of his owners. For 5 years he was gone without a trace, only to mysteriously turn up at a horse auction in horrendous shape, and be rescued.

He was purchased at the auction by Megan Gaynes of West Coast Equine Hospital where he was treated, rehabilitated and is now healthy, happy and waiting to return to the horse farm where he was born in Lexington, Kentucky. Megan said King is “very sweet and clearly loved and knows human kindness”.

Lady V became aware of King’s story and made a significant contribution to his medical and rehab bills. She did this quietly and without circumstance and her generosity wasn’t even revealed until King’s story became such a media fuss. Otherwise, this would have been yet another example of her quiet philanthropy and ceaseless, selfless giving. It’s true that Victoria was just one of many who have made all this possible for King, but that she got involved at all is so like her and I’m not at all surprised.

What a lot of people don’t know is that Miss Principal herself is a horse owner and has a ranch for thoroughbred rescue. Her love of horses is obvious, and as always, close to her heart.

I’ve attached a couple of pictures of Return of the King with Megan Gaynes of West Coast Equine Hospital as he awaits his trip to Kentucky to live out his life in greener pastures … only these pastures are bluegrass!

Good luck King!

Lady V is a pro at combining her passions and creating something wonderful. She did that very thing when she fully funded several camps in California to children of parents who are on active duty in the military and are away from home. The best part is that there are dogs in the camp to spend time with and comfort the kids while they’re there.

We know that Victoria loves animals. All kinds. And that she’s a pet-owner herself. She also has a strong tie to the military since she was born on an Air Force base to a father who was in the service.

She loves the out-of-doors and being in nature, which how the camps are set up. And she loves being compassionate to those in need.

So I imagine when Miss Principal put all these things together, the answer was obvious.

Children have an extremely difficult time when one or both parents have to leave home to serve their country overseas. Their entire lives change until they’re reunited. Attending these camps gives them the opportunity to talk about their feelings and experiences, be around other kids who are going through the exact same thing, and allows them to express themselves with the help of trained companion dogs who would otherwise have been euthanized.

As you can see, these camps are a win-win situation for everybody involved. Victoria must have known how strong the need was for such an environment, and with her generosity, she made it happen.

I’m not in the military, nor is my husband, but if I was, I would feel so much better knowing my kids had a camp like this to go to. Thank you, Victoria, for once again doing the right thing.

July 9th, 2014

I can’t say enough good things about Lady V’s Reclaim Botanical products. I’ve been using them since last October, right after she introduced this line, and I absolutely love the results I’m seeing. Not just me, but others have complimented my skin and it’s unbelievable how good that makes me feel.

Victoria spent ten years researching and developing these skin care products and the result is amazing. What I love about them is that they’re botanically based, all-natural, vegan and even gluten-free. How cool is that? Totally non-toxic. That’s so important to so many people today and Victoria had the foresight to realize this fact a decade ago.

Imagine using skin products that are derived from plants, flowers, fruits and even marine algae. We don’t have to imagine, because Miss Principal created it by combining nature with science.

I’ll admit, I don’t know anything about the ins and outs of how these products are made or how they do what they do. I just know they’re incredible and they really and truly work. I also know that when I look in the mirror or when my husband compliments the way my skin looks and, I’m thrilled. And that feeling is priceless.

July 4th, 2014

Happy 4th of July Everyone! This is a day for family and friends, picnics and BBQs, hot dogs and watermelon, ice cream and sparklers, concerts and, of course, everybody’s favorite ….. FIREWORKS! Today the whole country comes together to recognize our independence and celebrate the best way we know how ….. by having fun!

I don’t want to be a downer about the holiday, but there are two very important things I want to remind you about, and I’m sure Victoria Principal would do the same if she could reach every single person who will be out and about tonight making some noise.

First, please please please keep your pets inside tonight when the fireworks displays are blowing up in your town. Dogs, cats and other animals can be terrified by loud noises and explosions and when they seem to be right in your front yard, they don’t know what to do or where to turn. Too often pets that are outside get so scared that they run away and are never reunited with their families. This is heart-breaking for both the pet and their owners. Not only that, but they can be injured if they run into exploding firecrackers, bottle rockets, Roman candles and the like. Lady V is such an animal-lover that I feel sure she would agree with me how vital it is to put your pet indoors before the fireworks start going off and let them find their own safe place under the bed.

Second, please please please be responsible with your celebrating tonight. There’s currently another forest fire in Napa Valley, California threatening homes, humans and wildlife. I’m not suggesting this fire was started by a rogue spark from fireworks, but it can happen and DOES happen all too often. As you know, Victoria is a ferocious advocate for preventing wildfires and being extra careful with explosives tonight can go a long way in doing this very thing.

I didn’t mean for this post to turn into a lecture, but I truly believe Miss Principal would want such reminders put out there before the festivities.

So bring Fido and Fluffy indoors and please please, have a GREAT 4th of July!

I’ll admit it: I love television. Always have, always will. Growing up I couldn’t wait until the new issue of “TV Guide” came out so I could read the articles, work the crossword puzzle, and see what my favorite shows were going to be about. I even used a Highlighter to mark the ones I just had to see. And since I’m coming clean about things, I’ll just go ahead and admit that I still do that.

I was always extra excited when Victoria Principal graced the cover of “TV Guide”. She held that honor fourteen times and always looked absolutely gorgeous(1 more and she overtakes the amazing Lucille Ball for the all time record!). But when doesn’t Victoria look gorgeous?

Here are a few of “TV Guide” covers featuring Miss Principal. I tried to pick a favorite, but each one is better than the last. See for yourself and enjoy!

My niece has always wanted to be a model. We, as her family, never discouraged her, but neither did we encourage her. We figured whatever would be, would be, and we would just stand by her no matter what.

Well, my niece has done a little professional modeling now and we couldn’t be happier for her or prouder of her. But as fun and enjoyable as it’s been, she’ll soon set her career aside to attend college and further her education. That was her decision, and we’re thrilled.

When I look at my niece I think of Victoria Principal. No, they don’t look alike, but Victoria worked as a model too when she was just in high school. I honestly can’t imagine Victoria not being a model. I mean, just look at her. She’s physically gorgeous on the outside and she’s also spiritually beautiful on the inside. She’s graceful in every situation and her self-confidence enviable. And that smile! When I look at Victoria Principal I see the very definition of the word “lady”.

My niece’s beauty is without question, but if she grows up to possess the traits and character of Miss Victoria Principal, then she’ll be quite the special woman. But then, look who she had as a role “model”.

June 22nd, 2014

Dear Fans of Victoria Principal … I’m going to share a story that will make you cry a little, cause you to wonder at the mysteries of life, then allow you to smile really big at the happy ending (yes, I’m giving it away). This story could be straight out of a movie written, produced and starring Miss Victoria Principal, as she has a role in the ending being a happy one. But I’m getting ahead of myself. Just read the story for yourselves.

James and Teresa Ortega of Covina, California were part of the horse-racing scene and frequent visitors to the Santa Anita Park race track. They owned several horses, including a beautiful thoroughbred named Return Of The King that they adored and considered a member of their family. Mr. and Mrs. Ortega were fixtures at the race track for many years, turning these trips into joyful family outings whenever any of their horses would run. Return Of The King was the last horse in their stable and the Ortegas visited him often, even on days when he wasn’t scheduled to race.

In November of 2008 the Ortega family were at Santa Anita to watch King run and, in fact, posed with their stunning horse in his “win” photograph after he defeated the other horses. There was obvious love and affection between horse and owner in that picture, and no one could have guessed then what was to become of them all.

Just one month later, on Christmas Eve 2008, James Ortega was brutally murdered in his home, along with 9 members of his extended family. Those included his wife Teresa, father Joseph, mother Alicia, sisters Sylvia and Alicia, brother Charles, sister-in-law Cheri Lynn, and nephew Michael. Almost an entire family was wiped out in the span of a half hour by James Ortega’s sister’s ex-husband. It was reported that the massacre had been carried out in a highly intricate level of plotting, execution and evil hatred.

Return Of The King was scheduled to run at Santa Anita during the week following the murders. The race was dedicated to the memory of the Ortega family and their horse ran for the last time under their ownership. King won that race, but it was a bittersweet victory as the family who loved him and whom he loved in return were not there to share in his success.

As the thoroughbred galloped across the finish line, his jockey tipped his whip to the heavens, convinced he could still feel the Ortegas’ presence with him and with their horse. I choose to believe it’s true that King won that race for the people who cared so deeply for him.

Now for the mysterious part of this story. Return Of The King disappeared for 5 years. He just faded away to who knows where and who knows how. And then one day, a mystery as to how it came to be, 5 years after his final victorious race, King turned up at a horse auction, barely able to walk, visibly suffering and in pain from multiple injuries, both old and new. This is how bad he looked when he was rescued:

Without hesitation, King was bought by Auction Horses Rescue and his life changed forever. The staff at the rescue was broken-hearted over the sight of this once-majestic thoroughbred who was now nearly crippled. But they saw something in him worth saving (as is every creature) and were determined to do whatever needed doing to make King whole again.

Return Of The King was taken in by the West Coast Equine Hospital where he was examined, x-rayed, and diagnosed with severe pedal osteitis with laminitic changes, as well as significant arthritis in his right front ankle, likely involving damage to his suspensory ligament. How he got these injuries will never be known, but the fact that he can be healed from them is what matters.

A farrier at the hospital put shoes and pads on King to protect his damaged feet. With this, pain management, and proper rehabilitation of his health, King is now fully on the road to recovery. Here’s a photograph of him just one week after treatment at the hospital:

The West Coast Equine Hospital is an amazing haven for horses needing all levels of medical care. They are incredibly proficient in their medical knowledge of horses, but they also offer hands-on, tender loving care and compassion to each of their patients. The work they do is often difficult, but they know what they’re doing and never turn away a horse that needs their help.

Auction Horses Rescue is also an outstanding group of people dedicated to saving the lives of these animals who so desperately need their help. Megan, in particular, worked hard to see that King was treated well and it’s so gratifying to see what she accomplished with not only this beautiful horse, but so many others so they won’t be forgotten.

King has become somewhat of a celebrity since his journey began, with major media outlets visiting him at the West Coast Equine Hospital. And this is where we heard about Lady V coming into the picture. Before this made big news Victoria had heard about the story and made a significant contribution to King’s medical bills and rehabilitation, we only found out about her generosity once the story became so huge. Once again, her love and compassion for animals has shone through. It’s true she’s one of many who have made all of this possible for King, but her involvement is so like her that I’m not one bit surprised. Think how many times she has done something similar and it has never gotten any attention!

So what’s to become of King now that he’s been released from the hospital? Thanks to breeder James Keogh, it looks like King is going to retire in, of all places, horse-country Kentucky and best of all, he’ll return to the farm where he grew up. He’ll live out the rest of his days in a pasture of bluegrass taking it easy and pretty much just being a happy horse, as he should be. Mr. Keogh has worried about King during those 5 years he was mysteriously absent, but he couldn’t be happier now to have his gelding back.

And thus, the happy ending I promised.

Return Of The King has indeed returned to the good life, but there are still many, many other horses just like him, and in worse shape, that need immediate medical attention and rehabilitation. If you’re able to make a donation just as Victoria did for King, please visit this site and do whatever you can to help. http://www.auctionhorsesrescue.com/donate.html

So there you have it ~~ tears, the unknown, and finally smiles and a happy heart for King. As I bring this story to a close I have only one more thing to say ….. The End.

Never let it be said that Victoria Principal isn’t community-minded and loyal to those who live and work around her. I’ve posted numerous times on how much she’s done in the past and continues to do for her beloved Malibu where she lives. What you may not know is that Lady V once called Palm Springs home too, and she was just as dedicated to the California desert as she is to the coast.

In 2003 Victoria was honored with a Golden Palm Star on the Palm Springs Walk of Stars because she was once a resident of the city and had a beautiful home there.

Dedications on the Walk of Stars are made on portions of Palm Canyon Drive, Tahquitz Canyon Way, La Plaza Court, and Museum Drive in the middle of town. Here, Golden Palm Stars are embedded in the sidewalk pavement to honor beloved public figures who have been residents of the Greater Palm Springs Area at one time or another. It’s similar to the famous Hollywood Walk of Fame, but specifically pays tribute to its own residents. Miss Principal is one of those special few who are immortalized with a Golden Palm Star.

While Lady V is obviously my favorite with a Golden Palm Star, others who have been honored include: Presidents of the United States, show business personalities, authors, playwrights, screen writers, early settlers, tribal leaders, civic personalities, humanitarians, and Medal of Honor winners.

To be paid homage alongside any one of these people is quite significant, and Miss Principal is equally deserving of this recognition. I’m so proud to be her fan.

If you’re ever in Palm Springs and want to see Lady V’s Star for yourself, you can find it at 155 S. Palm Canyon Drive. Be sure and take a picture and I’ll post it here!

Happy Father’s Day!

Remember the term metrosexual? Well, believe it or not, my own Father jumped on that bandwagon when it first became a “thing” with a little help from me of course.

So when I knew Father’s Day was on the horizon, I turned to Victoria Principal’s anti-aging and beauty line to do part of my shopping for him. And I found the perfect gift.

I bought my Dad a bottle of Principal Secret Reclaim Hydrating Complex Emergency Rescue. I know, right? Now that he’s retired, Dad spends several days a week on the golf course in the hot, dehydrating sun. When he gets home his skin looks and feels like an alligator. No offense, Dad!

But seriously, Lady V knew what she was doing when she created this complex. I put it on my skin and instantly I can feel my skin hydrating and becoming smooth. It’s like my skin just drinks it up. In a clinical study of this moisturizer, 100% of the participants realized improvements after just one application. In fact, they noticed a significant increase in skin moisture instantly, after one hour, after four hours, and even after eight hours. That’s absolutely amazing when you’re talking about alligator skin.

Victoria says it “supercharges” your moisture, and that’s exactly what it does.

Miss Principal didn’t have only women in mind with her products … they’re appropriate for men too, and that’s a good thing when it comes to my Dad because that’s what he’s getting for Father’s Day!

Usually I prefer to watch “Dallas” in the order it aired … Season One, Episode One. Season One, Episode Two. And so on. You get the idea. But sometimes I like to shake things up a bit and watch random episodes without any rhyme or reason.

It’s fun for me to watch Victoria Principal portraying Pam Ewing and try to figure out which season it is just by her appearance.

That might sound like a silly game, but its fun for me and a lot harder than you’d think. Lady V seems to never age.

During that time, the richness and maturity she added to her role of Pam is a joy to watch. Her character’s personality and spirit grew and Victoria’s looks, although different from season to season, only became more beautiful.

So if you need a change of pace this weekend, watch a few episodes of “Dallas” and enjoy Miss Principal at her best!

Graduation season is winding down and young people are going in all different directions to begin their lives in the adult world. My goddaughter is one of those who just earned her degree and is now ready to make a difference.

Over the years I’ve given Brooke many gifts from the Principal Secret line and more recently, from the Reclaim Botanical collection of beauty and anti-aging products. She’s become so enamored with these products that she’s chosen to follow the example set by Victoria Principal and become a Cosmetic Chemist. She wants to do research and development in this field and be totally ecologically-friendly in the process.

In 2003 Lady V became a member of the Society of Cosmetic Chemists because of her own work in creating her product line. Regarding Reclaim Botanical, which she debuted late last year, Victoria said, “I’ve spent 10 years researching and developing Reclaim Botanical. I’ve traveled the world to find the most superior botanical ingredients in combination with unique scientific formulas that are exclusive to this line. This is elegant, high-end, full-spectrum skincare that is always exceptional, affordable and good for both your skin and the earth.”

My goddaughter, Brooke, believes this credo with all her heart and wants to make this her life’s work too. I’m so proud of what she’s already accomplished and know she’ll be successful with this, as well.

Reclaim Botanical offers such wonderful products, and that my goddaughter wants to create something that is also earth-friendly makes me happy.

I think Miss Principal would be happy, too.

And … they’re off! Growing up just outside Churchill Downs, I heard those words a lot as thoroughbreds broke out of the gate and ran for the first jewel in the Triple Crown.

This morning I read an article about this very thing and how Victoria Principal is watching the goings-on in the world of horse racing especially close this year. You see, she’s incredibly excited that a horse from her home state of California is favored to make history next week in just a little over two minutes.

California Chrome won the Kentucky Derby on the first Saturday in May, then went on to win the Preakness two weeks later. Next Saturday, June 7, he has the opportunity and potential (and best odds) to win the Belmont Stakes and become the first Triple Crown winner since 1978 when Affirmed earned that coveted honor.

The article went on to say that Victoria has been a vocal supporter of creating laws that protect race horses, such as California Chrome, from unnecessary drug use. This would include artificial performance enhancing drugs, as well as pain killers that would allow horses to run on injured limbs and cause them further harm.

Miss Principal is extremely pleased and proud that the owners and trainers of California Chrome have chosen to humanely and morally support their horse’s wellness by using non-drug techniques. One of these methods is providing a “nasal strip” that he’ll wear across his nose while he races, which will allow him to breathe more easily, therefore reducing stress on his heart and lungs, reduce the risk of bleeding in the lungs during heavy exertion, and allow for a faster, safer cool-down after the race.

I didn’t know how involved Victoria was in the well-being of horses. It goes without saying (but I’ll say it anyway) that my respect for her has soared. Her compassion for animals is so heart-warming that I just love her even more than ever.

Victoria has a rescue ranch for horses including former racehorses, so her interest in laws protecting such equine is serious and proactive. The article I read quoted Lady V as saying, “I am undeniably exuberant about California Chrome and all he represents.”

Enjoy this video clip of Miss Principal interacting with one of the rescues on her ranch. Someone who works with the horses at the ranch posted this clip on her Facebook page.

I know Miss Principal will be watching the track in New York next Saturday along with the rest of the world as California Chrome strives to give his best performance of a lifetime. And I know she’ll be cheering the loudest when he wins the Triple Crown!

I love learning new stuff about Lady V because, as maybe her biggest fan, I pride myself on knowing a lot about her. But today I read an article that told me some things that I had no idea about and if you can believe it, these things make me love Miss Principal even more than I ever did.

First of all, did you know (I didn’t!) that Victoria is a vegan? How compassionate, smart, and responsible is that? Very, in my opinion. She’s also gluten-sensitive, which so many people are discovering about themselves these days.

So when Victoria did her 10 years of research while formulating Reclaim Botanical, she kept in mind the people who would be using her product who are also vegan and gluten-sensitive; if a person is sensitive to the gluten they eat, their skin may be sensitive as well (something else new to me). Because of this, Reclaim Botanical is one of the few skincare lines that is vegan and also gluten-free. How cool is that?

In this day and age when so many people are aware and conscientious about what they put in and on their bodies, the fact that her skincare line can be used safely and with moral integrity just makes using her products all that much more sensible.

But there’s something else I discovered that makes me so happy. Victoria mindfully chose not to use any animal testing for her skincare products. Many skincare lines not only test on animals but they also use animal ingredients in their products.

I have personally been against this for a long time, but I had no idea that Miss Principal has lobbied for years to stop animal testing and also to stop using animal ingredients in beauty and anti-aging products. I find this to be so important and to realize she didn’t just talk the talk, but also walked the walk when refusing to do as so many others have.

That she considered not only her potential clients in formulating vegan and gluten-free products but animals as well makes me want to say THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU to Lady V. I hope all her fans feel the same way.

If you learn something new and interesting about Miss Victoria Principal, write me here at the site and I’ll post it.

Happy Memorial Day Everyone!

Today we remember and honor the men and women who died while serving in the United States Armed Forces. As I've said in years past I feel certain that Memorial Day holds a special meaning for Victoria Principal since she was born into a military family and grew up on US Air Force bases around the world.

Lady V has been succesful in every aspect of her career and is so thorough and intelligent in everything she does, that even though it is only a small part of her story I imagine growing up around the military taught her valuable lessons she has carried over to her own career.

On that note I want to say Thank You to all of those who have served or are currently serving our country in the United States Armed Forces.

Because of their sacrifice we all have the luxury to do what we love, which for me happens to be sharing my love and knowledge of Victoria Principal.

God Bless America!

I just started spring cleaning in my house and yes, I know I’m late getting around to it so I’m calling it “summer cleaning”. I’ve actually started so late in the year before that I called it “autumn cleaning”.

Unfortunately, I must admit I didn’t get very far before I was sidetracked by Victoria Principal. How could that possibly happen, you must wonder. Did Lady V come to your front door or call you on the phone? Did she stand at your back fence and invite you over for tea?

No such luck.

I opened the storage box that contained my collection of magazines that featured Victoria on the cover. My summer cleaning came to an immediate halt as I began looking through the stacks, then flipping through the pages, and finally, I just gave up and started reading the articles and interviews.

It’s incredible how many times Miss Principal has graced the cover of a magazine, and it’s even more amazing the variety of magazines she’s been featured in. But she’s earned the prestige of a photo shoot and being placed on the cover of these publications. Many are created in the United States, but a great number are international publications.

So there you have my confession. Victoria Principal totally distracted me and once again, my spring cleaning that became my summer cleaning has turned into my autumn cleaning. Don’t be surprised if I don’t get back to it until winter!

My Mother called me last night to thank me again for her Mother’s Day gift this year. She’s really easy when it comes to gifts, as she appreciates everything I give her. This year was no exception, but it took a tiny bit of convincing.

I sent her a beautiful card and inside, a hand-made certificate telling her that she, too, was about to embark on the 90-day challenge using Victoria Principal’s Reclaim Botanical anti-aging and beauty kit.

When she saw it she smiled and kind of laughed. “I’m too old for something like that,” she said, using her I-love-you-but-Mother-knows-best voice. “That’s for young ladies who already have nice skin to work with.”

“Not so fast,” I replied, using my I-love-you-too-but-you-don’t- know-what-you’re-talking-about voice.

I then explained to Mom that when Lady V created Reclaim Botanical, something that took her 10 years to research and perfect, that she had all women in mind.

It was at this point that my husband spoke up in his I-love-you-both-but-this-stuff-is-for-men-too voice. Mom and I just ignored him.

I suspect Victoria would laugh and shake her head at our conversation if she knew what our special “voices” meant. And yes, it was funny but I was also quite serious about how useful these products are for just about anyone.

My husband and I are both right. Miss Principal had pretty much everybody in mind when she created Reclaim Botanical. It’s appropriate for any gender, any skin type and at any stage in life. These products don’t target any one person in particular because the skin problems they go after belong to us all (whether we want to admit it or not).

I know I probably sound like Lady V’s infomercial again, but I can’t help myself when it comes to talking about these amazing products. I wish you could see what they’ve done for me in such a short time.

So whether you took your Mother out to brunch on her special day, gave her flowers, spent the whole day with her or treated her to a “Dallas” marathon at home, I hope it was wonderful for you all. With Victoria Principal’s newest and in my opinion, best, products involved, I know it was great.

I find myself posting about the forest fires in Southern California way too often and sadly, here I am doing it again.

It seems the fires have once more caused evacuations and destroyed homes that have totally burned to the ground. I can only imagine that Victoria Principal is vigilantly watching the progress of these fires as her neighbors to both the north and south are in danger.

I saw on the news where there’s a red flag warning all over Southern California signifying the high risk for wildfires. As fans of Victoria know, she’s a serious proponent for forest fire prevention. With the above-normal temperatures, low humidity levels and fierce Santa Ana winds, additional fires are in genuine danger of starting and spreading.

Last year Lady V took a step toward stopping these fires before they can cause serious damage and devastation. She did this by funding a new mobile technology in conjunction with TreePeople which enables people to do their part simply by sending a text message ~~ just text TREE to the number 80888 to donate $10 to TreePeople’s fire prevention and restoration efforts.

Victoria’s technology also allows people to volunteer with hands-on assistance by texting TREE to number 51555, then your full name and e-mail address.

Now is the time to do what Miss Principal has made possible so we can save our homes. Now that the fires are here. Now that the need is greatest.

Thank you for once again looking out for us, Victoria. And thank you Victoria’s fans for making this technology work.

I talk a lot about “Dallas” on this blog and don’t think I’m not aware of it but I can’t help it ….. I’m a truly obsessed “Dallas” fan. I know you won’t forget, but I’ll remind you anyway and note that I’m talking about the original “Dallas” series, the one that aired from 1978 to 1987 and starred Miss Victoria Principal.

I believe most people today would answer “Victoria Principal” if they were asked who the most popular character on “Dallas” was. I know I would.

What a lot of people might not know is that Lady V appeared in quite a few TV series after she left the drama. Besides “Dallas”, she guest-starred on “The Practice” in 2000 portraying Courtney Hansen.

But not surprisingly, Victoria wasn’t limited to those two dramas. Other shows she guest-starred on were “Just Shoot Me”, “The Larry Sanders Show”, “Home Improvement”, “Family Guy”, “Providence” and “Hawaii Five-0”.

As you can see, Lady V has always been a well-respected and often sought-after actress who appealed to a wide variety of TV viewers. She could do comedy equally as well as drama and if you’ll track down these shows and watch them, you’ll understand why she was … and still is … so very popular.

Now you know why I called myself obsessed!

May 9th, 2014

I’ve been watching some of the later episodes of “Dallas” … you know, the ones starring Miss Victoria Principal. There’s something that I’ve noticed over the years that she was on the show and that is, Lady V absolutely does not age. In fact, she gets more beautiful and more youthful-looking with each passing season.

Pam Ewing goes through many changes throughout her stay on Southfork, but those are mostly played out while she endures battle after battle with the Ewing family. It’s her captivating physical appearance that holds me totally transfixed. That along with her grace, poise and warm, gentle spirit. Those traits absolutely sing Victoria Principal to me.

I honestly don’t know how Victoria did it. Seriously. When the show originally aired, there was no such thing as Reclaim Botanical or even her first product line, Principal Secret. So how she managed to be so gorgeous at the beginning of the series and just as lovely, if not moreso, when she chose to leave “Dallas”, is a mystery to me.

Yes, I’m infatuated with Miss Principal. I love everything about her. How can I not? Take a look for yourself and I promise you’ll fall in love too.

May 7th, 2014

Every now and then my husband likes to surprise me with a day of absolute pampering at my favorite spa. There’s nothing like being totally indulged to renew, regenerate and reinvigorate my spirit, psyche and body. Mission accomplished.

While there, I enjoyed, among other things, a luxurious 2-hour massage and an amazing facial. During the facial, the esthetician complimented my skin several times and asked how I was able to keep it so healthy.

What an opportunity to talk about my favorite person! I told her all about Victoria Principal’s anti-aging and beauty line that she introduced last year, Reclaim Botanical. The young lady was not familiar with the line, so I had a field day telling her all about the products I use to keep my skin healthy, hydrated and youthful.

She was especially interested in Lady V’s sun screen, as she’s about to move to Florida and will be exposed to the hot sun every day. I told her what I use and she said she would definitely order some. I happened to have Victoria’s current catalog for the Reclaim Botanical products in my bag and happily gave it to my new friend.

So you never know when Miss Principal might be a topic of conversation, and to me, that’s always a good thing. I can’t wait until my next day at the spa! Are you reading this, dear husband?

Happy 140th Derby Day! Today is the first Saturday in May and once again, the finest 3-year old thoroughbreds in the world will be vying for the garland of red roses adorning the winner.

Here’s a few interesting facts about this absolutely gorgeous display of flowers: the garland was first introduced in 1896 and consisted of pink and white roses; now, the blanket consists of more than 400 red roses sewn into a green satin backing with the seal of the Commonwealth of Kentucky on one end and the Twin Spires of Churchhill Downs at the other; each garland is also adorned with a single rose, called a “crown”, pointing upward to the center of the garland, symbolizing the struggle and heart necessary to reach the Derby Winner’s Circle. Additionally, the Governor of Kentucky presents the winning jockey with a bouquet of 60 long-stemmed red roses wrapped in 10 yards of ribbon.

Ok, I’m sure that’s more than you’ve ever wanted to know about some flowers, but as a native Kentuckian, this day is more important to me than pretty much every other holiday we celebrate.

When I watch all the attention focused on these horses, I wonder if Victoria Principal is watching as intently as I am. As you probably know, Lady V is a ferocious lover of all animals, and seems to have a special affection for horses.

Some time back I posted a couple of pictures sent to me by a fan of Victoria’s, which have come to be some of my favorite images of her. The fan had taken her daughter to riding lessons at a ranch near Los Angeles and noticed a woman standing close to one of the horses. Not wanting to interrupt, she watched as the woman seemed to communicate with the horse, bonding with it by touching and speaking gently. The fan was so moved by the kinship between the woman and the horse that at first she did realize she was watching Miss Victoria Principal.

This post is long, but I wanted to emphasize how Victoria seems to unwittingly be involved in so many of life’s moments that are good. She doesn’t know how she touches so many of us, but she does, even if it’s just about roses and the horses who wear them.

And with all those flowers waiting at the finish line, no wonder they call it The Run for the Roses. Happy Derby Day everyone!

Tornadoes have once again ravished the Midwest and Deep South. And once more, first responders and volunteers have rushed to the area to rescue and recover victims of the storm.

Some of the most heart-breaking victims are pets … the dogs, cats, bunnies, iguanas and other family members who are displaced and can’t speak for themselves to tell their rescuers how to get home.

Victoria Principal realized that something had to be done, so in true Lady V style, she did it. She made an extremely generous donation to the American Humane Association to support their Red Star Rescue Team. Red Star members conduct search, rescue and sheltering operations, and then provide temporary housing, meals and medical attention to these frightened and sometimes injured creatures.

I’m sure she imagined, as I did, all the families who were frantic to find their beloved pets. The story in my head went from total heart-break to total joy when these people were finally reunited with them.

But it takes money to fund such an operation, and Victoria stepped up to make these efforts possible. She knew the importance of bringing these people together with their pets after such devastation from the tornadoes.

I’ve posted about Miss Principal’s involvement with the Red Star Rescue Team before, after storms swept across the country last fall. Fans of Lady V wrote me to say they were so touched by the story and moved by Victoria’s donation that they wanted to help too, and asked how they could make donations for this very compassionate operation.

Please go to www.americanhumane.org if you’re able to donate to the Red Star Rescue Team. This group has been responding to animals’ needs during tragedies for nearly 100 years and is definitely the real thing. Victoria Principal knows that, and now you do too. Please help if you’re able.

April 27th, 2014

We all have our favorite things to do when we’re not on the job working, chasing after the kids or chauffeuring them to and from all their activities, keeping the house relatively clean (see comment about kids), fixing dinner, writing your thesis, giving the dog a bath and so on and so forth. You know how it is.

So I was intrigued when I saw this question in an interview with Victoria Principal. She was asked:

“What do you do in your spare time?”

Lady V had this response:

“I enjoy writing, not only for professional reasons, but also as a personal pastime. I enjoy being in the water … swimming and water skiing, and I enjoy playing volleyball and hiking.”

Victoria then went on to say:

“One of my favorite things to do, which doesn’t involve a sport at all, is sit down with a cup of tea and have a meaningful conversation with someone I love.”

It’s hard to believe Miss Principal would have enough time to do any of these things, what with how busy she is with her multi-layered career and her philanthropic work. Any one of the things she does would be more than a full-time job for most of us, but then again, Victoria isn’t like most of us.

So the next time you think about Victoria Principal and wonder what she might be doing, you can see there’s any number of pastime activities she could very well be involved in.

Enjoy yourself, Lady V!

Happy Earth Day to All!

I absolutely love Earth Day and seem to enjoy it more and more with each passing year. I believe the reason for this is because as I grow older, I also mature in my appreciation for ecological issues and the environment. It can be something as simple and easy as recycling, or something as involved as donating a large amount of money or hours and hours of volunteer work for a crucial cause, as Miss Victoria Principal has done many, many times in the past.

Putting all that aside for a moment, Earth Day is also the perfect time to get outside (forecast says bright & sunny & 75 degrees where I live!) to explore and enjoy this amazing world we live in. It’s also the ideal time to re-commit ourselves to doing everything we possibly can to keep our planet healthy and habitable.

This is something that is near and dear to Victoria’s heart. She shares her thoughts and ideas about taking care of our Earth at every opportunity, and how we should all be aware and appreciative of this place we call home. The only place we can call home, if you stop and think about it.

Lady V is downright passionate about protecting our planet, and as with all things she is vehement about, Miss Principal leads by example every day in every way and encourages each of us to do the same.

Victoria’s very words say it all:

"My deepest concern is for the planet and every living thing on it. Without a healthy planet, education won't matter, hunger won't matter and science won't matter because we will not survive. Unless we rectify the damage we have done to our land and our oceans, then I truly believe the planet will reclaim itself. If it is true that you reap what you sow, then all of humanity should be very frightened."

As devoted fans of Victoria Principal, let’s follow in her footsteps as she shows her devotion to protecting and saving planet Earth. It can be done, but it’s going to take us all doing our fair share and then some.

Now, fellow fans, get out there and enjoy this exceptionally beautiful springtime and Earth Day 2014!

I have a dog named Scout who I love more than anything in the world ~~ we have a bond stronger than I could ever have imagined possible with a pet. I honestly don’t know what I’d do without this little guy who I absolutely and unabashedly adore.

One of the many wonderful things I like best about Victoria Principal is her deep love and respect for animals too. She’s a dog-owner like so many of us in the United States (lucky dog!) which got me wondering just how many pet dogs there actually are in our country. Are you ready for this? There are approximately 78.2 million pet dogs in the U.S. Wow!

But not everybody is as fortunate as Lady V and I to have dogs we love and who love us back. Especially in times of stress, fear or sadness, Scout has been my saving grace in comforting me and reminding me that I’m not alone in this world. While he’s not officially a Therapy Dog with credentials, he’s done more for me than any mental health care provider could ever accomplish.

Miss Principal apparently knows this as well. She understands what dogs can offer us humans in times of need. I say this because last year she fully funded six summer camps in California for the children of military members who are stationed overseas in a war zone. I can’t even imagine how scary and stressful this is for these kids who have a parent in harm’s way.

These camps allow the children to interact with Therapy Dogs who help them come to terms with what’s happening in their lives. The dogs enable the children to communicate the fear, anger and uncertainty they feel about one of their parents being gone for an extended period of time and are at-risk.

Victoria also knows that attending these camps is an experience the children will never forget. An extra added benefit, and one not to be minimized, is that the camp allows the Humane Society to save the lives of more homeless dogs by training them to be valuable Therapy Dogs.

I love sharing this heart-warming story because it’s such a special thing that Victoria Principal has done. What an amazing woman she is.

You can be amazing too and donate to the Humane Society here: www.americanhumane.org.

I’m excited to say that tomorrow morning my family and I are heading to Florida for a full week of sun, sand and surf. I can’t wait!

It wasn’t that long ago that I didn’t think this would be possible. Just four short years ago the Deepwater Horizon explosion nearly ruined the Gulf of Mexico with massive oil leaks. The water and beaches were at serious risk of being destroyed forever. Marine life was killed and the toll on human life was immeasurable. Something desperately needed to be done.

Victoria Principal is one of the most environmentally concerned people I know of. She’s always one of the first to volunteer and contribute when our planet is put in harm’s way.

When news of the oil leaks broke, Victoria immediately donated $200,000 toward the cleanup effort in the Gulf Coast region. She knew something needed to be done right away if there was any hope for some return to normalcy.

Lady V’s participation brought together two huge environmental non-profits, Oceana and Natural Resources Defense Council in tandem on the cleanup efforts. This was a major accomplishment that had never been done before.

But that’s not all she did. Miss Principal then appeared with other celebrities in a CNN/Larry King-sponsored telethon to support the Gulf Coast Region and the people who lived there. She was on a panel with King, answered phones and spoke with donors for the entire two hours. This telethon raised over $1.8 million.

Thanks to Lady V’s kindness and generosity, my family and I are able to go to the Gulf Shores and know we’ll be building castles on sand free of oil and dead sea life, and will be swimming and snorkeling in water that is clear and clean.

Thank you, Miss Principal. You make my life so much better.

April 10th, 2014

Victoria Principal was once asked, “What is most fulfilling for you … acting, skincare, or writing?”

Knowing how much Lady V loves all of these things, and knowing how good she is at them all, I couldn’t imagine how she would be able to answer such a question.

Acting: Victoria has acted in all sorts of genres, starting at age 5 in a commercial and eventually earning a Golden Globe nomination. But the role she’s most famous for is that of the amazing Pamela Barnes Ewing in one of the most popular primetime dramas ever to air on TV. What an accomplishment!

Skincare: Miss Principal created the amazing beauty and anti-aging product line called Principal Secret. It was successful from the beginning and earned Lady V membership in the prestigious Society of Cosmetic Chemists. She then spent 10 years researching her most recent product line called Reclaim Botanical and from all accounts, it will be even more successful than the first. Very impressive!

Writing: Victoria has authored 4 best-selling books on health, beauty, and skincare, all topping the New York Times Bestselling List. These books are go-to for women all over the world and are read and re-read because of the wealth of information she shares. Women trust her and her writing brings her closer to her fans.

Lady V’s actual answer to the question was, “I’m committed to all three; whichever one I am doing in that moment is my favorite. I feel very luck that I have a number of things that I enjoy doing and they also pay the rest.”

So there you have it. A question I couldn’t possibly answer, Miss Principal succinctly nails it. How cool is she?

April 6th, 2014

Victoria Principal’s portrayal of Pamela Barnes Ewing on “Dallas” is not just iconic … it’s absolutely one of the best roles for a female EVER. Of course, not just any actor could have carried this off, but Lady V made the part her own and has carried the image of “Pam” with her since she left the show in 1987.

I especially love Victoria’s representation of Pam in the early episodes when we were first introduced to her and she established her place within the Ewing Family and on Southfork Ranch. It was fascinating how she just came in ingratiated herself to all the other characters, and not always in a good way. No matter what her intentions were, Pam always had her own agenda when becoming acquainted with each member of the family.

In Season One, Episode Two, “Lessons”, Pam decides that befriending her new niece, Lucy, just may be her ticket to acceptance by the Ewing family. That wasn’t an easy task since her father was a mortal enemy to the Ewings and except for her husband, not everyone was totally accepting of her.

By gaining Lucy’s confidence, Pam realizes she has at least one ally who might be on her side in becoming a real Ewing. But will Lucy STAY a friend to her newly acquired aunt?

You’ll have to watch “Dallas” to find out! That will be a pure joy, as Victoria Principal brought her very best to the series, and that’s apparently in every single episode she appears in.

Now, on to episode three!(For maybe the 20th time:) )

April 2nd, 2014

Believe it or not, it’s April! Seems like just yesterday, we were shoveling snow in our driveways. Wait. I guess in some parts of the country people ARE still shoveling snow.

It’s also hard to believe that it’s been a full six months since I started Victoria Principal’s Reclaim Botanical anti-aging challenge.

And I have a confession to make: I wasn’t sure it was going to deliver as well as it promised. Yes, yes, yes I know how amazing Lady V’s products are and how they work just as they’re described on her site, but I had some serious skin problems going on with my face. I was honestly doubtful anything would work.

But I’ve got to say, there’s a reason Victoria is a member of the Society of Cosmetic Chemists and that’s because she knows what she’s talking about when creating her products.

After using Reclaim Botanical for just six months, I feel like my skin looks fantastic! Of course, I plan to continue using these products because I know they’re not only helping me look younger, they make me feel better too.

Miss Principal poses the question: “Would You Prefer to Look 10 Years Younger? Or 10 Years Better?”

Six months later I can tell you … both! And I’m heading in the right direction. I can’t wait to look in the mirror in six more months!

Beautiful women come and go. I mean, just look at magazine covers today and it’s very likely you won’t recognize who is on the cover. Then there are some who have such classic beauty that they’re looks will never fade away or become out of style.

The woman who most exemplifies this is Miss Victoria Principal. Her beauty is elegant, eternal, and ever-lasting. Just look at some of the magazine covers she’s graced over the years and you’ll see what I’m talking about.

There just aren’t enough words to describe Victoria, but here are some of my favorites and ones that truly ARE Lady V … graceful, refined, glamorous, exquisite, alluring, gorgeous, charming, stylish, dazzling, stunning, classy and quite simply, beautiful.

Here are a few magazine covers featuring Miss Principal. I hope you enjoy looking at them as much as I do. If you have one of your own that you’d like to share, just send it to me and I’ll be happy to post it.

Here’s to beauty!

March 27th, 2014

It was actually hot today, and after the winter we’ve had it felt wonderful. The sun was shining and there wasn’t a cloud in the sky. I stayed outside all day and just soaked it up.

But I have a confession to make. I totally forgot to use sunscreen or moisturizer before I went out and I paid for it later. Those are a couple of Victoria Principal’s “absolute musts” when spending any amount of time outdoors. She knows how the sun can be a killer ~~ literally, a killer ~~ on our skin so we must do everything possible to protect it.

There are lots of sunscreens and moisturizers out there, but the best available is Lady V’s Principal Secret.

I’m always faithful about using Miss Principal’s products every day, but this morning I was so anxious to get outside and into the sunshine that I just overlooked it. That won’t happen again.

Now, let’s all get out there and enjoy this beautiful spring weather but remember to do it safely, just as Victoria does.

March 22nd, 2014

Spring is finally here! It’s been a long, cold, snowy winter but it looks like we’re on track now for some beautiful weather. Spring means spring break and spring break means The Gulf Coast!

Thousands of young people are putting college behind them and heading south for a week to enjoy the warm weather, the sandy beaches, and the clear water of the Gulf of Mexico.

Not so long ago this wouldn’t have been possible. In fact, after the disastrous oil spill in the Gulf in 2010, it was questionable whether or not the beaches and water would ever be inhabitable again, by either humans or marine life.

Fortunately for us all, there are those who care enough about our environment to commit themselves to saving our oceans and beaches with their unwavering dedication and generosity.

First to come to mind is Miss Victoria Principal. Have you ever noticed how Lady V is so often the first to help when our planet is in need? She donated money to the cleanup effort in the Gulf Coast region, and brought together two huge environmental non-profits, Oceana and natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) to work together for the first time ever to save and restore the area.

Victoria also appeared with other celebrities on a CNN-sponsored telethon to support the Gulf Coast cleanup. She appeared on a discussion panel with Larry King, answered phones, and spoke with donors to raise over $1.8 million.

I know I say this a lot, but I’m constantly amazed by the way Miss Principal gives so freely of her time, talent and money to dire ecological challenges such as the cleanup efforts in the Gulf. My admiration for her as a philanthropist never ceases and only increases every time I hear of something else she’s done to save our planet.

It’s because of Victoria and others like her that legions of college students will be able to enjoy their much-deserved spring break in the Gulf Coast states.

Thank you Lady V!

March 18th, 2014

St. Patrick’s Day is over but the fountains that I pass everyday are still flowing, squirting, and spewing with green water. I love it! Green, green, everywhere it’s green.

That should be Lady V’s motto because of her long-held beliefs that “going green” is the best way to live, in harmonious accord with our planet. Victoria Principal has championed ecological issues for as long as I can remember, and she’s not showing any signs of changing her viewpoint.

One example: last year Miss Principal unveiled her newest line of beauty and anti-aging products, Reclaim Botanical. Her line is called eco-friendly for a good reason, and that’s because she spent 10 years creating products that are not only completely safe for us but also kind to our planet. The ingredients in her products are derived from plants, flowers, fruits, and even marine algae. Totally cool and totally green.

In Reclaim Botanical, Lady V designed the ultimate synergy of nature and science and the result is the best skin care formulations that modern technology can offer, combined with the best the world has to offer. And she did it all with the most gentle hand possible so as not to do any damage to our Earth.

I love Victoria’s quest to make our collective home a better place for us ALL. It will take the efforts of everyone if we’re going to make a difference. Lady V is doing her part … let’s all do ours too.

March 16th, 2014

As you know, I’m not a fan of the new “Dallas”. In fact, I think it’s one of the worst attempts at a prime time drama that has ever been shown on television. I honestly can’t believe it’s in its third season. Who is possibly watching this mess of a show?

Now the people behind this remake have reached a new low in trying to attract viewers. I’m going to leave out most of the details because I don’t want anyone to think I approve of this gimmick by promoting it.

It was announced that a new bourbon has been created as a tie-in with the series. The character of J.R. Ewing’s drink of choice was bourbon, so somebody thought it would be appropriate to produce the real thing and sell it in states across the South and Midwest immediately, then nationwide and overseas by the end of the year.

I’m no prude. Far from it. I enjoy a drink or two on occasion and certainly don’t judge others who do as well. But here’s the kicker. Larry Hagman, who portrayed Southfork patriarch J.R. Ewing, was a seriously involved alcoholic and, in fact, required a liver transplant because of the damage done to his own live by excessive alcohol consumption. Mr. Hagman nearly died from his addiction and here the people behind the new “Dallas” think it’s a good idea to promote and financially benefit from the sale of alcohol.

Executive Producer of “Dallas” Cynthia Cidre, who is also a writer on the show (nothing to brag about!) said, “It’s exciting to have the show and J.R.’s legacy represented to the public in a new way.”

By encouraging alcohol consumption directly related to and named after a man who, in real life, nearly died because of his addiction to alcohol? This kind of morally irresponsible, publicity hungry stunt is as disgusting as the show itself. It’s hard to believe that a person whose career is based on being creative couldn’t come up with a more acceptable way to pimp out her show. Then again, maybe it’s not so hard to believe. Why the people behind this horrible series think this is a good idea is beyond me.

Larry Hagman portrayed J.R. Ewing from 1978-91 and again from 2012-13. He died in November 2012 at age 81.

Alcohol was not his friend.

Sometimes people ask me what it is about Victoria Principal that I like so much. Of course, there’s no short answer to that question because there’s so much I admire about her. So I start listing the qualities that make her so attractive to me and just can’t stop at any one thing. But when pressed, I have to say it’s her total devotion to Mother Earth.

A while back Miss Principal was interviewed for “The Huffington Post”. She was asked: “What social or political cause are you most passionate about?”

Her response only confirmed my belief that she is undoubtedly one of the strongest and most devoted advocates for saving our planet there has ever been.

Victoria said, “My deepest concern is for the planet and every living thing on it. Without a healthy planet, education won’t matter, hunger won’t matter, and science won’t matter because we will not survive.”

She then went on to add, “Unless we rectify the damage we have done to our land and our oceans, then I truly believe the planet will reclaim itself.”

Wow. Those are some strong words, but Lady V means every one of them. She stands by her credo and lives by what she believes. She is truly a woman who walks the walk and talks the talk.

So whenever someone asks me what I most admire about Miss Principal, her love for our Earth would be the answer. I think we should all follow her lead and devote ourselves to making our planet the very best it can be.

Today marks the third year in a row I’ve told the following story, and I plan to continue this tradition as long as it is appropriate and meaningful.

A woman named Susie has been a long-time fan of Andy Gibb. All Victoria fans know about their amazing love. Once again this year Susie has visited Andy’s grave to pay her respects on the 26th anniversary of his untimely and tragic death in 1988.

Each time Susie has gone to his grave, there were flowers from Victoria … 11 red roses and 1 white rose. This year was no exception. More roses, 11 red and 1 white.

We’ve tried to figure out what the meaning of this combination of flowers is and to be honest, have absolutely no idea.

And we may never know. Victoria and Andy had such an amazing love story. Their adoration for each other was indisputable and under very different circumstances, we like to think they would still be together today.

One thing we DO know, however, is that Victoria loved Andy with all her heart and soul and as evidenced by the roses, she still does. For all of us who are fans of Lady V, and as Susie’s yearly trek to the cemetery shows, for fans of Andy Gibb as well, their love story ended way too soon.

Since initially posting this story, several other fans of both Victoria and Andy have written to say they, too, went to the cemetery to pay their respects and saw the flowers … 11 red roses and 1 white rose.

Please, if anybody knows the significance of this heart-felt gift Miss Principal leaves for the love of her life, please let me know. I’m sure I’m not the only one who is sure the meaning is quite touching.

Thank you again, Susie, for sharing these photographs with us. And Rest in Peace, Andy Gibb.

Lady V has had several careers (so far) in her lifetime. Of course, the one that made her a worldwide star and is the first thing most people think of when they hear her name is that of actress. Unfortunately for Victoria’s fans who love her work, she’s no longer in that field and whether or not she’ll ever return to acting is known only by her.

More than one fan of Miss Principal has written to me asking when Victoria first knew she wanted a career in show business.

Since there’s obvious interest out there, I decided to answer on this site in Lady V’s own words so everyone will know how it came about.

“There’s no one memory,” Victoria said when asked this very same question. “I do know that when I was a little girl in what’s now called the first grade, we were supposed to say what we wanted to be when we grew up.”

Miss Principal continued, “And I said that I wanted to be an actress.”

“In the second grade,” she went on, “I was asked once again what I wanted to be when I grew up and I said ‘I am an actress’. So apparently at a very young age I had made that decision.”

She then concludes, “And I did make my first commercial at age five.”

So there you have it. Our very own Lady V was just a very young girl when she knew that she was destined to perform and entertain and be the tremendous actress that she became.

Maybe someday Victoria Principal will again grace us with her talent on the screen. Or maybe not. We can only hope.

Last night I picked a “Dallas” episode at random to watch while I was getting ready for bed. As it happens, I picked one of my favorites, “Barbecue” from Season 1 starring Miss Victoria Principal, also one of my favorites. In this episode, she really shines.

“Barbecue” takes place at the annual Ewing picnic, which is held on the grounds of Southfork Ranch. I love when the Ewing clan throws a bash … any kind of bash. Anything to showcase Lady V gets my attention. I enjoy the fancy schmancy wing-dings as much as I get caught up in the more casual parties, such as the barbecue.

But this is no ordinary gathering of friends and family. In this episode, the pregnancy of Pamela Barnes Ewing is announced. Victoria Principal is absolutely glowing as Pam and I honestly don’t know when I’ve seen Lady V look more beautiful. And, of course, there were her clothes.

The reactions of all the characters in this episode are perfectly played and for a minute, I find myself at the actual barbecue, wishing Pam well and highly anticipating the arrival of her baby. Will the child tend to favor the Ewing side of the family or Pam’s heritage, the Barnes family?

Knowing how these two clans get along (or don’t), Pam’s pregnancy only increases the tension between them and sends one character straight to the bottle. I won’t say who in case anyone is watching “Dallas” on their first go-around, but Victoria as Pam is absolutely … oh wait, I wasn’t supposed to say.

I love everything about the way Victoria portrays Pam. What did you think of this episode?

The re-created version of “Dallas” is due to start its third season soon (or maybe it already started; I don’t know and don’t really care) but I can tell you right now that I won’t be watching. I can’t speak for Victoria Principal, but I seriously doubt that she will be watching either.

The original “Dallas” was an exciting trail-blazer and a classic prime time drama. This poor excuse of a re-make is none of those things.

I’ve read so much about the producers wanting Victoria to join the new series. She was probably flattered, somewhat, but she also had to know this was so not what she wanted or needed in her life.

Yes, it would have been wonderful for fans of Lady V to see her on our TV screens every week, just like it was when the series originally aired. But because this re-made version is so lacking in quality and prestige, I’m thankful that she’d didn’t choose to be a part it.

When the series first aired, people talked about it constantly. In fact, when “Dallas” debuted on April 2, 1978 it was a five-part miniseries. There were no plans for it to expand or continue; however, the show was so popular with the viewing audience, it was subsequently turned into a regular series and broadcast for an additional 13 seasons after the initial miniseries.

To be honest, I’m surprised that the re-make is in its third season … I find it to be that bad. Of course, I’m constantly comparing it to the original, to Lady V’s version, so maybe that’s not really far to judge it so harshly.

But check out these facts:

Victoria’s “Dallas”, as I like to call it, aired 357 episodes (WOW!) and was one of the longest lasting full-hour dramas in American TV history. A 1908 episode was the second highest rated prime time telecast ever. In 2007, “Dallas” was named in Time magazine’s “100 Best TV Shows of All-Time”. I just don’t see any of the above happening with the new, lesser version.

When Miss Principal left the show after the tenth season, it was her decision and hers alone. She chose not to renew her contract and while I would have loved to see her continue, I look at how I’ve benefited from her other endeavors and then it’s not so bad.

I didn’t mean to write such a long post, but when I start talking about “Dallas”, Pam Ewing and Victoria Principal, I could go on and on all night. But I won’t.

I’ll just say this: instead of tuning in to the “Dallas” re-make, why not put a DVD of the original “Dallas” into your player and see the real thing. Lady V, you’ll always be the best.

While much of the nation is still covered with snow, California is suffering from a severe drought. In fact, according to Governor Jerry Brown, “the worst drought that California has ever seen since records began about 100 years ago”, has become even worse.

As I’m sure Victoria Principal’s fans know, she is a serious proponent for ecological issues, and so very often that means forest fire prevention. With the unbelievable dryness in her home state, trees are in genuine danger of igniting and spreading.

Last year Miss Principal took a step toward stopping these fires dead in their tracks, hopefully before they can do any serious damage. She did this by funding a new mobile technology in conjunction with TreePeople which enables people to do their part simply by sending a text message ~~ just text TREE to the number 80888 and donate $10 to TreePeople’s fire prevention and restoration efforts.

Victoria’s technology also allows people to volunteer with hands-on assistance in the Santa Monica Mountains by texting TREE to number 51555, then your full name and e-mail address.

It seems no matter what the need, Lady V is willing to step up and be first in taking care of this country, of this planet. She obviously has a deep love for California’s forests and in keeping them alive, healthy and productive. She asks us all to be proactive in stopping any fires before they get out of hand and do irreparable damage and cause death and destruction.

This drought is extremely dangerous, but if we all do what we can and follow Victoria’s example, maybe we can do some good in keep our homes safe.

Thank you Victoria, and thank you Victoria’s fans!

I really enjoy this Victoria Principal fan site. One of the things I like best is passing on a significant fact about Lady V that the fans who visit here might not know about.

So here’s one of those facts: In 2003, a Golden Palm Star was dedicated to Miss Victoria Principal on the Palm Springs Walk of Stars.

The Palm Springs Walk of Stars are portions of Palm Canyon Drive, Tahquitz Canyon Way, La Plaza Court, and Museum Drive in the middle of Palm Springs, California. Here, Golden Palm Stars are embedded in the sidewalk pavement to honor beloved public figures who have lived in the Greater Palm Springs Area. It’s similar to the famous Hollywood Walk of Fame, but specifically pays tribute its own residents.

These Golden Palm Stars are dedicated to those who have once called this beautiful desert oasis their home. Victoria had a beautiful home in Palm Springs and is one of those residents the Walk of Stars immortalizes.

She’s in good company, as others who have been honored with a Golden Palm Star include: Presidents of the United States, show business personalities, authors, playwrights, screen writers, early settlers, tribal leaders, civic personalities, humanitarians, and Medal of Honor winners.

To be paid homage alongside any one of these people is quite significant. Miss Principal is so deserving of this recognition, and I’m proud that she has a Golden Palm Star.

If you’re even in Palm Springs and want to see Lady V’s Star for yourself, you can find it at 155 S. Palm Canyon Drive. Be sure and take a picture!

Today I started re-reading one of my very favorite books of all time, Lady V’s “The Body Principal”. I can’t tell you how much I love this book.

Obviously I’m not alone, as “The Body Principal” spent 12 weeks on the New York Times Best Seller List when it debuted. Another high point for Victoria Principal that I want to mention, “The Body Principal”, which was named in the general non-fiction category, was the first “Advice, How-To, and Miscellaneous” number one best seller. Very impressive, Miss Principal!

I can’t say enough good things about this book, but I was interested in hearing what other people had to say about it. So I sussed out a few reviews of “The Body Principal” and want to share my findings with you. These reviews were all written within the past couple of years, quite amazing staying power.

Here are excerpts from a few of those reviews:

“I used the isometric exercises in this book after having my first child in the 80’s and my second in the 90’s. Easy exercises target almost every problem area without a lot of jumping around. Great moves to add to any exercise routine if you want a really nice figure.”

This reviewer said she had to re-purchase “The Body Principal” because she lent it to a friend who decided to keep it for herself. Seems her friend made it one of HER favorite books too!

Other comments are:

“Great body-shaping tips!”

“Awesome book!”

“I hate exercise, but love this book”

Another reviewer wore out her first book. She said, “This is an awesome book. I bought it when it first came out but wore it out. Then when I needed to start a new diet and exercise program, I had to buy a new one. The diet is easy, and the exercises even more so. Highly recommended.”

“I, by no means, like exercise. But this book, is great ~~ the exercises are easy, they work, and you don’t hurt yourself doing them.”

“This is a must-have book.”

Someone else suggested, “Victoria needs to turn this into a DVD.”

Finally, “I really like this exercise book. I have curvature of the spine and it has helped my posture a lot to where I stand up better. The exercises make you feel good. Not hard to do. You don’t need to buy anything to get good results.”

Obviously, Victoria Principal knew what she was talking about when she authored this book. Here, 30 years later, fans are still using it to get the positive results they want when re-shaping, toning, firming, and strengthening their bodies. There’s no way she would have thought that some day people would want it made into a DVD. Actually I'm pretty sure if anyone would have thought of that I have a feeling it would be Victoria.

I like it because, as others have said, the exercises are easy but the results are quite noticeable. They’re practical, uncomplicated, and do-able.

I know I’m repeating myself, but I can’t emphasize enough how great this book is. So if you’re a little late getting around to your New Year’s resolution to get in shape, maybe give “The Body Principal” a try and see for yourself what others are talking about.

After you give it a try, I’d love it if you’d write your own review and send it to me here at the Victoria Principal fan site. I’d be happy to post your review of this book.

Also, in case you didn’t know it, Lady V authored three other books about beauty, skin care, and health: “The Beauty Principal”, “The Diet Principal”, and “Living Principal”.

Enjoy your reading!

I can think of one good thing about all the snow falling across the country ….. I can have a “Dallas” marathon for DAYS! I want to clarify for those new to my Victoria Principal Fan Site, when I talk about the TV show “Dallas”, I mean the original ~~ the award-winning number one television drama starring Miss Victoria Principal. The series by the same name for the current generation is not even close.

Lady V portrayed Pamela Barnes Ewing on the original “Dallas” from 1978-87, and she’s the reason I’m so in love with the show to this very day. I distinctly remember when “Dallas” first aired. I was so excited to have such a drama in prime time.

So at my house we’re all settled in for the snow storm. We’re warm, have plenty for ourselves and our pets to eat, have absolutely no reason to go outside, and are ready to start our “Dallas” marathon.

Thank you, Lady V for giving us Pam Ewing! Let it snow!

February 8th, 2014

One of the things I enjoyed most about the original season of “Dallas” was the clothes, and especially Pam Ewing’s wardrobe. Victoria Principal’s lovely figure could accommodate any style and color she was given. It was clear that Lady V made each scene more intriguing simply because of the clothes she wore.

Fashion in the late 70’s through mid-80’s was a style all its own. But looking at photos of Victoria in outfits from that period makes everything she wore a classic.

I’m talking about everything from a bathing suit to lingerie to casual shorts and shirt or sundress and sandals to formal gowns and jewels. Miss Principal made each item look so much better, prettier, and brighter just because she’s so beautiful and knew how to wear clothes.

Here are a few of my favorite outfits worn by Lady V as Pam Ewing in the original … the one and only … “Dallas”.

Enjoy!

I love serendipity … you know, when something good that’s totally unexpected comes my way. It doesn’t have to be big or outlandish, but when somebody says something kind to me, does something thoughtful for me or gives me something I wasn’t expecting, it makes my whole day better.

Well, today was one of those days.

As you know, since October I’ve modified my morning and evening beauty regimen to include Lady V’s new Reclaim Botanical anti-aging products. Periodically I receive a new kit with the 7 items she recommends.

Today a new kit came and surprise! there was a free gift included that I totally was NOT anticipating. And best of all, it’s something I need and immediately started to use. The gift Victoria sent me is for my lips, Principal Secret Goddess Gloss and the shade is called Pucker Up Natural. Don’t you just love that?

What I like most about this gloss is how it hydrates, smoothes and softens my lips, which I definitely need in this dry winter air. It feels so good going on, and it STAYS on for a long time. Miss Principal created this gloss to make lips look plump and juicy, a look most of the ladies I know want to show off. I can wear it alone or over my regular lipstick.

My husband said the gloss makes my lips more “kissable”. I told him that’s why it’s called “Pucker Up Natural”. So he said, “Well, pucker then in because I’m going to kiss you again.”

That was something I wasn’t expecting him to say so it’s been a serendipitous day in more ways than one.

Thank you, Lady V!

Victoria Principal is a risk-taker, and that’s one of the things I most admire about her. Early in her career she made a move that proved she was willing to go that extra step to get what she wanted.

In 1974 Victoria auditioned for a part in the disaster film “Earthquake” in the role of Italian character Rosa. Her audition went well and the choices were narrowed down to three actresses, Lady V being one of them. She really, really wanted this role, and so she took a risk in order to get it.

Victoria had waist-length brown hair at the time, but this wasn’t her vision of how Rosa should look. So she had her long hair cut short, dyed it black, and put it into an afro. Then she went to her third audition for the part.

The producer was stunned and so impressed by Miss Principal’s risky transformation in order to look more like Rosa that she was offered the part on the spot. She accepted, was cast as Rosa, “Earthquake” became a major hit, and Victoria's career continued to flourish.

How cool is that? I guess the moral of this story is that if you want something really bad, then you need to take a risk to get it. Victoria did and it paid off.

Thanks for indulging me this “Lady V Moment” from her past.

January 28th, 2014

I love getting mail here at the site from other fans of Victoria Principal. Some write to share interesting tidbits they’ve learned about Lady V, some write to tell me what they love most about her, and others write to ask questions, hoping I’ll know the answer. Sometimes I do and sometimes I don’t, but I always try my best to respond to her fans, even if it’s to say, “I don’t know.”

Recently I received an email from Jesse who said she’s Victoria’s “biggest fan in Tennessee”. Jesse tried Victoria’s 90-day challenge along with me, using her Reclaim Botanical anti-aging beauty products for three full months. She said she couldn’t be happier with the results and they’re now essential in her daily beauty regimen. I loved hearing this!

Jesse then asked me how Victoria went from being a famous, very popular celebrity in show business to creating an award-winning skin care line. She wondered what the catalyst was to totally changing direction career-wise.

Well, I hate to admit it, but I had no idea what the specifics were that led Lady V to create Principal Secret. I sorta kinda knew, generally speaking, but since Jesse had taken the time and effort to write and ask the question, I didn’t want to have to write her back and say, “I don’t know”.

When asked the same question by the interviewer, Victoria responded:

“When I was in my twenties I went from having very healthy, clear skin to developing acne and it was a certain kind of acne. I went from dermatologist to dermatologist, and the only thing that would bring it under control was antibiotics, but then I would get stomach aches and then I would stop taking it and the acne would come back.”

“Finally I found someone who was able to tell me why I was getting the acne ~~ that I was allergic to many of the ingredients in skin care and make-up. Back then they used to ladle the make-up on actresses and everyone used the same thing, you know. They’d take a pan stick and it didn’t matter if you used the same thing on twenty people, so you were getting everybody’s germs.”

She continued, “So learning that, I went and had three products made just for me that did not contain any of the things I was allergic to. Then I began bringing my own make-up. That was in my twenties. In my thirties ~~ because so many other actresses expressed interest in my skin care and my make-up, and the fact that my skin was so healthy, I thought, you know, this is something that a lot of women would like, and so I began the company in the 80’s. I did it very quietly and then it became successful in 1991.”

Victoria wanted to emphasize that she’s not just a well-known personality who happens to make and sell skin care products. She went on to say:

“I need to add something ~~ I’m not someone who said, ‘Oh I’m well known and I’ll abuse that by saying I know how to make skin care.’ I actually am a member of the Society of Cosmetic Chemists. I really am hands-on, I really go in and formulate. I really earned this. You can’t buy your way in. There’s no way to get in unless you earn it. You have to know your chemistry. So this is something that I love, that I really do, and I do it because I’ve been doing it for years. I’ve always loved to do it. I didn’t know it would become a world-wide business. I sensed it would be successful because so many of my girlfriends wanted it.”

So there you have it. Jesse’s question has been answered and even though she wasn’t speaking directly to Jesse when she gave this interview, the words are 100% Victoria’s and her explanation of how she got into the skin care business is as honest and accurate as you’ll ever read anywhere.

I hope others will write and tell me about their experiences being a Lady V fan. Thank you again, Jesse!

Next month I’m going on a business trip to Los Angeles and I’m really excited about it. I’ve gone there before, but it’s been a few years ago and I was working the whole time. I certainly didn’t the chance to visit Malibu, where Victoria Principal has a home. My friends are all saying, “I hope you see Lady V while you’re there!”

I just laugh when they do but then I started thinking what I actually WOULD do if I ran into Miss Victoria Principal.

My first reaction would be to freak out. Or faint. Or just fall over from pure happiness. Yes, I know I sound like a total fangirl, but that’s because I AM a total fangirl.

Miss Principal is absolutely the most beautiful person I’ve ever known (and, of course, I don’t mean that I’ve known personally because that would be just unbelievable). Her beauty is obvious to the eye, but her inner beauty is what sets her apart from all the other gorgeous ladies out there.

Victoria is one of those women that other women strive to be like. She glows with such a positive attitude and exudes the natural poise, grace and confidence we all wish we could have. Her kindness and generosity toward the less-fortunate is an example we should all try to follow and her willingness to take that extra step to help others is rarely matched. She has a huge heart that opens easily and often and my admiration for her is endless.

Miss Principal has taken upon herself a responsibility for our planet and all of it’s inhabitants, but mostly she works tirelessly to save our wildlife and marine life, as well as the domesticated pets that we so adore. She sees the value in all beings, and her connection to animals is unmistakable.

I just realized that I’m totally off-topic now, but when I start singing the praises of Lady V its way too easy to become distracted by all of her goodness. If you’ve read any of this blog, you know I’m not sugar-coating the truth when I say that … she really and truly is an amazing individual.

So, when I’m in LA next month and if I should just so happen to see Miss Victoria Principal on the sidewalk or in a park or on the beach or in a car next to me, perhaps in a restaurant or maybe even the airport, what will I do? Despite all my anticipated reactions of making a fool of myself, I think maybe I’ll just smile at my fantastic good fortune and go on my merry way.

Not that I’m anticipating its return, but I can’t help notice that “Dallas” (the dismal remake, not the original) still hasn’t shown up for its third season.

Who cares? Not me, quite obviously. The only “Dallas” I was ever interested in, am currently interested in, and will be interested in at some future time is the one starring Miss Victoria Principal.

I adore Lady V’s portrayal of Pam Ewing, who I believe was the soul of “Dallas” during her years on the show. She captured this character and played her to perfection in every episode. I’m such a fan of Victoria that I feel like she does everything to perfection.

Once again, forest fires are active in Southern California. People think these trees only ignite in a hot, dry summer but that’s not accurate. A forest fire can break out anytime.

Victoria Principal knows this and decided to do something about it. A few months ago she funded a new mobile technology which enables everyone with a phone to participate in critical fire prevention simply by sending a text message. Just text TREE to the number 80888 and donate $10 to TreePeople’s fire prevention and restoration efforts. You can also volunteer to actually offer hands-on assistance in the Santa Monica Mountains by texting TREE to number 51555, then your full name and e-mail address.

Lady V likes to make things easy, and helping with forest fire prevention couldn’t be any easier. She obviously has a deep love for California’s forests and in keeping them alive, healthy and productive. She asks us all to be proactive in stopping any fires before they get out of hand and do irreparable damage and cause death and destruction.

Victoria has been a champion for our environment for as long as I can remember. In fact, she’s been one of the most generous individual donors to TreePeople’s wildfire recovery efforts for more than 20 years.

I know this post sounds serious and isn’t much fun, but the situation is extremely serious in the mountains of Southern California, and that’s never fun. Please, if you’re able to help Miss Principal as she helps all of us, please do your part and text TreePeople to save our environment.

Thank you, Victoria, and thank you Victoria’s fans for all you do!

It’s mid-January and people who work in show business call this time of year “award season”. They call it this because there are several award programs that take place in a short period of time, such as the Critics Choice, People's Choice, Screen Actors Guild, Academy Awards (the Oscars) and my favorite, the Golden Globes tonight!. Award shows recognize and honor the outstanding work of those in the industry in a myriad of categories.

Being nominated for an award ... any award ... is truly an honor. It’s definitely a short list of people who can claim ownership of this accolade, so I find it amazing that Victoria Principal has been able to do that very thing for the first film role she ever held. Yes, Lady V earned a Golden Globe Nomination as Most Promising Newcomer in 1972 after she appeared in “The Life and Times of Judge Roy Bean”. In the film she notably portrayed Paul Newman’s Mexican mistress, Marie Elena.

If that’s not enough, in 1983 Victoria was nominated for Best Actress in a Television Series for her role in “Dallas”.

Since that early recognition, Miss Principal’s acting, directing and producing accomplishments are numerous, but each one is well-deserved. And in my opinion, all are worthy of the highest award you can get.

With all my holiday and birthday posts, I totally forgot to share the results of my 90-day challenge. For those new to this Victoria Principal fan site, on October 1st I began a 3-month experiment using anti-aging products from Lady V’s newest beauty line, Reclaim Botanical. Every now and then I would give a hint of how things were going, but I promised to make my most revealing post at the end of the challenge.

So here we are, 3 months (and a few days) later and I have a surprising confession to make. I had serious doubts that I would see a significant change in my skin, even after using products created by Victoria Principal. I realize I didn’t make that known at the beginning of the challenge because it’s rare (if ever!) that I question anything connected with Victoria, but I had some serious skin problems that needed serious attention. And I didn’t think there was anything available that could resolve those problems.

After 90 straight days of using the Gentle Cream Cleanser, Radiant Recovery Fluid Eye Cream, Daily Essential Serum, Synant Peptide, Radiant Recovery Day Cream and Radiant Recovery Night Cream, the results are absolutely, 100% positive. All my doubts were shattered and all my faith is renewed.

At the risk of sounding like my own infomercial for Victoria’s Reclaim Botanical, I’ll try to keep my comments brief.

The biggest improvement is around my eyes. Crow’s feet, fine lines and wrinkles are noticeably diminished and there’s less under-eye discoloration and puffiness, which really pleased my husband. The skin around my eyes has more elasticity and firmness that wasn’t there before, and the rough texture on my eyelids has reduced immensely.

My particular trouble area, vertical frown lines, has greatly improved and I’m greatly happy! I’ve had frown lines in my forehead since I was a teenager, so to see them smooth out is exciting. Even my kids commented on this.

Sun spots and age spots have faded on my face and neck and there’s a balance to my uneven skin tone which now looks brighter and more radiant.

While the biggest difference is obvious around my eyes, my favorite improvement from using these products is how hydrated my skin is. I say it’s like getting an instant dose of healthy hydration that adds much-needed moisture to my skin. I love it!

Besides the obvious improvements to my skin that is visible to me and others, my skin feels fantastic. I believe that has to do with how toned it is and, of course, how smooth and healthy it feels.

I just realized I’m smiling as I write this. To say I’m satisfied with Lady V’s Reclaim Botanical is an understatement. To say my 90-day challenge was a success is happily accurate. And to say these products are amazing is, well, it’s honestly amazing!

Happy, Happy Birthday Lady V ~~ January 3rd couldn’t be any more special because it’s the day you were born!

Yes, today is Victoria Principal’s birthday and my wish is that the universe looks upon her and fills her heart with the same goodness and love she gives to everyone else, every day of the year. If anybody deserves a blessing returned to her, it is Victoria.

If you follow this fan site or know even just a little about Miss Principal’s life, then you know what an amazingly generous person she is. Her philanthropy work isn’t limited to monetary donations ~~ she gives wholly and frequently of herself.

The list of charitable work she does and the contributions she makes to humanitarian organizations goes on and on. I don’t need to enumerate all the kindnesses she freely gives others. I know what she does and I suspect you, as a fan, are aware of her compassionate ways as well.

She tends to others quietly, without fanfare or the need for recognition. She sees that something, somewhere, needs be done and she just does it. She sees that someone is hurting and needs a helping hand so she extends her own hand and reaches out. Why? Why would she give so much to so many without expecting something in return? Because it’s the right thing to do.

My admiration for Lady V is expansive and grows with each act of kindness she demonstrates. I strive to be more like her … I really do … but there’s no way my selflessness even comes close to Victoria’s. The way she lives her life is the epitome of how I want to live mine. It’s true that I’ve said more than once how I want to be like her, but it takes more than just wishing for that to become a reality.

So my gift to Victoria is to follow her lead and make a difference in this world. If we all made a pledge to do the same thing, can you imagine what a wonderful world this would be?

Thank you, Lady V, for being the exemplar person that we can all aim to parallel, and for being the shining star that we can all look up to. And happiest, happiest, happiest of birthdays!

January 1st, 2014

On this first day of 2014 I’d like to wish everyone a Happy, Healthy, Prosperous and Love-Filled New Year! Here’s hoping for lots of Victoria in our lives as we strive to be the best we can be.

I don’t usually make New Year’s Resolutions, but I do intend to follow Miss Principal’s example in every way I can to be a better person. Most importantly, I want to be more compassionate toward others who are less fortunate or who have to endure hardship through no fault of their own. I want to reach out to my community as well as globally to this one and only planet we live on and protect the environment in every way I possibly can. I want to shepherd our wildlife and marine life and all life to help those who cannot possibly help themselves.

These may sound like lofty expectations I’ve set for myself, but they’re not. Victoria Principal lives this life every day of the year, not just for the first couple of weeks in January. She leads by example and I intend to follow her as my personal role model.

So here’s to Lady V, here’s to all her fans, and here’s to a glorious 2014 for us all! Cheers!

December 31st, 2013

It’s almost time to say good-bye to 2013 and say hello to 2014. What a perfect opportunity to say “Hello!” and “Welcome!” to all of Victoria’s fans who have found their way to this blog.

Some know of Miss Principal mainly because of her time on “Dallas”; some are familiar with Lady V because of her skin care products; still others know about her many charitable humanitarian contributions and work for the environment and wildlife. Of course, there are those fans who know all these things about Victoria while others don’t know a thing other than the fact they like her.

Whatever brought you here, we’re so glad you found us and hope you’ll find our site fun, informative, and helpful. It’s all Victoria all the time and what could be better than that?

One of the best parts about this blog is hearing from other fans of Victoria. Everyone who writes is positive, upbeat, and respectful and always complimentary towards Lady V. It’s amazing how much love there is out there for this woman.

So as we welcome a new year, please know that you’re welcome too and everyone is invited to be a part of our community. Have a wonderful New Year!

December 25th, 2013

Merry Christmas to all of Victoria Principal’s fans!

December 25th is finally upon us and if your family is anything like mine, you’ve already ripped into all those beautifully wrapped presents and are exclaiming over what you’ve been given by those who love you.

Not surprisingly, my husband knew just which Reclaim Botanical and traditional Reclaim beauty and anti-aging products I asked Santa for. Of course, the fact that I left a list taped to the bathroom mirror may have made his task a little easier.

If I didn’t know better, I might even believe that Lady V spent some real quality time with Mr. & Mrs. Claus up in the North Pole. Then again, I refer to that ever-important list and wonder if maybe I could have been more subtle.

Products from Victoria’s line weren’t the only things I received this morning, but I must admit they were probably my favorites. Over time my husband has learned (correctly, I might add) that he absolutely can’t go wrong with anything advocated by Miss Principal.

Again this year, as fans of Lady V, my gift to you is this blog. I love to share my thoughts and ideas about this phenomenal woman, pass along fun facts and information, and I truly enjoy announcing news and updates with regard to her life. Honestly, I couldn’t wait to tell you about the premiere of her new line, Reclaim Botanical, a few months ago and hope you appreciated hearing about it as much as I relished being the bearer of such exciting news.

So please, friends and fans, have the merriest of Christmases and savor the knowledge that we all come here for one reason, and that reason is Miss Victoria Principal.

December 23rd, 2013

Along with many other people, I’m traveling to be with family over the holidays. While I’m looking forward to being with everybody, I’m also one of those people who like to take a “comfort item” from home. My husband insists on having his own pillow, one child absolutely must have his stuffed turtle, another needs her favorite pjs, and so on. So what could my comfort item possibly be?

You’ll laugh, but I always take a season’s worth of “Dallas” DVDs so Pamela Ewing ….. I mean, Victoria Principal can keep me company. Seriously. After all the visiting and catching up and eating and decorating and gift-opening and eating and whatever else we decide to do, it’s nice to retire in my bedroom, pop “Dallas” in the DVD player, and watch a little Victoria doing what she does so well.

I’m not saying I want to hide from my family, but it’s really nice to be alone for a while with Miss Principal as she rules the roost at Southfork.

So if you’re heading out for the holidays, be sure to travel safely, and don’t forget to take Lady V with you!

December 19th, 2013

In all my excitement about Victoria Principal’s new line of beauty and anti-aging products, I totally forgot to tell you about the complimentary trial-sized items that came with both of my Reclaim Botanical orders.

In my introductory kit I received a bottle of Radiant Recovery Moisture and a jar of Radiant Firming Neck Cream. Then, a bottle of Hydrating Complex Emergency Rescue and a jar Reaffirming Mask came in my second order.

It was really fun to open my package and find something that I wasn’t expecting, especially when that “something” is more Reclaim Botanical. This might sound silly, but I like to think that Lady V herself might have had a hand in this lovely gesture.

I’m hooked on the Radiant Recovery Moisture. Temps are cold right now and the air is so dry that my face feels like sandpaper. I massage in just a dab of this stuff … honest, a little goes a long way … and I’m serious when I say the difference is immediate. It’s like an extra surge of moisture into my skin.

After using all of these gifts, I’ve ordered the Radiant Recovery Moisture and the Hydrating Complex Emergency Rescue in the standard size. I absolutely love Lady V’s products. Do you think that’s kind of obvious? :)

Victoria Principal

I’ve decided to start a tradition here at the Victoria Principal Fan Site. Every year during this holiday season I’m going to post a letter and some photographs I received from a woman named Betty, who is one of Lady V’s biggest fans. Hers is an amazing, heart-warming story and while I don’t usually post personal email on this site, I’m making an exception for Betty’s lovely letter to get this tradition underway.

I hope you enjoy Betty’s letter as much as I did, and thank you again, Betty, for sharing your unforgettable experience with us all.

Dear Jenny,

A long time ago, in December 1981, I took my boys to get a Christmas tree. I was walking through the huge lot when I saw two people holding hands and laughing and trying to choose a tree.

I stopped and watched them because they were both so beautiful and there was something special about them. It took a minute for me to recognize them as Andy Gibb and Victoria Principal. She had on no make-up, just a real clean face and shiny hair and was a naturally gorgeous girl. But pretty soon I realized that these are two superstars far away from Hollywood and must have driven so far to just be normal and pick out a tree.

I was watching them but they didn't see me. I wanted to meet them, but I was a little scared an embarrassed, because I could tell they didn't' know anyone was watching them.

They acted like two people in love. I've seen people in love before, but I don't think I've ever seen a girl so crazy in love before ~~ the way she looked at Andy and the total way her love was all over her face really surprised me. I always thought that he was the one so in love, as she was always so reserved in their interviews and the way she acted in public.

That day I got to see how she was in private with him. She was always reaching out to touch him and I could hear her speaking to him in a sweet voice that made him laugh a lot. He seemed a little fragile, and she seemed like a very strong girl who was watching out for him. The way they were together was real comfortable like people are after a long time.

I asked them if I could take a picture of them and I know it surprised and kind of disappointed them to be recognized. They looked at each other and even though they didn't say anything it was like they knew what each other was thinking. Andy said I could take a picture if I didn't tell anyone they were there and she asked me if I would send them a copy of the picture. So I took two pictures real fast and Andy wrote down the address to send the pictures to them. They stood on each side of the tree and after I took the pic she said to take another just in case the first one wasn't good. I thanked them and promised I would. When I was leaving I turned back to tell them that I really like their song together, but they were wrapped up in each other and I didn't want to stop them again.

When I got home I told my husband but he didn't believe me until he saw the pictures. I went to mail both to them like I promised, but there was no zip code and I don't know if they ever got them.

I just saw your fan site for the first time and I wonder if you could post these and maybe Victoria Principal will get to see them. I've read some of the things they have said about her since Andy died and I know a lot of people think he was the one more in love and that she just left him and forgot him and went on with her life. I know that's not true, because I saw them together myself. And I know that no matter how bad the things are that people say about her, she never defends herself by telling anyone anything bad about Andy. I think she is willing to take all of the bad judgment instead of ever saying anything negative about him. In everything I've ever read she only tells the nicest stories about him. I saw her that day, how she was so in love and protecting him. I think she still is and that there will never be a tell-all about Andy Gibb from Victoria Principal and if there's a heaven I think he'll be there waiting for her. I've never seen a picture of her in all these years looking at anyone that way. I hope she finally gets to see these pictures and that they make her happy.

Thank you for reading this. Please don't use my last name.

Betty

Last spring I posted a letter from one of Victoria Principal’s fans who had seen Lady V on a horse ranch. The fan, named Carole, had taken her daughter to riding lessons at the ranch when she thought she recognized a woman having a few tender moments with a thoroughbred. Not wanting to interrupt, Carole watched as the woman and the horse shared a connection that conveyed love, trust, and understanding. It was then that Carole realized this woman was Miss Principal, and she sent me a couple of photographs of them together.

Last week Carole wrote me again and said that once more, she had the pleasure of seeing Victoria interacting with a thoroughbred at the ranch. She thinks it was the same horse, and the connection was very apparent between the two.

Carole very generously sent me another photograph that she took of Victoria and this beautiful animal. She doesn’t know if she’ll ever get the good fortune of seeing her again, but she said she’s already been blessed twice, and she wouldn’t exchange the experience for anything.

Thank you, Carole!

Enjoy the picture, so nice to see Victoria so happy!

December 5th, 2013

Holiday shopping is underway big time. I’ve done a fair amount and still have quite a few to buy for but I enjoy choosing just the right gift for the right person and look forward to it every year. Thankfully, I can turn to Victoria Principal for help with most of the women on my list.

One of my favorite gifts to give for any occasion is a book, and I absolutely can’t go wrong with one (or more!) written by Lady V. You may not know she’s a best-selling author, with The Body Principal on The New York Times Best Seller List for twelve weeks. I know that all the ladies on my holiday list would love and appreciate receiving this as a gift.

Victoria’s other three books about beauty, skin care, and health are The Body Principal, The Beauty Principal, and The Diet Principal and are also tops on my list to give my family and friends.

I’ve read all these books from cover to cover numerous times. It seems like each time I read them, I find something new that I hadn’t seen before. Victoria’s advice is timeless and easily relatable to all women, no matter what their age, beauty concerns, or abilities.

So if you want to relieve yourself of the stress of getting out there in the holiday crowds trying to find that perfect gift, the perfect gift is a book by Victoria Principal.

December 1st, 2013

Today is December 1st and that means I’m at the two-month mark in Victoria Principal’s Reclaim Botanical 90-day challenge. One month left before I determine how well the products worked for me and I reveal the results on this site.

Fans of Lady V have written to say they were conducting the challenge right along with me, which I think is really cool. And although they still have another month to go too, I wanted to post a few of their comments now.

Sandy from Tampa, Florida wrote: “The moisturizer in these products is amazing! I’m out in the hot Florida sun every day and my skin is always dry. I tried Reclaim Botanical and noticed immediate improvement after the very first time. Now I’m a regular user.”

Audrey from Winchester, Kentucky wrote: “Skeptical about all anti-aging products. Two months in to this challenge and my husband called Miss Principal a miracle worker. Not sure whether to be offended or thrilled!”

Claudia from Elbert, Colorado wrote: “One word: FANTASTIC!”

I laughed out loud when Audrey said her husband called Lady V a “miracle worker”, but at least he’s noticing some improvement.

It appears I’m not the only one pleased with Reclaim Botanical’s results, and we still have a full month to go, so it’s not too late to get in on the challenge.

Happy Holidays!

November 27th, 2013

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

Today is a day of thanks, but my resolve is to show gratitude throughout the year. With each passing Thanksgiving this becomes easier to do, because I can see how truly blessed I am to have what I have, be who I am, and know what I know. While I’ve never lived a life of selfishness, neither have I been as aware as I am now of how very fortunate I am.

I could easily list all I have to be thankful for, but that's not the point. It's enough that I know in my heart all I've been given and all I continue to receive on a daily basis.

But I will say that I'm grateful to have Miss Victoria Principal as a role model. I've followed her personal life and her career for as long as I can remember, and I try in many ways to be like her. My respect and admiration for Victoria goes without saying, and while I don't always succeed in living up to the standards she's set for herself, it's something I continue to strive for.

I'm also thankful to have this fan site to share what I know about Miss Principal and all the good she brings to her fans. Finally, I'm grateful for you, other fans of Victoria, as we all wait to see just what she's going to do next.

Have a safe holiday everybody!

November 22nd, 2013

My family is heading to the Gulf Shores for a much-needed vacation. For those who haven’t been there, you’re really missing out on some beautiful white sand beaches and clear warm water.

Whenever I go I remember the devastating Deepwater Horizon Explosion three years ago that wreaked havoc on the region.

That leads me to remember all Victoria Principal did for this part of the country at that time. She immediately donated $200,000 to the clean-up effort, which was desperately needed. Her donations brought together two huge environmental non-profits, Oceana and Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC), to work together on the massive clean-up.

Then, if that wasn’t enough, Victoria appeared with other celebrities just three weeks later in a CNN Larry King-sponsored Telethon to support the region. Miss Principal was on a panel with King, answered phones, and spoke with donors for two full hours. The telethon raised over $1.8 million.

So while I’m walking in that warm sand and splashing in the clear water surf, I know that my hero, in part, helped make this possible. Thank you, Victoria Principal. You’re the best.

November 17th, 2013

My 90-day challenge using Victoria Principal’s Reclaim Botanical products is now at the half-way point. I began on October 1st and it’s now the middle of November.

In case you’re new to this fan site which is dedicated solely to Miss Principal, this brand new line of anti-aging skin care products are the best the business has to offer, and I’m here to prove it. She brought in regular people, not actors or anybody else being paid to take the challenge, and after 90 days of using these products, 100% of them could see dramatic results.

When I first started this I was really curious what improvements I should look for, because I wanted the same benefits as those other women who initially used Reclaim Botanical.

Some of those changes will (hopefully!) be improve in the appearance of laugh lines, fine lines, vertical frown lines and wrinkles, as well as improvement in the overall appearance of age spots. If I notice positive results in just those areas alone I’ll be thrilled, but she promises more.

Miss Principal claims these products can also improve the appearance of skin elasticity and firmness, as well as improvement in overall skin tone.

Now, I want to apologize if this sounds like a commercial for Reclaim Botanical, I only wish I could be on one of those. I’m not going to make any conclusive comments on these products until the challenge is over, which will be in 6 more weeks. But I will say this: Victoria Principal is known for her truthfulness and integrity when it comes to putting her name on a product. So I’m excited to see the results, and can’t wait to report them to you!

By the way, I mentioned previously that other fans of Miss Principal have been writing me here to tell me how pleased they are with Reclaim Botanical … I’ll post some of their comments soon!

November 14th, 2013

You know what’s really neat about being a fan of Lady V? I feel like I actually know her … maybe even that we’re friends. I realize that probably sounds silly, but it’s true.

Maybe it’s because I know a lot about her from my many years of following her life and her career. Or maybe it’s because I have so much sincere respect for her. Perhaps it’s just because she’s someone who I’d honestly love to be friends with so it seems sort of like we already are.

I don’t know what it is about Victoria Principal, but I do know that when I think of all the public figures or celebrities or stars or whatever name you want to give to her, she’s the one I always come back to when I consider who I like best.

I look at Victoria’s attributes and accomplishments and I have nothing but respect for her. I look at her generosity and kindness, and at her character and compassion and I want to be like her. I look at how well she’s taken care of herself physically, emotionally, mentally, spiritually and in every way possible, and I stand in awe of her.

Miss Principal, if you’re ever in the market for a BFF, you know where to find me!

November 11th, 2013

Today is November 11th, which is Veterans Day in the United States. This is an official federal holiday to honor armed service veterans in our country; it coincides with the anniversary of the signing of the Armistice which ended World War I. WWI formally ended at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month in 1918.

Victoria was raised in a military family with her father, Victor Principal serving in the United States Air Force. My own father served in the Army during WWII and my husband served two tours of duty in Vietnam with the Army then joined the Navy during peace time. My brother is currently in the Coast Guard.

I'm sure Lady V as I lovingly like to call Miss Principal:), will take time today to remember those veterans who served in the military and in many cases, gave their last full measure of devotion for our country. She is already doing so much for military families with a loved one in a war zone by fully funding camps for their children to spend time with therapy dogs.

God Bless our Armed Forces and God Bless the United States of America.

November 7th, 2013

I saw the movie “Gravity” last night. It was an amazing film and I really enjoyed it. Between that and the solar eclipse we experienced a couple of days ago, its got me thinking once more about Victoria Principal’s decision to be one of the first civilians to travel into space.

I know I’ve talked about this before, but I still stand in awe of her bravery in being a true pioneer. I mean, how many people would have the nerve to actually strap themselves into that cockpit and hand over all control to someone else? Not me.

Victoria has shown this type of intrepidity numerous times before, beginning when she was very young. Her talents, creativity and intelligence allowed her to discover what she wanted out of life and she was fearless as she set out to achieve her goals.

Miss Principal was an actor, an agent and a producer, just to name a few of her accomplishments. She actually started her own production company, which is not something a person just does. I can’t even imagine how daunting that had to be. Yet Victoria did it and did it with great success.

Then, still not one to shy away from new adventures, Victoria created a line of skin care products. To say she succeeded with Principal Secret is a major understatement. I mean, I just received a whole box of her newest products.

Not one to rest on her laurels, Victoria decided to write a book, but she didn’t stop there ~~ she wrote FOUR books! People just don’t do that unless they’re fearless. And that’s the perfect word to describe Victoria Principal … fearless.

It goes without saying that fearlessness is the one trait a person absolutely must have to go up in space as a civilian. And yet, Victoria was one of the first to sign on and she was the very first woman to make that commitment.

I guess this long post is just my way of saying how awesome Victoria Principal is and this has been exemplified over and over throughout her life. She just doesn’t stop. Victoria shoots for the stars every time … literally!

November 2nd, 2013

I’ve been using Victoria Principal’s Reclaim Botanical for a month now, and I’m loving it. I look forward to both my morning and evening regimens with these anti-aging products and plan on using them for a long time.

My second month’s beauty kit arrived yesterday. I’m enjoying this challenge more than I thought I would, and I’m sure that’s because I can already see a difference. It’s slight and probably not noticeable to anybody but me, but I still have two months to go before I determine if there’s actually been a change.

One thing I really like about Reclaim Botanical is how gentle it is to my skin. I’ve used products in the past that were harsh and irritating and I ended up throwing them away. There’s not a trace of that with Miss Principal’s anti-aging products. Victoria guarantees everything she creates, so even if I use the whole jar or tube, I could still get a full refund if I didn’t like it, for any reason. But that’s not going to happen with Reclaim Botanical. This is good stuff.

I’ve heard from several of Victoria’s fans who started the challenge at the same time I did, on October 1st. If anybody else out there is doing the same 90-day trial, I’d love to hear from you here at the fan site. It’s always fun talking with other fans of Miss Principal who are using her products along with me.

Enjoy your day!

A while back I mentioned that “Dallas”, the very blasé remake of the iconic original series starring Miss Victoria Principal, had been renewed for another season.

I’m not here to bash the remade version (believe it or not). I’m here to say I’m actually glad Victoria chose not to join the cast of the current series. Now, you know I’m thrilled to read or watch anything that involves Miss Principal, so you’d naturally think I’d be excited for her to return. But I’ve seen the remade version of “Dallas” and to be honest, the quality is nowhere near what the original version afforded its viewers. There’s no comparison.

Apparently, the writers of the current Dallas "realized" they just couldn’t bring back Victoria and do her justice as Pamela Barnes Ewing, so they decided it was easier to have her character die.

I didn’t watch that episode … wasn’t interested in the least … but I couldn’t be more pleased. Now that the speculation is over and Pam has been put to rest, I’m relieved that Victoria’s name will always and forever be attached to the original “Dallas” only.

Now, I’m going to pop in a DVD of my favorite show. Any guesses what that might be?

October 28th, 2013

A fan of Victoria’s wrote me here at the site and asked which episode of “Dallas” was my favorite. Now, considering she was on the series for nine years, one might think that’s a hard question. But to me, coming up with the answer was a piece of cake.

“Digger’s Daughter” was the series’ very first episode and originally aired on Friday, April 2, 1978. Miss Principal was very obviously the star of that episode and to me, remained the star of the series.

We’re introduced to Victoria as Pam Barnes, who has just married Bobby Ewing. Problem is, the Barnes and Ewing families are bitter rivals and their marriage isn’t taken well on either side. This storyline alone is intriguing, but there are many other twists and turns introduced in this single episode that had me hooked.

And the best part is that Victoria seems to be right in the middle of all of them in one way or another. She isn’t, of course, but it seems like it and that’s one of my favorite things about this premiere episode. We get to see that Pam isn’t one to be messed with and that characteristic is one that she brings to the screen throughout her nine years with the show.

I could go on and on about this one episode alone but I won’t. Not in this post anyway, but don’t be surprised if at some other time I give a play-by-play of the entire show … at least when Miss Principal is on the screen.

So there you have it. “Digger’s Daughter” is my very favorite of all the “Dallas” episodes, for now:) Which one do YOU like best?

Victoria is an amazing individual with an amazing heart.

A few days ago I posted about Miss Principal’s love for animals and how that just might be what I like best about her. Besides all the things she’s done for wildlife, marine life and pets, she also combined her love for both animals and children in a unique way.

Last year she fully funded six summer camps in California for the children of military members who are stationed overseas in a war zone. The camps allow children to interact with Therapy Dogs who help enable them to communicate the fear, anger and uncertainty they feel about one of their parents being gone and at-risk.

The healing process begins when kids can open up about these things. Victoria knows this and wants to do whatever she can to make having a parent in a place of danger just a little easier to deal with.

Attending these camps is an experience the children will never forget and allows the Humane Society to save the lives of more dogs by training them to be valuable therapy dogs. This is such a great story because it’s such a great thing that Victoria Principal has done.

October 22nd, 2013

Spring and autumn are my favorite seasons and I’m so happy that fall is now in full swing. There’s nothing like walking my dog through the leaves on a brisk, cool day while crunching into a Honeycrisp apple.

Already, though, along with the colder weather I call tell a difference in the dryness of my skin, especially my face. I suspect I’m ahead of the game because I’m on the Reclaim Botanical regimen created by Victoria Principal, and that’s a good thing. I use her products every morning and every night before bed, but still there’s that definite difference that cooler weather brings. And that’s NOT a good thing.

But once again, Victoria to the rescue! My husband rolls his eyes and laughs when I say that, but it’s true. She actually created a product that’s called Hydrating Complex Emergency Rescue and that’s why I say “Victoria to the rescue”, but he still thinks it’s funny.

Miss Principal described using this formula as a “sprinkler to shower your skin with hydration”. I love that image and picture it every time I massage this product into my face. My dry skin just drinks it up.

If I honestly believe in something, I like to share what I’ve learned with others. Plus I’m such a huge fan I’ve watched this infomercial a lot!! This product is easy to believe in because it really works. And Victoria Principal fans are never wrong!

“Would you like to look 10 years younger… or 10 years better?”

That’s the question Victoria Principal poses, and she hopes your answer is “better”. Those who care about how they look and want to look better are the ones who will most appreciate Reclaim Botanical. If you’re new to this site or to Miss Principal’s fandom, these are her newest anti-aging skin care products under her Principal Secret line.

Reclaim Botanical is the ultimate harmony of science and nature ~~ combining ingredients derived from plants, flowers, fruits and even marine algae ~~ along with the best skin care formulations that modern technology has to offer.

This stuff is good and it’s the real thing. I wouldn’t brag about it (or use it, for that matter) if I didn’t believe it. Victoria’s products are botanically-based and non-toxic so they’re completely safe and ecologically friendly. You know how important that is to Victoria, and it’s extremely important to me as well. I don’t buy products for me or my family unless they’re green and harmless, and Reclaim Botanical definitely is.

Making these products sounds like a good deal, but what do they do? Quite simply, they can honestly and truly help transform your skin. All skin. All genders, all ages, all conditions. Used regularly they can help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles; visibly improve skin tone and texture; and boost the appearance of skin elasticity and firmness. That’s the short version. Get me going and I can go on and on, but I won’t in this post.

Now, knowing all I’ve told you, Victoria wants to know, do you want to look 10 years younger or 10 years better?

October 15th, 2013

If I had to choose one attribute Victoria Principal possesses that means the most to me, I’d absolutely say her love of animals. I’ve posted several times about all she does for wildlife, both in the forests and in our oceans, but it’s not just animals we enjoy from a distance that has caught Victoria’s attention. She has a true affection for our domesticated friends too.

One example of her commitment happened earlier this year when the devastating F-5 tornado destroyed Moore, Oklahoma. There were so many needs by so many people then; but Miss Principal saw the opportunity to help beloved pets who had been displaced during the storm by reuniting them with their frantic families.

So she made an extremely generous donation to the American Humane Association to support their Red Star Rescue Team. Red Star members conducted search, rescue and sheltering operations, and then provided temporary housing, meals and medical attention to these frightened and sometimes injured creatures.

After I originally posted the complete story about the Red Star Rescue Team, I received emails from Miss Principal’s fans from all over the country saying they had also made donations for this very compassionate operation.

You can still donate here: www.americanhumane.org. since this Team has been responding to animals’ needs during tragedies for nearly 100 years. Victoria Principal knows a good thing when she sees it.

October 11th, 2013

It’s been about a week-and-a-half since I started my regimen using Reclaim Botanical. If you’re a regular visitor to the site or a Victoria Principal fan, as I am, you’ll know what I’m talking about.

A few months ago Miss Principal premiered her newest anti-aging beauty product and it’s called Reclaim Botanical. I’m going to faithfully use these products for 90 days, through the end of the year, and report my progress as I go along.

Anyway, I started on October 1st and I wanted to check in with everybody on how it’s going. Obviously, there are no major changes to be seen in just a few days, but I have to honestly say that my skin seems to already feel softer. Now, it might just be my imagination, but I don’t think so … I’m positive it’s already softer.

Sorry this post isn’t about Victoria, but it sort of is since Reclaim Botanical is her creation. I’ll keep at it and give you my next update in a couple of weeks.

October 8th, 2013

I think most of us know that October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and that pink is their associated color. But did you know that October is also Domestic Violence Awareness Month and their color is purple?

I didn’t. Not until recently that is. Now I’m moved to do what I can to help.

Apparently Victoria Principal was too. Always pro-active when she can be, she currently serves as co-chair of Victory Over Violence.

Established in 1995, VOV is made up of representatives from the entertainment industry, business, and government who have come together to make the public more aware of domestic abuse.

In addition, VOV increased services and resources available to these victims. This organization also serves as the Community Advisory Board of the Los Angeles County Domestic Violence Council.

I know this wasn’t a very up-lifting post and I apologize for that. But I truly believe Miss Principal would want you to know that there IS help available if you’re a victim of domestic violence, or know someone who is.

So if you put on a purple shirt during the month of October, or maybe do your nails in purple or anything else with that color, remember Victoria Principal’s commitment to bring awareness of domestic violence to every single person in this country.

I had a really interesting conversation today … not only interesting, but it caught me totally off-guard.

My sister and I were having a late lunch at one of our favorite restaurants when we couldn’t help but overhear the people at the table next to us talking about their favorite TV shows. One of the men said nothing on TV today could touch his favorite show of all time, “Dallas”.

Of course, I couldn’t resist asking him if he meant the original “Dallas” or the remake that was supposedly renewed for a third season, but I haven’t seen a sign of it yet (just sayin’).

He said, “The original version, of course. I watched one episode of the new version and turned it off half-way through.”

I asked him why and he said, “Are you kidding me? Because it doesn’t hold a candle to the original series.”

He then went on to tell me how the storylines were so much better then, how the scenery and music just isn’t the same, and most importantly, the acting doesn’t compare to the original actors.

I was about to ask him who his favorite actor was on the series when he offered, “I’ll tell you who I really miss … Victoria Principal. She totally made ‘Dallas’ in my opinion and that’s honestly why I watched the show.”

Then he told me how much he enjoyed and appreciated Miss Principal and all she brought to “Dallas”. I told him I was a fan too, and we had a great time exchanging favorite storylines that featured Victoria as Pam Ewing. His family ended up buying lunch for my sister and me!

This story is 100% true and just made my day. It’s always cool to run into another Victoria Principal fan who enjoyed her acting as much as I have. So the next time you’re tempted to listen in on somebody else’s conversation, go ahead. You may just find a new friend!

October 1st, 2013

Today is October 1st and as promised, this morning I started my 90-day challenge with Reclaim Botanical. As you probably know from my previous posts, Reclaim Botanical is Victoria Principal’s new line of anti-aging beauty products.

The challenge was explained in Victoria’s infomercial, whereby 100 “regular” women (as opposed to actors) used these products for 3 months to see if they actually do what Miss Principal says they do. The response was 100% positive.

Some of their comments were “Amazing”, “It Works”, “A Miracle”, “Radiant”, “Safe”, “Gentle” and so much more. Actor Helen Hunt, who almost never gives endorsements, took the challenge herself and actually appeared in Victoria’s infomercial to tout the affirmative results she achieved by using these products. That in itself made me curious.

I received my first 30-day kit, which includes these items: Gentle Cream Cleanser, Radiant Recovery Fluid Eye Cream, Daily Essential Serum, Synant Peptide, Radiant Recovery Day Cream and Radiant Recovery Night Cream. I also received two bonus gifts ~~ Radiant Firming Neck Cream and Radiant Recovery Moisture.

In the kit, Miss Principal provides a Step-By-Step Guide with all kinds of information about each Reclaim Botanical item. She explains why we need it, what the benefits are, the results according to the participants (those “real” women I mentioned above) and described how and when to use each one.

How could it be any easier? It can’t, and that’s why I’m so excited to start this challenge. I’ve never been one to spend a lot of time putting on make-up or using beauty products, so this regimen seems like it’s custom-made for me.

It isn’t, of course. Miss Principal created this line so that it’s appropriate for pretty much everybody ….. all skin types, all races, all genders, all ages and all stages.

I’m sorry if I’m rambling, but I’m honestly psyched about Victoria’s Reclaim Botanical and look forward to the next 90 days. In upcoming posts I’ll elaborate on each item and tell you honestly how it’s working for me. I expect good results, but I want to find out for myself if it can make a difference with my own skin.

September 29th, 2013

I know I’ve been writing a lot about Victoria Principal’s newest line of anti-aging products, Reclaim Botanicals. In a couple of those posts I said I had ordered a kit for myself and would be trying the 60-day challenge. I want to find out for myself if everything the product promises works for me, and post the results here.

Some of you may be wondering when I’m going to start giving updates about this product and may even question if I’m on the up-and-up about this.

Allow me to explain. I’ve been a regular user of Miss Principal’s products for years and as such, I still have a lot of items from previous purchases. Because I’m a strong proponent of “waste not, want not”, I fully intend to use every drop, glob and blob from her other line before I open anything new.

I know I probably didn’t have to explain myself or justify why I haven’t actually started using Reclaim Botanicals, but I have such respect for you, as fans of Victoria, that I wanted to set the record straight.

That said, I think maybe I’ve been using just a bit more than necessary with my current products because I’m so anxious to begin using Reclaim Botanicals. And am excited to announce that I will start using Reclaim Botanical tomorrow!

Can't wait to share the results with all of you!

September 24th, 2013

Summer is over and autumn is upon us. I love fall for all the obvious reasons … colorful leaves, frost on the pumpkin, turkey & dressing, a harvest moon … but I also love this time of year because it marks the end of reruns on TV. New shows will be premiering soon and current shows will begin a new season.

It appears that “Dallas” (the re-make, of course) has been renewed for a third season. Frankly, that kind of surprises me because as you know, I don’t think it’s that good. Ok, let’s be honest. It’s not entertaining at all.

Let’s face it … part of that might be my love for the original “Dallas” and my serious love for Victoria Principal in that series. Nobody, and I mean NOBODY represented “Dallas” like Victoria as she portrayed Pamela Barnes. For me, she simply and absolutely made that show what it was.

Obviously that’s not the only thing she’s known for … I mean, just read through some of my most recent posts … but it’s one of the first things that made her stand out.

There will never be another “Dallas” (even this so-called re-make) and there will never be another Pamela Barnes Ewing. But most importantly and most gratifying, there can never be another Victoria Principal.

September 20th, 2013

I’ve been fascinated with space travel ~~ the real thing, not sci-fi ~~ ever since I was a child. I’d lay in the cool grass on a warm summer night and search the heavens for Sputnik. I actually saw several satellites, but never knew if they were the history-making USSR craft or ours. Either way, I caught the solar system bug.

As I’ve mentioned here before, I share this interest with Victoria Principal. So when I heard the news today from NASA, I could only imagine her delight too.

It was announced that the Voyager 1 probe has become the first man-made object to travel into interstellar space. Scientists report that the unmanned spacecraft, which lifted off on this journey more than 36 years ago, has crossed the magnetic boundary separating our solar system’s sun, planets and solar wind from the rest of the galaxy.

Now, I’m sure this doesn’t interest some people, but others like Miss Principal and me find such stuff out-of-this-world (haha). In fact, Victoria has actually signed up to travel on the world’s first commercial passenger spacecraft, the VSS Enterprise.

“Going into space fulfills many desires I have of seeing the planet, going fast, going someplace very few people have been ~~ and hopefully coming back down!” she said about the experience.

At $200,000 per ticket the Enterprise has 2 pilots and will be carried to the edge of space by a carrier plane. Victoria, one of 6 passengers, will see the curvature of planet Earth and get to experience weightlessness.

I don’t know if I would be as brave as Victoria and actually fly into space, but with the success of Voyager 1 traveling even deeper into the unknown, it seems more of a reality than ever that Miss Principal will actually make that trip.

“I’m a passenger in something that is pioneering,” she said. “This will become to our great-grandchildren what Wilbur and Orville Wright were to you and me.”

September 15th, 2013

I just came across an article from StudioCityPatch.com about Victoria’s continuing involvement in saving Southern California’s mountains and woodlands from devastating wildfires. You can read the article Here.

Miss Principal funded a new mobile technology which enables everyone to participate in critical fire prevention work simply by sending a text message. I know that doesn’t sound possible, but it is. Here’s how it works: when you text TREE to the number 80888, you can donate $10 to TreePeople’s fire prevention and restoration efforts. You can also sign up as a volunteer to actually get out there and offer hands-on help in the Santa Monica Mountains throughout the summer and fall. Simply text TREE followed by your full name and e-mail address to 51555.

Miss Principal obviously has a deep love for California’s forests and in keeping them alive, healthy and productive. Los Angeles County’s Fire Chief calls this summer and fall “probably the most volatile fire season that’s projected based on our 100-year history.” Victoria knows this, and wants to be proactive in stopping any fires before they get out of hand and do irreparable damage.

Victoria has been working for our environment for as long as I can remember, so it shouldn’t be a surprise that she has once again stepped in to help. In fact, for more than 20 years she has been one of the most generous individual donors to TreePeople’s wildfire recovery efforts.

While it is very rarely mentioned probably at Misss Principal's request, after the 2009 station fires that burned 144,000 acres, which was the largest fire in LA County history, Victoria gave the lead gift to help restore the Angeles National Forest. Two years earlier she provided funds for the restoration plan after the Griffith Park fire.

I know I write a lot about how beautiful Victoria Principal is and how much I enjoy her work on “Dallas”, but uncontained forest fires are serious business that cause death and destruction not only to the mountains, forests and wildlife living there, but to people and their property as well.

To know that Victoria gives of herself and her money to help so many others is the real reason I have so much respect for her and what she does. Being beautiful and talented just adds to my admiration for her.

So, if you are able to help Miss Principal as she helps all of us, please do your part and text TreePeople to save our environment.

Thank you Victoria, and thank you Victoria’s fans for all you do!

September 10th, 2013

My love for Victoria Principal is a well-known fact among my circle of friends and family. Even people I rarely see or talk to know I’ve been following her, her career and her life in general for as long as any of them can remember.

So whenever one of them stumbles across something “Victoria-related”, they can’t wait to tell me about it and I must confess, I can’t wait to see what they’ve discovered.

So I was thrilled yesterday when my cousin came home from a trip to Southern California during which she visited Malibu, and as I’m sure you know, that’s where Miss Principal lives. She was so excited to tell me about Legacy Park and Victoria’s connection to it.

After considerable research, the City of Malibu realized the need for a clean water system for its five Coastal Habitat Regions, and the project was born. Specific areas to be affected were Malibu Creek, Malibu Lagoon and the world-famous Surfrider Beach.

I don’t need to tell you how committed Miss Principal is to the environment, and since her own community was the focal point of this earnest endeavor, it was a no-brainer that she would be involved. Therefore, she offered her full support and became a Founding Member and Legacy Steward in the Leadership Circle to make this dream a reality and leave this gift of a healthy environment. Thus the name, Legacy Park.

Constructed in the heart of Miss Principal’s hometown, the stunning 17-acre park is the centerpiece of Malibu. Featuring state-of-the-art technology, this cutting-edge park promises far-reaching civic, environmental and educational benefits for residents of Malibu, visitors to California and for generations to come.

Legacy Park has been described this way:

  • It's an environmental learning experience for children of all ages.
  • Its home to five coastal habitats and Southern California's only coastal prairie.
  • It's an oasis.
  • It's an environmental cleaning machine for the ocean.
  • It's the heart of Malibu. It's one smart park.

“It’s the heart of Malibu.” I know they’re describing the park, but those words fit Miss Victoria Principal to a “T”.

Women’s Wear Daily recently ran an article about Victoria Principal’s newest skin-care line, Reclaim Botanical. Have I mentioned it? Ha Ha Yes, I know I’ve pretty much repeated everything in it, but that’s because I believe in her products so whole-heartedly that I want to share it with others.

So here’s just another fact about this line that I want to tell you about. One of the breakthrough products in the Reclaim Botanical repertoire that Victoria highlights in the article is the Fluid Eye Cream. She explained that this cream is intended to target the under-eye and upper eyelid areas. She went on to point out that these trouble spots usually go unaddressed by other skin-care brands.

That’s something I didn’t know and to be honest, makes me be somewhat suspicious of why those other brands can’t handle this especially sensitive part of the face.

“Not even dermatologists want to approach that area,” Victoria said, speaking of the upper eyelid. “It is fragile and close to the eye, so lasers can’t be used on it and toxic ingredients can damage it.”

Victoria went on to say, “Women, especially, as they age, the upper eyelid texture changes and the color changes. It becomes darker and freckled. It is distressing to most women, and this can help restore texture and brightness.”

And then to back up what she said, Miss Principal continued, “We have clinical testing that supports those results.”

That last sentence just serves to increase the respect and trust I have for Victoria Principal and anything she puts her name on.

September 1st, 2013

Happy Labor Day!

What better way to celebrate America’s work force than by taking the day off, staying home, and doing absolutely nothing. But that’s just me. Millions of others, however, still have to go in to their jobs today and work just so people like me can take it easy.

It wouldn’t surprise me one bit if Victoria was actually working in some sterile laboratory today, mixing ecologically-friendly potions and elixirs to create her next line of anti-aging and beauty products.

I’m kidding, of course, and in no way making light of Victoria’s work ethic. In fact, she’s one of the hardest working people I’m aware of. She sets such a positive example for women, and, in fact, I don’t think she has ever NOT worked in her life.

When people think of Victoria, first and foremost they remember her as a famous actress, a star in movies and television whose range is unimaginable. But most people don’t realize she began her own production company, Victoria Principal productions.

I don’t need to tell you that Miss Principal created a self-named line of beautify and skin care products, Principal Secret, which has amassed over $1.5 billion in sales to date and shows no sign of slowing down.

And then if I haven’t already mentioned it (ha! ha!) she JUST debuted her newest line of anti-aging products called Reclaim Botanicals. It wouldn’t surprise me one bit for Reclaim Botanicals to far surpass revenue from her previous line.

Her accomplishments continue. In 1995 Victoria was named "Entertainment Business Woman of the Year" by the National Association of Women Business Owners and received an honorary degree from Drexel University's Business School.

And she didn't stop there. In 2011 Miss Principal launched a line of jewelry called "Keys & Hearts". I have many pieces from this collection and have received more compliments on this jewelry than I have on anything else I own.

I could list more accomplishments and more accolades received by Victoria, but it's almost overwhelming to think of all she's done in her young life. She truly exemplifies the term "working woman". I didn’t even mention all her charity work or philanthropic endeavors.

Labor Day was created as a federal holiday in 1894, setting apart the first Monday in September to celebrate and value the role of workers and their work in American society. Ironically and fittingly, it allows for a day off resting and enjoying the fruits of one's successes.

That's the idea, but from what I know of Victoria Principal, she'll never sit back and take it easy, but will continue to labor even on Labor Day.

August 26th, 2013

It’s hard to believe summer is nearly over. But it’s true, and Labor Day Weekend is coming up in just a few days.

Victoria Principal had a busy summer … I’m sure you’ll remember that she made a very generous donation in order to fund TreePeople’s new mobile Text-to-Give and Text-to-Volunteer programs. This is technology at its finest, used to help prevent fires then respond to fires when and if they DO break out in Southern California.

That’s not all Victoria did this summer. I don’t have to tell you (but I will!) that after 10 years of meticulous research, she unveiled her new line of anti-aging products called Reclaim Botanical.

She appeared in a fascinating infomercial about these new products, which featured real women (as opposed to actors) who tried Reclaim Botanical then had question and answer sessions with Miss Principal. They were also afforded the opportunity to give their opinion on the products they tried, which were unanimously positive.

This was the part of the infomercial that I enjoyed the most because these women were real people I could relate to and they asked questions that I actually wanted to ask too.

So, that’s what Victoria did with HER summer. What did YOU do?

August 21st, 2013

This morning I read, again, the most recent article about Victoria Principal’s newest beauty line, Reclaim Botanical. Just like with her infomercial, I find something new every time I check it out.

This time, I realized that the fundamental premise of Victoria’s reasoning behind the creation of this line is that it was designed for people, who don’t want to undergo invasive procedures to get the look they want. Reclaim Botanicals offer a topical alternative, and, because Miss Principal is such a champion for the environment, her products are made from natural ingredients.

An example of this would be Victoria’s Radiant Recovery Moisture. If you’ve read many of my posts, you know I’m almost addicted (in a good way!) to moisturizing my skin. This cream is amazing because it delivers moisture for up to 24 hours. The article has a quote from Miss Principal saying, “That is pretty historical because, to date, most skin-care lines avoid telling you how long the moisture lasts.”

So there you go, just one more of the many reasons to use Victoria Principal’s brilliant products.

August 20th, 2013

I was recently in Lexington, Kentucky and had the privilege of visiting several of the thoroughbred horse farms. These farms are where Derby and Triple Crown winners come from.

They were absolutely stunning and everything you would imagine them to be. But seeing those amazing thoroughbreds up close was an experience I’ll never forget.

As I watched these athletes work out with their trainers, I recollected Victoria Principal interacting with a horse recently. A fan was visiting a ranch in Southern California this summer and saw Miss Principal as she and a horse shared some very real moments together. This fan had wanted to speak with Victoria, but felt like she would be intruding if she interrupted, so she didn’t.

I admire Miss Principal so much for her devotion and connection to all animals. She has such a big heart for wildlife and marine life and pets and everything in-between. As much as I adore Victoria Principal, I respect her just as much.

If you ever go to Kentucky, don’t leave without visiting a horse farm. That IS Kentucky!

August 15th, 2013

Kids are back in school! I must say I have mixed feelings … part of me already misses taking them on day trips, to visit friends, and to the pool, and part of me is glad I have my days back to myself. To me that means a "Dallas" marathon!

I always feel like I'm with my best friend when I watch Victoria Principal on my TV screen. I feel like I know her character, Pam Ewing, so well that I find myself talking to her during each episode. Then I laugh at myself and am glad no one is around to hear me.

I've said it before but I'll say it again … Victoria is the reason I watch "Dallas". She brings so much fun and class to her role, as well as spitfire and tigress. Never to be outdone, Miss Principal IS "Dallas" to me.

Now, let me get back to Southfork before the school bell rings and the kids bring me back to reality.

August 9th, 2013

Let me tell you about the most interesting article I just read in Women's Wear Daily. Victoria Principal spoke with Rachel Brown about Reclaim Botanical, which you know is Victoria’s new anti-aging skin care line.

I know I've been posting a lot recently about this amazing product, but as you probably already know I'm obsessed with anything Victoria does, and this is something worth talking about ... a LOT! Also, I'm so excited to try it for myself and see if everything she says in her infomercial is true and will really work for me. I believe it, but I want to see the results in my own mirror.

Every time I hear or read something new about Reclaim Botanical I learn something I hadn't known before. And that's the case with this article in Women's Wear Daily.

Victoria is a walking, talking breathing example of what her products can accomplish. I laughed when the article referred to her as a living advertisement for her brand, but it's true. I mean, just look at her and there's absolutely no doubt that these products work.

I learned something else in this article that I hadn't known before. Victoria personally phoned actress Helen Hunt and asked her to try her product. Now, Miss Hunt isn't known for giving endorsements, but she agreed to try Reclaim Botanical. Victoria said she "wanted someone to represent the brand who is superior, and I believe Helen is superior not only as an actress, but as a human being."

So Miss Hunt tried it and was "shocked at the results". She said Reclaim Botanical gave her "the most extraordinary results that she had seen or experienced."

Watch the infomercial for yourself and you can see Miss Hunt talking with Miss Principal. I was totally impressed that someone who doesn't do endorsements for skin care products, or for anything for that matter, can't say enough good things about Reclaim Botanical. Everything she says comes across as authentic and sincere.

I ordered the 90-day supply, which has six Reclaim Botanical products ~~ a cleanser, fluid eye cream, daily serum, day cream, night serum, and night cream ~~ which cost $39.95 per month. You can find it at the website. That price is ridiculously affordable, but I'm sure Miss Principal knows what she’s doing. It’s clear that she’s 100% confident in her product and she wants people to experience its goodness.

Not surprisingly, I have more to say about Reclaim Botanical and this article in Women's Wear Daily, but I'll wait for another day to post it. In the meantime, watch that infomercial if you haven't already and learn about this amazing product Miss Principal has created.

I just wanted to let you guys know that I ordered Victoria Principal's Reclaim Botanical anti-aging kit and can't wait for it to arrive. I'm anxious to get started on the 60-day regimen and see if it's everything it looks to be. Knowing Victoria's pristine reputation in the world of health and beauty products, I imagine it will be all that's promised.

I also ordered a kit for my sister and one for my husband. Yes, Miss Principal's Reclaim Botanical was created for all types of skin - male and female, all ages, and all races. She couldn't have made it any easier to look, feel, and actually have healthier and better skin.

I'll let you know when I start the 60-day program and will keep you posted of my progress along the way. I think I mentioned that there is a full money-back guarantee, even if I use every last drop in the jar. So I have absolutely nothing to lose and everything to gain. Couldn't be easier!

News is spreading fast about Victoria's generous donation! Below is another exciting story with a few more details. I encourage everyone to participate in any way you can.

Victoria Principal continues to amaze me with her dedication to and concern for the effects of nature on our Earth and the people who live here. She has funded TreePeople's new mobile Text-to-Give and Text-to-Volunteer programs. This technology helps prevent and respond to fires in Southern California in what LA County's Fire Chief calls "probably the most volatile fire season that's projected based on our 100-year history".

Miss Principal has funded this special project to help Southern Californians prepare and help prevent damage from what could be a devastating fire season, as well as help with deforestation when human assistant is needed.

"Miss Principal is one of TreePeople's first responders and most generous supporters when it comes to meeting urgent needs,"" said TreePeople Founder and President Andy Lipkis. "Her gift tremendously magnifies our impact by giving us the tools to involve thousands more people in preventing and responding to fire danger."

This new technology will enable the public to quickly and effectively communicate with people throughout Southern California so they can volunteer and provide donations that make TreePeople's work possible.

Those wanting to help can text TREE to 80888 and donate $10 to fire prevention and restoration efforts, payable through your mobile phone billing. Those wishing to sign up as volunteers in TreePeople’s hands-on ecological restoration efforts can text TREE, following by your full name and email to 51555.

More than half a million people are directly affected by fire danger in the Southern California communities, and Victoria is well-aware of the damage and devastation caused by uncontained wildfire.

"Having concerned donors like Miss Principal gives TreePeople the opportunity to get in front of emergencies and ensure that we have both physical and financial resources to protect and restore our local forests,"" said Craig Prizant, TreePeople’s Senior Director of Development and Marketing.

If you live in Southern California and want to be involved in this technological project Victoria has helped make possible, please do what you are able to protect your community from wildfire.

As always Victoria continues to amaze with her gifts!

I watched the infomercial about Miss Principal's newest anti-aging system agin and I'm so excited to tell you my first impressions.

The new line is called Reclaim Botanical and it sounds amazing. Knowing Miss Principal's impeccable reputation for her all beauty products, I'm absolutely positive this stuff is amazing.

Victoria has developed a beauty regime that will "reclaim", if you will, the skin we had when we were younger. The results from her products rival getting injections, going to expensive spas, laser treatments, peels. This is truly meaningful skin care.

It was really interesting because she invited real women, not actors, to try the regimen for 60 days and their satisfaction was 100% positive. That says a lot to me and to be honest, made me curious to try it for myself. Like with her previous line Victoria is so confident in Reclaim Botanical that she’s offering a full money-back guarantee if I don’t like it, even if I use every last drop of it.

I know I've written a lot, but I'm excited to try this line and tell all of Victoria's fans about this stuff. After I watch the infomercial again(I know I'm obsessded), I'll tell you more about it.

July 26th, 2013

As you know I am very excited about Miss Principal's new skin care line Reclaim Botanical. So excited I've been continuously channel surfing in an attempt to find the accompanying infomercial.

Last night I struck gold! I don't even know where to begin, luckily I was able to record it on my DVR. I'm going to go watch it again now and I promise to have an update for you later today!

July 22nd, 2013

HO! HO! HO!

It's Christmas in July! Are you wondering what I'm so jolly about? After 10 years of research and development, Victoria Principal has unveiled her newest and most effective beauty product line to date, Reclaim Botanical.

Miss Principal says this on the website: "I've traveled the world to find the most superior botanical ingredients in combination with unique scientific formulas that are exclusive to this line. This is elegant, high-end, full-spectrum skincare that is always exceptional, affordable and good for both your skin and the earth."

Isn't it just like Victoria to consider our planet when she created this product? I've posted many times about her deep devotion to the ecological welfare of the earth, and this is just further proof of her unending concern. No wonder she calls it "The Best of the World on Your Skin".

In the weeks to come I'll have more to say about Victoria's newest collection of anti-aging skin care formulas. I'm scouring the TV looking for a new infomercial! I can't wait!! In the mean time, I'll just say "Happy Holidays!"

July 15th, 2013

It's no secret that I find Victoria Principal breathtakingly beautiful. I mean, just look at her and you'll understand why I say this. But it's her intelligence that makes her all that much more attractive to me. Miss Principal is a very smart woman, and I admire that more than anything else.

Just look at some of her many accomplishments. Besides being a top-notch actor, in 1987 Victoria began her own production company, Victoria Principal Productions that primarily produced movies for television.

In addition to this endeavor, just two years later Victoria became interested in natural beauty therapies and created Principal Secret, a self-named line of skin care products. This company has amassed over $1 billion (USD) in sales to date, so you can't deny that it takes a smart woman to add this to her resume!

Victoria didn't stop there. In 1995 she was named "Entertainment Business Woman of the Year" by the National Association of Women Business Owners, and received an honorary degree from Drexel University's Business School. In 1999 she became the youngest ever recipient of the Genii Lifetime Achievement Award for women in television.

Wait. There's more. In 2003 Victoria became a member of the Society of Cosmetic Chemists and in 2011 she launched a line of jewelry called Keys & Hearts. For most people that would be a lifetime of accomplishments, but Miss Principal then went on to write four best-selling books.

However, one of the smartest things Victoria ever did was way back when she first signed her Dallas contract. She purposely omitted the clause that would have given the network the right to consent and profit from her outside endeavors. What? No dummy she, Victoria explained, "As a result, that's why you can only notice in hindsight, I was the only person in the cast who did commercials, who was doing movies-of-the-week, who wrote books, and these all belong to me. I retained the control and ownership of my image. No one owns me."

Now that, dear fans, is one very attractive and very smart woman. Indeed.

July 12th, 2013

I've been watching a lot of "Dallas" lately. It seems like especially in the summer I want to return to Southfork and be a part of all the drama and glamour.

In my opinion, Pamela Barnes Ewing, the amazing Victoria Principal in real life, had the best storylines and most definitely, the best scenes.

Victoria carried herself with so much class and beauty as Pam. I remember thinking, as I watched the series the first time around, that nobody ... and I mean nobody ... was more beautiful than Victoria Principal.

As lovely as Miss Principal is on the outside, she's equally gorgeous on the inside. Read some of my posts about all the charitable work she does, her philanthropy efforts, and being the voice of our wildlife and natural resources. Her inner beauty is abundant.

If you haven't watched a season of "Dallas" lately, there's no time like the present. Happy Watching!

July 9th, 2013

Today was perfect pool weather, so I spent a good portion of my day there. I take the barest essentials ... 2 towels, sunscreen, sunglasses, and a good book. Today was no different.

Three people asked me what I was reading today and I was proud to tell them, "Victoria Principal's 'The Diet' Principal", I told them.

Only one of them knew that Miss Principal is a best-selling author, having written 3 books about beauty, skin care, and health; and most recently, a 4th book to add to the list.

I took the opportunity to tell my fellow pool pals about Victoria's books and all of them said they would check them out. Thanks for asking, new friends, but now I want to go back to my reading.

July 4th, 2013

Know what I loved about "Dallas"? When Victoria Principal, as Pam Ewing, was "done wrong" and there were FIREWORKS!

Happy 4th of July to all of Victoria's fans! You're the best!

July 3rd, 2013

Nature is amazing in all that she gives us ... and she's just as amazing in all she takes away. On Monday, an out-of-control wildfire in Yarnell, Arizona stole the lives of 19 members of the Granite Mountain Hotshots, a team of elite firefighters known for extensive training and a demanding fitness regimen. One member of the team survived, as he was working away from the group at the time.

Victoria Principal is a strong proponent of our environment, yet I know she's mourning this loss as much as the rest of the country. Her compassion for all living things is always evident, so I'm sure her heart goes out to the families of these brave men.

The wildfire that was sparked by lightning on Friday continues to rage out-of-control and is zero percent contained. Over 400 firefighters are working around-the-clock trying to stop it.

Members of the Hotshots who lost their lives are: Anthony Rose, 23; Eric Marsh, 43; Robert Caldwell, 23; Clayton Whitted, 28; Scott Norris, 28; Dustin Deford, 24; Sean Misner, 26; Garret Zuppiger, 27; Travis Carter, 31; Grant McKee, 21; Travis Turbyfill, 27; Jesse Steed, 36; Wade Parker, 22; Joe Thurston, 32; William Warneke, 25; John Percin, 24; Kevin Woyjeck, 21; Chris MacKenzie, 30; and Andrew Ashcraft, 29.

Arizona Governor Jan Brewer ordered flags in the state be lowered to half-staff from sunrise Monday until sunset Wednesday in honor of the fallen firefighters.

The word "hero" gets thrown around too often. In the case of these brave men, however, hero exemplifies exactly who they were and they will never be forgotten.

July 1st, 2013

It's raining today and shows no sign of stopping. I have absolutely no reason to leave my house so I'm going to do one of my favorite things: snuggle up with my dog on the couch and have my own "Dallas" marathon. I know I always clarify, but to me "Dallas" means the original series, the one starring Victoria Principal.

I've chosen Season Three, and can't wait to see Pam Ewing fill the screen as one of the best characters ever on television. In my opinion, Miss Principal can do no wrong as the heroine of "Dallas", as the person I most identify with, and as the woman I'd love to be.

So I have my Caesar salad, a glass of iced tea, and the remote. I'm ready for that oh-so-familiar music as the first view of Southfork comes into view. And finally, Miss Victoria Principal as Pamela Barnes Ewing.

See ya!

June 28th, 2013

Victoria Principal has one of the prettiest smiles of anyone I know. Ok, I don't really know her personally, but that doesn't change how I feel about her gorgeous face.

Miss Principal has known for quite some time the secrets to looking so nice. In the mid-1980's she became interested in natural beauty therapies and it wasn't long before she created skin care products to share with others. Because of her knowledge and expertise, she became a member of the Society of Cosmetic Chemists.

I've never seen a photograph of Miss Principal, or seen her on TV or in a movie, where she didn't look beautiful. Not all over-the-top made-up beautiful, but classy beautiful. And that's the key to real beauty.

So it's no wonder Victoria has such a lovely smile. If I looked like her, I'd smile too.

June 23rd, 2013

Go outside tonight, look up, and I promise you won't be disappointed. And while I can't say for certain, but knowing Victoria Principal's love for all things astronomical, it's a good bet that she'll be watching too.

What's so special about looking up at the sky tonight? One of the biggest celestial events of the year, the Supermoon will be on full display for us to see.

There's no doubt Miss Principal could explain all this better, but I'll try. Also called a perigee moon, this remarkable event occurs when a full moon lines up with the Earth and the sun at a specific point in its orbit, called the lunar perigee. That's the point at which the moon is nearest Earth as it traces its elliptical path around our planet.

Since the moon is closer to us, it will appear to be 14 percent bigger and 30 percent brighter than usual. Cool, huh?

I know I'll enjoy seeing this celestial phenomenon tonight, but it will be extra special because I believe Victoria Principal will be watching it too.

June 21st, 2013

Today is Friday, June 21, 2013. Also known as the first day of summer and the Summer Solstice, today is the longest day of the year. I happen to have been born during the Winter Solstice, which is the shortest day of the year, but that's another story which I'll save for December.

Today also marks spring evolving into summer. Sounds simple, but it's actually an amazing phenomenon.

Victoria's respect for our planet is as immense as the universe itself. During this changing of the seasons it reminds me that we have limited resources here on Earth and we must take great care with all She has given us.

Victoria always lets us know that we can make a difference in our world if we only take the time and effort to learn how, and then put this knowledge into practice.

The cyclical design of nature is an amazing thing. Let's do what Victoria does as we enjoy the beginning of summer, and that is love our Earth, honor our Earth, and keep our Earth as magnificent as only She can be.

I've been watching in horror as once again, uncontrollable wildfires raged in Colorado. This time, though, it was personal. I used to live in the Black Forest area and am intimately familiar with the surrounding acreage burned to the ground over the weekend, along with all the neighboring homes, the church where I was married, and the community where I grew up.

I haven't lived in the area for a few years, but I have friends who do. They managed to escape with just a few belongings, their beloved animals, and their lives. Unfortunately, everything else is gone and their home and property is a total loss.

I'm sharing this because I know, first hand, what it means to have someone step up and help in times of natural disasters such as these wildfires.

Not surprisingly, Victoria Principal is one of those people. She feels enormous compassion for those affected ~~ for those whose homes were destroyed, for animals who were killed, injured or displaced, and for the land itself.

Victoria's heart is in the right place and her philanthropy is selfless. Her charity work dedicated to the environment is one of the things that continuously endear me .. and many others to her.

A lot of people have come to the aid of those trying to pick up the pieces of their lives after these wildfires. Recovery is long and arduous and Victoria knows this all too well. That's why her history of being one of the first to offer assistance is so admirable.

On behalf of my family in Black Forest, thank you to everyone who stepped up to help. You have no idea how much it's appreciated. Or, if you're anything like Victoria Principal, maybe you do know.

Happy Father's Day!

I know Victoria Principal has a lot of male fans, and I'm sure many of them are Dads. Today we honor those men and let them know how important they are to us.

Victoria's Father was in the United States Air Force when she was a child and as a result, she and her family moved all around the world and lived on many military bases. To say she had an interesting upbringing and experienced a lot when she was growing up would be an understatement.

Join me in saying to all the Fathers and Father-Figures out there, "Enjoy Your Day!"

June 13th, 2013

I was just thinking about all the accomplishments Victoria Principal has made in her lifetime (so far!). It seems like she approaches everything she does with a passion and a determination to succeed. And boy, does she ever succeed!

When Victoria moved to Hollywood in 1970 she had no money, no car, no agent, and no prior television or movie-making experience besides the commercials she had made as a child and teenager.

You'd probably be surprised to know what she did to support herself at this time. She taught Backgammon!

Victoria had learned all the ins and outs of the game while living in London, and it was just then becoming popular in the United States as well. So when many would have just given up, Miss Principal took this skill and just did what she had to do.

Nine months later, Victoria had a car and an agent (although still little money) so she auditioned and won her first film role as Marie Elena, in "The Life and Times of Judge Roy Bean". She played against Paul Newman in the movie and earned a Golden Globe Nomination as Most Promising Newcomer.

So it just goes to show you that although she had little else, Victoria had the motivation, the foresightedness, and yes, the passion to see what she wanted to achieve and then she did it.

I never learned to play Backgammon. Maybe someday Victoria Principal will return to her days teaching the game and I can finally learn. Until then, I'll just stick with Parcheesi.

It's about that time again ... time to get outside and enjoy the warmth of summer. Before you know it, though, the warm days will turn into HOT days, and that means some extra attention to my skin.

I spend a lot of time outdoors in the summer, and take my cue from Victoria Principal when it comes to keeping my skin healthy. I always slather on sunscreen before the rays even think about touching me. I also put on a ton of moisturizing lotion and reapply it often throughout the day. It not only feels great, but I know it's helping to keep my skin hydrated and healthy.

Victoria's skin is flawless. She knows how important it is to keep the sun rays at bay when she's outside enjoying her day. Thanks to her, I, too, know what I need to do.

If something as easy as putting on lotion and drinking lots of water will help me stay healthy, not to mention look better, then you'd better believe I'm going to do it.

We have seen an amazing response online to the news of Victoria's support of the Red Star animal rescue. Below are a few links to our favorite articles about her donation.

Once again, Victoria Principal is leading by example in the wake of the recent F-5 tornado that devastated Moore, Oklahoma. She is strongly urging everyone to make a generous donation, just as she has, to the American Humane Association to support their Red Star Rescue Team.

Team members are currently conducting search, rescue and sheltering operations with the goal of reuniting displaced pets with their families. Within hours of the storm, the Team was deployed and had covered over 2,000 combined miles of the affected area.

Red Star and local animal welfare professionals set up a temporary shelter at the city's fairgrounds to give these animal victims a safe place to stay and food to eat. In some cases medical attention is needed and provided by local veterinarians. Medical needs include dehydration and upper respiratory problems caused by dust and/or stress from the disaster and upheaval of their lives.

So much is needed for these helpless animals. There is an urgent call for rescue equipment, food, vitally needed medication, housing crates, general supplies, and personnel services for logistics and deployment of this very important work. It doesn't just happen. It takes money to make it happen.

And this is where Miss Principal is calling on her legion of fans.

"For nearly 100 years, the American Humane Association's legendary Red Star Rescue Team has been helping animals in their times of greatest need. Right now, the Team is on the ground in Oklahoma saving lives, providing care and comfort to frightened animals that have lost their homes, their families and everything they know. I call on everyone who cares about animals to support the American Humane Association's tremendous efforts to rescue as many animals as possible and return them to their families. Please do whatever you can to help them now. For so many children, families and communities, life will never be the same until their beloved pets are back safely in their arms."

Dr. Robin Ganzert, President and CEO of the American Humane Association, said, "We are so grateful to have Victoria Principal speak out on behalf of the animals of Oklahoma and we thank her and her many followers for their love and concern for those in greatest need. Thank you!"

As of yesterday, 76 pets have been gratefully reunited with their loving families. With the continued and constant efforts of the Red Star Rescue Team, it is hoped that all of the animals in the shelter will be returned to the people who are, no doubt, frantically searching for them.

To read more about the Red Star search and rescue efforts in Oklahoma, go here:.

You can also learn more about their work during other times of need, such as rescuing horses on the battlefields of World War I, Pearl Harbor, 9/11 and last year's Hurricane Sandy. The Team has rescued and sheltered more than 70,000 animals in just the past five years.

Victoria asks that you go to www.americanhumane.org or call 1-866-242-1877 right now to make your donation. Anything helps and is appreciated.

I was playing around on YouTube this afternoon and came across a video that is one of the sweetest things I've ever seen.

In 1981 Andy Gibb was hosting an episode of "Solid Gold" on TV and welcomed his special guest, Miss Victoria Principal. They exchanged a few pleasantries then sang the beautiful Everly Brothers love song, "All I Have to Do Is Dream".

As you watch this video, you can't help but notice the way Andy and Victoria look at each other ... sweetly, happily, yet almost shyly and for certain, lovingly. Their voices meld so well together, it's almost as if they were meant to sing duets forever.

We all know the sad ending to the story of Victoria Principal and Andy Gibb. Their "forever" could not last and Andy left us much too soon when he was much too young.

But let's not forget all the happy times they shared too. Please enjoy the lovely video on youtube.

Happy Memorial Day Everyone!

Today we remember and honor the men and women who died while serving in the United States Armed Forces. I feel certain that Memorial Day holds a special meaning for Victoria Principal since she was born into a military family and grew up on US Air Force bases around the world.

I'm grateful that Miss Principal eventually found her way to Southern California to pursue her career in show business. Of all the places she'd seen and done as she traveled the world and with her talent to do pretty much anything she wanted with her life, how cool is it that Victoria decided to become an actor and eventually star in one of the best dramas ever on television.

I'm sure Miss Principal feels the same way as we offer our appreciation to all of those who have served or are currently serving our country in the United States Armed Forces.

Thank you!

May 22nd, 2013

Once again, tragedy has struck our nation. Like me, I'm sure Victoria Principal is grieving the loss of lives and property in Moore, Oklahoma after the massive tornado that struck a few days ago.

Victoria has always been one of the first people to give of herself when a natural disaster hits our homeland. She does her good deeds silently and sometimes anonymously, never wanting to draw attention to herself at a time when all eyes should be on the victims.

At the time of this post, there are 24 fatalities from the storm, with 10 of those dead being children. I know Miss Principal's heart aches for the families of each and every one of them.

Victoria's compassion knows no bounds and her wealth of human kindness has no limit.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Oklahoma at this very sad time.

One of my closest friends will soon be going overseas for two months. While this sounds very exciting and exotic to me, I'm too much of a homebody to leave things that are familiar for that long. Not only that, I don't believe I could tolerate being on an airplane for 18 hours each way.

To make her travel time more pleasurable and her flights pass by a little quicker, I've given my friend one of Victoria Principal's books to take with her. Living Principal, which topped The New York Times Bestseller List in 2001, is one of my favorite books and I hope this will allow my friend to enjoy a little bit of home while she's away.

I've read all of Miss Principal's books and often give them as gifts to my friends. With all she has going on in her life, it never ceases to amaze me that Victoria is also a best-selling author. It's always with a sense of pride that I choose her books as gifts for those I care about most.

By the way, my friend is going overseas to do research for her own book that she's writing. I hope she's able to gain inspiration from my favorite author and enjoy the read along the way.

May 15th, 2013

Here's something I'll bet you don't know about Victoria Principal. She started her career in show business when she was only 5-years-old, when she was featured in TV commercials. I watch my niece, who just turned 5, and as much as I adore her, I can't imagine her being mature and disciplined enough to work in television.

The powers that be surely saw the potential in young Victoria when they hired her. I'm sure they must have watched with great pride as she grew and developed as an actor and eventually portrayed one of the greatest iconic characters ever on television. Little did 5-year-old Victoria know then that she would one day give us Pam Ewing starring in "Dallas".

While my niece has no aspirations (that we know of) to be an actor (aside from showing off for her family) I'm sure I join all of Miss Principal's fans world-wide in our joy that she knew all along what she wanted to be when she grew up.

Happy Mother's Day!

You know, Mother's Day isn't just for Mothers, despite what the name implies. As more and more important and influential women become a vital part of my life, I've expanded my Mother's Day best wishes list to include those who are extra special to me, in addition to my own Mother.

Of course, my mom means the world to me, but there's also my sister, a couple of extraordinary aunts, a really close friend and one or two others who I like to remember on Mother's Day. And while Victoria Principal is nowhere nearly old enough to be my parent, I still wish I could personally acknowledge how much she means to me.

I admire Miss Principal in so many ways ... too many to list here. Besides, just reading the posts on this fan site makes it obvious how much I like her and everything she stands for. It would be impossible to choose the single most trait that endears me to Victoria, but if I had to absolutely choose what I respect most, it would have to be her commitment to and compassion for wildlife and marine life.

Animals, nature, ecology, conservation ... all make my heart smile when I can do something in their favor. I believe Miss Principal's own heart smiles for the same reasons.

And while Victoria clearly is not my mom, I want to wish her a Happy Mother's Day because of all she does for me ... and she doesn't even know it.

I've been watching the news with real concern for those who have been affected by the wildfires in Southern California. As the flames reached the Pacific Coast Highway and traveled toward Malibu, my thoughts immediately went to Victoria Principal.

Miss Principal has a home in Malibu and I'm sure she, too, watched with fear and disbelief as the smoke swept closer and closer to her community and evacuation seemed imminent. Those who were told to leave their houses to escape the fires already numbered in the thousands. I was as worried as anyone that Victoria would also have to go elsewhere and only hope her home, property and belongings would survive.

I can only imagine the relief Victoria must feel now that the wildfires have been controlled and stopped. There's no way I can know how scary it was for Miss Principal and her neighbors.

Besides the possibility of her home being damaged or destroyed, I know Victoria must continue to worry about how these fires have negatively impacted the environment and wildlife. Those issues are very close to her heart and I'm sure she's watching closely as those aspects of the fires are dealt with.

My thoughts will stay with Victoria even though it appears this horrific ordeal has passed, and I hope you'll send good wishes her way as well. Please, also join me in showing our appreciation for the continued bravery of these courageous firefighters.

We love you, Victoria!

Happy Derby Day! There are few things as beautiful as Churchill Downs on the first Saturday in May. I love to watch, take in all the color of the jockey's silks, see the hundreds of thousands of roses, smile at the fancy hats, drink a mint julep and yes, cry just a little when the whole country sings "My Old Kentucky Home".

Oh, and did I mention the horses? Not just any horse, but 3-year-old thoroughbreds who were born for this day.

Once again, watching the Kentucky Derby reminds me of Victoria Principal and her deep love for horses. All horses. Not just the cream of the crop who earn a spot in the Run for the Roses.

I'm reminded again of her recent visit to a ranch in Malibu where a fan saw her interacting with a horse. The fan was intrigued by the way Victoria touched and talked to this horse. Victoria was communicating in such an intimate way that could only be expressed by someone who had a real connection to such an animal.

I hope Victoria watches the Kentucky Derby. I know I will!

May is upon us one again and April's Pink Moon is waning. No, the moon didn't really have a pink hue. It's called this because it heralds the appearance of the moss pink, or wild ground phlox, one of the first of the spring flowers. In case you're wondering, May's full moon is appropriately called the Flower Moon.

It's no secret that Victoria Principal has a deep interest in the moon and stars, the planets and space travel. What her fans may not know is that she actually has a plan to make her dream of a trip to outer space a reality.

Miss Principal was the first woman to sign up when it was announced that the VSS Enterprise would be the first commercial passenger spacecraft. It absolutely amazes me that Victoria will be on board an actual spaceship when it flies to the edge of space … that she really and truly has a "ticket to ride".

Miss Principal told People magazine, "Going into space fulfills many desires I have of seeing the planet, going fast, going someplace very few people have been ~~ and hopefully coming back down!"

I hope Victoria makes her trip to space during the month of April. If she does, maybe she can tell us if, up close, the moon really is pink.

A fan named Melissa who works in Malibu saw this in the Malibu Times today and sent it to me here at the fan site. Melissa was so moved by the plight of these California Sea Lion Pups that she immediately made a donation to the Wildlife Center. She then noticed at the bottom of the ad it stated the ad was paid for by a donation from the Victoria Principal Foundation. She asked me to share this photograph with other fans of Victoria Principal in hopes that they, too, will search their collective conscience and make a generous donation. Thank you so much, Melissa.

My heart breaks when I look at this photograph. Helpless sea lion pups are dying on California beaches in inordinate numbers and it appears to be a lost cause. But it doesn't have to be.

Victoria Principal wants her fans to know that we can help save the lives of these small, young creatures by giving what we can to the California Wildlife Center. By contributing to the Center, more of these precious animals can be rescued before they perish on the very beaches where we play.

As I've posted on this site many times, Victoria has a deep love and respect for wildlife and marine life and is totally committed to helping these creatures. Doing all she can for these sea lion pups who are washing ashore dehydrated and emaciated is a prime example of how dedicated she is to remedying such a sad truth.

Please join Miss Principal as she fights to save the lives of these pups who can't fight for themselves. Right now, right this very minute, go to the California Wildlife Center website and click on the "Donate" tab at www.cawildlife.org before another life is lost.

Thank you.

Happy Earth Day Everybody!

I love Earth Day. It's the perfect time to get outside and enjoy this amazing world that we have. It's also the time to re-commit ourselves to doing everything we can to keep our planet healthy.

This is something that is near and dear to Victoria's heart. She speaks about taking care of our Earth at every opportunity, and how we should all be aware and appreciative of this place we call home. As with all things she is passionate about, Miss Principal leads by example every single day and encourages each of us to do the same.

Victoria's words say it all:

"My deepest concern is for the planet and every living thing on it. Without a healthy planet, education won't matter, hunger won't matter, and science won't matter because we will not survive. Unless we rectify the damage we have done to our land and our oceans, then I truly believe the planet will reclaim itself. If it is true that you reap what you sow, then all of humanity should be very frightened."

As fans of Victoria Principal, let's follow in her footsteps and save and protect planet Earth. Now get out there and enjoy Earth Day 2013!

I'm sure you have noticed that I haven't brought up the new "Dallas" season finale. I was very torn after the airing and then after reading some comments in the press by a producer of the current show I was very frustrated. I was having a hard time figuring out exactly what I wanted to say and then I saw this post on a Dallas message board. It is perfect, and I had to share it with you.

"Has anyone noticed that even though Dallas is off the air and hasn't been picked up for a third season that Cynthia Cidre can't seem to stop thinking about or stop talking about Victoria Principal. Isnt that what got her into so much trouble already. She tried to use Pam/VP to bait and hook us but VP stepped up and told the truth about her not returning without ever pointing a finger.

Cidre

Principal

Checkmate!"

I was looking at the recent pictures of Victoria Principal interacting with the horse and just had to re-read the story about how the photos came to be. Like the first time I saw this, it made me smile and feel good.

As a serious animal-lover myself, it makes me happy that Miss Principal also cares about animals as much as she does. Not only that, a great deal of her philanthropic work is ear-marked for helping these creatures who can't help themselves.

Victoria's compassion for sea life, for instance, is evidenced by her never-ceasing work to stop the seismic testing destined to occur in the Atlantic Ocean. If this comes to fruition, helpless dolphins, whales and other marine mammals will be killed or injured and their natural day-to-day activities that are vital to their lives will be disrupted and destroyed.

The very thought of this horrific lack of consideration has spurred Victoria into action in an attempt to stop this testing.

This is just one aspect where Miss Principal supports and defends wildlife in our oceans. She does so very much in other areas as well. As a woman who knows what her heart wants to say, she listens then follows her heart, even when it isn't easy.

April 15th, 2013

Our hearts go out to those affected by the bombing incident at the Boston Marathon today. There's no doubt that Victoria Principal shares this sentiment as we all watch and wonder how and why terrorism continues in our small world.

As has been posted on this site many times, Miss Principal's compassion for others knows no bounds. I'm sure it's difficult for her, as it is for all of us, to see the suffering these innocents have had to endure.

Please, as fans of Victoria Principal, do whatever it is you do to send thoughts of peace and goodness out into the universe. Remember those in Boston at this incredibly sad time. Do all you can to stay safe. Love one another. Pray.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: Victoria Principal has the best fans in the world. I have some very exciting news. I was sent this message and the following pictures from a fellow fan that lives in the Los Angeles area.

Thank you so much for your thoughtfulness and for reaffirming what I'll always maintain, that Victoria Principal has the best fans in the world.

"Jenny, I was at the stables taking my daughter to her riding lesson and this woman working with a thoroughbred caught my eye. I was struck by her gentleness and what seemed to be an amazing connection with this beautiful thoroughbred. I walked over to get a closer look and saw that it was none other than Victoria Principal! Being a huge fan I almost ran back to my husband I was so excited. He told me to take a picture because my friends would never believe me. I was able to snap a couple of quick shots, I didn't want to bother Victoria since it seemed like she and the horse were in such a good place. I hope you can post these photo's on your site. I love reading your posts and the news you share with us."

When I watch "Dallas", I can't help but notice how much Victoria Principal loved her time on the iconic TV series. And as much as I obviously loved watching her as Pam Ewing, I admire Miss Principal for her decision to leave acting and devote her life to other opportunities. It's clear she had talent for her many career choices and has experienced a great deal of pleasure from the other avenues she chose to follow.

Not everyone can have multiple careers and be as successful as Victoria has been. The respect I hold for her is immense, and I wish her nothing but the best as she continues on her road to success and the happiness it brings.

Warmth, finally, and glorious sunshine! I think spring is finally showing herself and I, for one, am thrilled to see her. With spring come thoughts of summer and naturally, the notion that I need to get ready for swimsuit weather. Now I just need to find motivation.

Motivation comes easily in the form of Miss Victoria Principal. Fortunately for her appreciative viewers, we were treated to visions of Miss Principal in her swimsuit fairly often on "Dallas" during its heyday in the late 70's and early 80's.

I remember watching Pam Ewing lounging by the swimming pool on Southfork, her figure flawless as she came out of the sparkling blue water or simply standing in the warm sunshine.

Now its time to go watch a few episodes for motivation, no pizza this time!

March 27th, 2013

Just when I thought spring was here, we have snow. So what better way to celebrate Easter and Passover week than by having another of my famous "Dallas"-watching slumber parties. Remember, when I speak of "Dallas" I'm always referring to the original series, the one starring my favorite actress of all time, Victoria Principal.

When Victoria's character, Pamela Barnes Ewing, came on the screen, I was captivated. She brought Pam to life in a way that other actresses could only hope to present. And she made it look so effortless that I almost believed the door might open and Pam would walk in.

So I've called the pizza guy and popped open a bottle of red wine and my friends and I have settled in to watch Season Three of "Dallas". The only thing missing are my two favorite women in the world.... Victoria Principal and Pam Ewing.

Victoria Principal is such a classic beauty that it's not surprising she's been on the cover of many magazines throughout her career. She graced the cover of "People" magazine several times, and I've added photos of some of those covers here for you to enjoy.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

I know Victoria Principal isn’t Irish, but I never like to pass up an opportunity to post good wishes to her fans. It also gives me a chance to say "Thank You" to all of you for visiting this blog and reading what's on my mind.

I love being a Victoria Principal fan. She's such a good person and so down-to-earth. You'd think with all of her fame and being a celebrity that she'd be different. But she's not. She's got a heart the size of Texas (Dallas-sized!) and her integrity knows no limits.

Plus, Victoria is so beautiful in every way and enjoys sharing what she knows with those who truly want to look and feel better.

I could go on and on about my reasons for being a fan of Miss Principal, but since you're reading this, you're no doubt a fan too and know for yourself why it's so easy to love her.

Please write me at this blog and tell me some of YOUR favorite reasons why you're a fan of Victoria Principal.

Erin go Bragh!

Winter is still with us, but that doesn't stop me from thinking ahead to spring. I'm not alone, either, as my nephew is starting to plan Spring Break from college. Along with thousands of other young people, he's going to the Gulf Coast to enjoy a week of sea, sand, and sun.

This wouldn't be possible without the dedication and generosity of those who care enough about our environment to commit themselves to saving our oceans and beaches.

First to come to mind is Victoria Principal. She donated $200,000 to the cleanup effort in the Gulf Coast region after the disastrous oil spill in 2010. Her efforts brought together two huge environmental non-profits, Oceana and natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) to work together to save and restore the area.

Additionally, Miss Principal appeared with other celebrities on a CNN-sponsored telethon to support the Gulf Coast cleanup. She appeared on a discussion panel with Larry King, answered phones, and spoke with donors to raise over $1.8 million.

My admiration for Victoria Principal as a philanthropist never ceases. It's because of her and others like her that my nephew and legions of other students will be able to enjoy their much-deserved Spring Break in the Gulf Coast states.

Thank you, Victoria!

Now that its official Victoria won't be returning to "Dallas", I've been looking through some of the screen caps from her days on the original "Dallas". She was (and still is!) so beautiful. In real life, as Victoria Principal, she seemed like she was having fun in her role, was full of energy, and it was clear she was enjoying her life.

I've selected a few of my favorite screen caps of Victoria as Pam. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

March 5th, 2013

UPDATE:Susie has sent us the picture she took this year. It looks beautiful.

UPDATE: For the Second year in a row Susie went out to Andy Gibb's grave and again there were flowers from Victoria. 11 Red Roses and 1 White Rose. They had such an amazing love story. My heart goes out to Victoria today, it must be so hard.

One of Andy Gibb's fans sent us this photo today. Today would have been Andy's 54th birthday had he not tragically died in 1988. Well when one of his fans went to his grave site today to pay their respects on his birthday they found 11 Red Roses and 1 White Rose. We have been chatting for a whole year now trying to figure out the meaning of the 11 Red and 1 White Rose and are completely stumped.(If anyone has any ideas please let me know!) The only thing we know is it's obvious Victoria still cares for Andy a great deal. So tragic, she lost the love of her life at such a young age.

UPDATE: We've had a few other fans let us know they have seen the same 11 Red Roses and 1 White in previous years so it must be something Victoria does every year on his birthday.

March 1st, 2013

We can all stop the speculation that Victoria may return to what I like to call "New Dallas". In a statement to Deadline Hollywood Here. Victoria went on the record and released a statement with her reasoning for not bringing Pam back. This is exactly how I've always felt, I just haven't been able to articulate it as well as Ms. Principal. I'll let you enjoy her statement below.

"Since the inception of 'Dallas', the creators and fans around the world have referred to Bobby and Pam, as the Romeo & Juliet of 'Dallas'. I could not agree more. And since the original author of this scenario, William Shakespeare, felt compelled to make theirs a tragic love story, of epic and unforgettable deathly loss, I think I shall respect that very successful example, and leave the legacy of Bobby & Pam's tragic love story, undisturbed and intact.

When I filmed Pam's fatal car accident, for me that was the punctuation mark on my role as Pam. I cannot be held responsible for any choices made by producers, once I left 'Dallas', but I do take responsibility for my decision, not to risk tarnishing Bobby & Pam's love story, with a desperate reappearance. I made this decision a long time ago with a loving and respectful heart for 'Dallas', Bobby & Pam and all faithful fans."

Miss Principal was on the 'Dallas' producers' return wish list but alas, it's not to be.

For me and all the other faithful fans of the original 'Dallas', we'll forever hold fond memories of Victoria Principal as Pamela Barnes Ewing.

February 25th, 2013

I loved how Victoria Principal looked in Season Two of "Dallas". Her portrayal of Pam Ewing was flawless and her appearance just as perfect.

Miss Principal has always looked spectacular, but the clothes she wore in this iconic television series showcased her amazing figure in every episode. Likewise, her hair and make-up exemplified the beauty that is Victoria.

February 21st, 2013

My ideal job would be naming Beanie Babies. Yes, I'm serious. I love playing with names and studying how and why they originated. I also enjoy trying to figure out if a person's name fits them ... you know, if they "look" like their name.

"Victoria", not surprisingly, means "victor" or "conqueror". If ever a name was appropriate for someone, Miss Principal's is right on target.

It seems that everything she's ever attempted she's turned into a success. Victoria's never been one to turn away from a challenge or a difficult task; in fact, she seems to thrive on it. Just look at all she's accomplished, and done well, and you'll agree Victoria just wouldn't be Victoria if she was named anything else.

February 17th, 2013

Rain, rain, go away, come again another day.

That's part of a children's rhyme, but I don't always agree with it. In fact, I love the rain and enjoy nothing more than a dark, dreary, stormy day or night.

This is a good thing, as we've been having lots and lots of rain these past couple of days. So I put another log on the fire, settled into my easy chair, and opened one of Victoria Principal's best-selling books. I chose "Living Principal", one of my favorites.

Nothing is more inspiring and motivating than reading Victoria's words and knowing she actually lives what she writes about. The proof of her astounding knowledge is evident by just looking at her and her life.

Thank you, Victoria Principal, for turning a rainy day into such a pleasurable afternoon.

February 14th, 2013

Happy Valentines Day. Here is my treat for the day!

I enjoy looking at screencaps of Pam Ewing, as portrayed by Victoria Principal, from the original version of "Dallas". Because I watch the show so much, I can almost look at a picture of Victoria and know when season and which episode the scene is from.

I'm posting 2 or 3 of my favorites so you can enjoy them too. Let me know which episode of "Dallas" with Victoria Principal is your favorite. I'll bet some of your favs are the same as mine.

February 11th, 2013

Because I have such admiration for Victoria Principal, it makes me happy to know that we share some "favorite things". Today I was thinking about one particular interest we have in common, and that is our mutual love of space travel.

Did you know Victoria once wrote a movie script about the first female astronaut, even before that was a reality. Back then, women just weren't being considered for space travel, yet Victoria was ahead of her time in imagining and writing about this very thing.

And just like Miss Principal, two of my favorite movies are "2001: A Space Odyssey" and "The Right Stuff".

I can't wait until Victoria realizes her dream of traveling into outer space. I'm sure it can't come soon enough for her either.

February 6th, 2013

Everybody I know is sick, and I'm one of them. So I decided to make the best of a bad situation and settled in bed with orange juice, Kleenex, and my remote control. And in the DVD player ... Season one of "Dallas", the original version starring Miss Victoria Principal.

Even when I'm feeling at my worst, Miss Principal has a way of cheering me up as she portrays the incomparable Pamela Barnes Ewing.

In fact, in between sniffles and sneezes, I found myself smiling and enjoying my day in bed.

Thank you, Victoria!

February 1st, 2013

I was recently looking through some old magazines that featured Victoria Principal, and it's such fun to see the pictures and read the articles. Because I'm such a big fan, I believe I know everything there is to know about her, but it seems I'm always surprised by some little tidbit.

For instance, I had forgotten that Miss Principal enrolled in College with the intention of studying medicine. However, her studies were cut short after a serious traffic accident involving a drunk driver.

Wouldn't that have been a trip? To wake up from surgery and find Dr. Principal standing over you? I would have thought I'd died and gone to Heaven.

January 27th, 2013

The second season of the "Dallas" remake is about to start, and that just makes me nostalgic for the real "Dallas", the original series starring Miss Victoria Principal. When I remember what a class act she was, I wish there was a way the show could be resurrected with her and the rest of the cast.

Since that's not going to happen, I have to be satisfied with watching the DVDs I have of the series. I enjoy Miss Principal's stellar performance of Pam Ewing so much that I've almost got her dialogue memorized in each episode.

But that doesn't stop me from sitting glued to the TV screen whenever Victoria appears. I don't think I'll ever get tired of seeing her in the real "Dallas", and so I'm off to watch her right now. Yay for me!

January 23rd, 2013

I love going through my collection of magazines with Victoria Principal featured on the covers. She's such a classic beauty, and I never get tired of looking at these beautiful pictures of her.

I thought I'd post a few so you, too, can enjoy the lovely lady on the covers … Miss Victoria Principal.

Check these out!

January 19th, 2012

More rain, more sleet, more freezing temperatures. Ugh. Cabin fever has kicked in right on cue ... mid-January. Time for some relief in the form of watching some Victoria Principal movies.

So I'm going to pop some popcorn, make a pot of green tea(my favorite!) and watch "The Life and Times of Judge Roy Bean" and "Earthquake".

What Miss Principal does with the characters she portrays is always amazing and brings me real enjoyment.

So Let it Snow! Let it Snow! Let it Snow! because I'll be warm and content with Victoria Principal.

January 13th, 2012

Those who work in show business call this time of year "award season", and that's because there are so many such programs that take place within a short span of a few weeks. These award shows recognize and honor the outstanding work of those in the industry in a myriad of categories. Some of these shows are the Critics Choice, People's Choice, Screen Actors Guild, Academy Awards (the Oscars) and my favorite, the Golden Globes.

It's not easy to land on the short list for any one of these accolades, so I find it doubly amazing that Victoria Principal did that very thing for her very first film role. Indeed, she earned a Golden Globe Nomination as Most Promising Newcomer for her portrayal of Paul Newman's Mexican mistress, Marie Elena, in the 1972 film "The Life and Times of Judge Roy Bean".

Victoria's acting and directing accomplishments since that early recognition are numerous, but each one is well-deserved and in my opinion, all are worthy of the highest award out there.

January 10th, 2013

Victoria inspires me on so many levels. On this fan site I write about the different ways she motivates and moves me, and how I strive to see and enjoy life as she does.

Of course I'm not a famous personality, but it's not about that. It's about taking care of me as best I can, it's about how I present myself to the world, and it's about being a genuinely good person. These qualities, I believe, reflect on just what Victoria Principal has learned, decided on, and created for herself.

It's not always easy to achieve what she has accomplished in life. But being as much like Victoria is something I can, and will, aspire to.

January 3th, 2012

Happy Birthday, Victoria Principal!

Another year has passed and it's been one full of love and compassion from this lovely woman. She again gave to those in this world less fortunate than herself, and as always, she did it with grace. Victoria reached out to those who couldn't help themselves, and it's this benevolence toward the unprotected that makes her special in my eyes. I have so much admiration for Miss Principal as she quietly donates her time, talent and monetary gifts without bringing attention to herself.

I hope you're reading this, Victoria, because I want to wish you the very best of everything in 2013. I hope you stay happy, healthy, prosperous and as spiritually balanced in the upcoming year as you have been for as long as I've been a fan. Miss Principal, you're beautiful on the inside and you're beautiful on the outside and I love you.

December 31st, 2012

Does everybody have something fun planned for New Year's Eve? I usually have friends over for the evening, but this year I'm going out. I'm excited, too, because this gives me the chance to get all dressed up and wear the perfume and earrings my husband gave me for Christmas.

When I dress up for special occasions I feel glamorous, not unlike the ladies in "Dallas". I loved the clothes Victoria Principal wore as she portrayed Pamela Barnes Ewing. And not just the clothes, but the jewelry and shoes and even bathing suits Miss Principal showed off were just amazing. I've always admired a woman who could wear her clothes, and not let the clothes wear her, and Victoria is just that woman.

So I hope everybody has a FUN and SAFE New Year's Eve. Enjoy yourself and may you all have a happy, healthy and prosperous 2013!

Victoria Principal

I love getting mail here at the Victoria Principal Fan Site. There's no doubt in my mind that Miss Principal has the best fans in the world, and the following letter is a perfect example of your devotion and admiration for her.

Betty, a long-time fan, sent me a letter last year with a couple of pictures attached and asked if I could post them on the site. I don't usually do this, but her story is so heart-warming that I'm making an exception for the second year. I think it's such an amazing story that I plan to post this every year!

So please, enjoy Betty's letter as much as I did and thank you Betty for sharing.

Betty

A few days have passed now since the unimaginable shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut. I didn't want to write anything immediately, as I needed to sort it all out in my head first.

Well, that didn't happen, as this totally senseless massacre is impossible to figure out.

I have to believe that Miss Principal is as horrified and baffled by this as the rest of the country ... the rest of the world, for that matter. She is so full of compassion for other people that this mass murder of first graders and the women who tried to protect them must be especially heart-breaking.

I also believe that Miss Principal would want all her fans to unite as a kindred spirit and send silent messages of love and hope to the families of these women and of these tiny victims. So let's take just a moment and remember them with benevolence and tender mercies, and be grateful we were given another day to live.

December 14th, 2012

A friend of mine started watching "Dallas" revisited, as I call the series that tried to model the original but, in my opinion, failed miserably. She couldn't get into it at all and asked me what the big deal was with my fascination for the series.

I explained to her that the original "Dallas", the real one starring Victoria Principal, was absolutely nothing like this new version other than the names and the location.

I told her she needed to watch the original from Episode One and she, too, would be hooked. I started to describe how Pamela Barnes first came to Southfork and how, as Pam Ewing she had quite an interesting life on the ranch that became her home.

From my descriptions alone, especially how Victoria totally reigned as the Queen of Primetime TV Drama, she now can't wait to watch it herself from the very beginning.

So there's another gift crossed off my Holiday list. I just finished wrapping the Season 1 DVDs of the original "Dallas" for my friend. And best of all, I'll get to watch it with her!

December 10th, 2012

It's no surprise that I'm not a fan of the new, re-tooled "Dallas". But it's also true that I wouldn't miss a single episode if Victoria Principal was to reprise her role as Pamela Barnes Ewing.

Because her co-star, Larry Hagman, recently passed away, there's a big void to fill on the show. Rumor has it that producers are again in talks with Miss Principal to try and win her back. Word is, they are "begging" her. Of course, there are several hurdles in the way if this is to happen.

For one thing, she lives in Los Angeles and the show is now filmed entirely in Dallas. Because Victoria has a multi-million-dollar skincare business to run in LA, it may be difficult to work out her filming schedule.

Also, her character Pam Ewing, was suffering from a terminal disease in the original "Dallas". Although she never "died", Miss Principal was never seen again on the show and her character's husband remarried.

But these minor problems could be rectified, and the producers have assured Miss Principal that they would do whatever needed to be done to accommodate her if she would return.

So while she has no immediate plans to once again be a part of the gang at Southfork, let's hope she'll have a change of heart, reconsider and say yes. In other words, Never Say Never!

Dallas Desperate for Victoria Principal

December 7th, 2012

Victoria's hair has always intrigued me. One of the reasons I enjoyed watching her portray Pam Ewing on "Dallas" was to follow Miss Principal's fashion sense, make-up and hairstyle.

Her hair never failed to look shiny and healthy and styled exactly to be just perfect for whatever scene she was in. Even when it was supposed to look its worst, Victoria's hair looked fantastic.

The next time you watch "Dallas", take just a minute and check out Pam Ewing's hair for some pleasant reminiscing about times gone by.

December 3th, 2012

I can't believe it's already December and the Holidays will be here before you know it. As much as I enjoy Holiday shopping for my loved ones, I love, even more, when I can cross their names off my list after their gift has been bought.

One of the most important lessons I learned from my Mother was to shop early then just sit back and enjoy the holidays. I learned this lesson well, and am proud to say I've been able to cross almost everybody off the list of "Gifts to Buy".

There are several women I buy Holiday gifts for, and they were the easiest this year; I chose one of Victoria Principal's books for each of them. All of her books were best sellers, and all of them are as relevant today as they were when she wrote them.

The Body Principal, The Beauty Principal, The Diet Principal and Living Principal are all personal testimonies to Victoria's total commitment to living well and sharing her knowledge and experience with us her fans.

So get out there if you haven't already started your Holiday shopping and if you need any suggestions, follow my lead and your loved ones won't be disappointed on Christmas morning.

November 28th, 2012

Last night I was looking at some magazines throughout the years that featured Victoria Principal on the cover. I'm continually amazed at how beautiful she was and still is. Even though time has passed, it seems as though Miss Principal hasn't aged at all.

I've posted a few of these covers so you can see for yourself, the incredibly lovely Victoria.

Some sad news about one of Victoria's former Dallas co-stars. Larry Hagman, JR from Dallas passed away yesterday at the age of 81.

Victoria released the following quote "Larry was bigger than life... on screen and off. He is unforgettable, and irreplaceable, to millions of fans around the world, and in the hearts of each of us, who was lucky enough to know and love him. Look out God... Larry's leading the parade."

You can read the full article here.

Such a difficult time to lose a family member, Larry Hagman and his family will be in my prayers.

Thanksgiving has come and gone, but my resolve to show gratitude will continue throughout the year. While I've never lived a life of selfishness, neither have I been as aware as I am now of how truly fortunate I am.

My respect and admiration for her goes without saying, and while I don't always succeed in living up to the standards she's set for herself, it's something I continue to strive for.

I'm also thankful to have this blog to share what I know about Miss Principal and all the good she brings to her fans. Finally, I'm grateful for you, other fans of Victoria, as we all wait to see just what she's going to do next.

Happy Thanksgiving everybody!

I saw an amazing post today by Victoria. She is such an inspiration.

Victoria wrote an article stating her position against seismic testing for oil and gas in the Atlantic, unless the President reverses course "dolphins and whales will be subjected to constant dynamite-like blasts about every 10 seconds, 24-hours a day, for weeks and months on end."

You can sign a petition to ask the government to abandon seismic air gun testing here.

The cruel process involves arrays of high volume airguns that are dragged behind ships constantly firing impulses of air that are almost as loud as explosions. To Dolphins and Whales that rely on sound for feeding, communication and navigation this is a constant assault on their senses.

Victoria goes on to say, "Opening up the Atlantic Ocean to seismic exploration for offshore oil and gas would cause incredible harm to ocean wildlife like whales and dolphins and to multi-billion dollar fishing, tourism, and recreational industries that support hundreds of thousands of American jobs."

I am proud to stand with Victoria and sign the petition to protect our wildlife and Oceans. As Victoria says, "When we all stand together, we can protect the ocean."

They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. If that's true (and I believe it is) then Victoria Beckham recently flattered Victoria Principal in the most unique way.

In an obvious desire to be part of "Dallas", Miss Beckham Photoshopped herself onto pictures of the original cast, with her own face superimposed over Miss Principal's to make it appear she, and not our Victoria, was portraying Pamela Ewing.

Miss Beckham admitted to watching the show and being a fan. She Tweeted, "I always wanted to be in Dallas and here I am!!! Spot the difference with Victoria!"

She then went on to Tweet, "Hello Dallas was all a dream! Love, Victoria Principal Beckham x vpb."

The best part about this show of envy is that it's all in good fun. Thank you to both Victorias for giving me another reason to smile today.

I had an unexpected treat today. I turned on my TV and not only was it tuned to a channel which happened to be showing the 1974 blockbuster "Earthquake", but who should coincidentally be on the screen at that very moment but Victoria Principal. Even in a supporting role I found myself captivated by her and watched the entire movie.

Miss Principal has a way of doing that, and the way she can just pull a person in seems effortless. She's the very definition of charismatic and I never get tired of watching her perform.

"Earthquake" is an oldie but goodie. Thank you, Victoria Principal, for reminding me about this groundbreaking film from my past.

Victoria was raised in a military family with her father, Victor Principal (after whom Victoria was named) serving in the United States Air Force. My own father served in the Army during WWII and my husband served two tours of duty in Vietnam with the Army then joined the Navy during peace time. My brother is currently in the Coast Guard.

I'm sure Miss Principal will take time today to remember those veterans who served in the military and in many cases, gave their last full measure of devotion for our country. She is already doing so much for military families with a loved one in a war zone by fully funding camps for their children to spend time with therapy dogs.

God Bless our Armed Forces and God Bless the United States of America.

I don't know if this is true or not, but I read somewhere that "Dallas" (the new one) is coming back for a second season. To be honest, I don't care at all since I won't be watching.

What that news DID do, however, was remind me how good Season Two of the original "Dallas" was and convinced me to get out my Season Two DVD and watch it again.

To see Pam Ewing on the screen living her glamorous and tumultuous life on Southfork is a real treat for me. I get lost in the story arcs and am easily immersed in who's doing what to whom and if they'll get caught doing it!

Victoria was a real gem in her role as Pam. When I try to think of some other actress as this iconic character, no one even comes close.

Now, I'm going to watch Season Two of the ORIGINAL "Dallas" again, the one and only "Dallas" for me.

I had a weird experience this morning. I thought for one brief, shining moment that my dream had come true.

I start every day by taking my dog, Scout, for a long walk around the lake in a nearby park. I wasn't really paying attention when I looked up and saw a woman that I knew was Victoria Principal walking her own dog. She was gorgeous. She smiled at me and I smiled back at her, still trying to catch my breath.

Common sense told me is wasn't really her. She just looked like Victoria, and she carried herself with the confidence and grace that I so respect in Miss Principal. But I know she loves exercise and I know she enjoys walking her own dog so I thought..I hoped..but it wasn't meant to be.

Maybe next time. A girl can dream.

Victoria is an amazing individual with an amazing heart. She has combined her love for animals and children and is fully funding six summer camps in California for the children of military memebers who are stationed overseas in a war zone. The camps will allow the children to interact with Therapy Dogs who help enable them to communicate the fear, anger and uncertainy they are feeling about one of their parents being in a war zone, and begin the healing process. It is an experience the children will never forget and allows the Humane Society to save more dogs by training them to be therapy dogs. Such a great story. You can follow her lead and donate Here: http://www.americanhumane.org/donate

Like the rest of the country, I'm sure Victoria Principal is watching Hurricane Sandy with great concern. One of her most prolific philanthropic interests is for the welfare of our oceans and coastal areas. If the forecasts for this tropical storm are any indication of its reality, then the northeastern section of the United States is in for quite the pounding.

Let's all keep our neighbors to the northeast in our thoughts as this "Perfect Storm" approaches.

I know I talk about "Dallas" a LOT, but it's something I'm passionate about and I want to share my enjoyment of this show and its characters with others. I'm sure everybody isn't as interested in it as I am, but that isn't going to stop me from talking and writing about it.

And I'll be honest, sometimes I wonder if "Dallas" and Victoria Principal are as good as I remember them to be. It's been a long time since I watched the series when it originally aired in 1978. I mean, a whole bunch of stuff has gone through my mind during that time. What if I imagined it to be really good when is wasn't?

So every now and then (more often than I care to admit!) I get out my DVD box set of "Dallas" and settle in to watch. Maybe I just need to assure myself that the show and its characters are still wonderful.

Then I hear that familiar theme song and the camera pans out over the Southfork Ranch and there she is - Pamela Barnes Ewing - and yeah, it doesn't take long for me to know, without a doubt, that it was all as good, or even better, than I imagine it is.

Victoria is still amazing in her role of Pam Ewing. She still brings her character to life in a way that defies my understanding. She still makes me believe, and she still makes me glad that I've been a fan all these years.

Yes, I'll continue to talk a lot about "Dallas". And that's a good thing.

October 22nd, 2012

Serendipity is a fun word, but when something serendipitous happens, it's even more fun. Once, a jelly-filled donut jumped off my plate and landed right in front of my dog. Serendipity for him! Once I found a hundred dollar bill. Serendipity for me!

These things don't happen all the time, of course, but when they do, it makes me smile and think how cool life can be when we don't even expect it.

But it did happen again the other night. I was watching an old episode of "Home Improvement" from 1994 and who should show up as a guest star but Victoria Principal.

As usual, she rocked her role and made the episode all that much more enjoyable for me. I knew Miss Principal had guested on "Home Improvement" but had never seen it. Now I can add this to my list of her work that I've watched and enjoyed.

Here's hoping we all have a serendipitous day, and if Victoria Principal is part of it, I know it'll be great.

October 18th, 2012

Fall has arrived and it's gorgeous outside! But I must say, temperatures have been dipping to a chilly "brrrrrrr" on these cool, autumn nights.

So it's not surprising that I spent last evening curled up on the couch, snuggled with my dog, munching on popcorn and watching a "Dallas" marathon.

Nothing warms me up like a good, rip-roarin' fight between Pam and Sue Ellen. Nobody could stand up for herself like Pam Ewing, and Victoria had her character down to a perfect science.

I don't know if watching Miss Principal defend Miss Ewing were my favorite parts of "Dallas", but they certainly were among the best.

Pass the popcorn please.

October 15th, 2012

My dog's name is Scout and I pretty much love him more than life itself. It's a major understatement to say I'm passionate about animals and animal welfare.

Victoria, too, is concerned for and involved in the humane treatment of our pets and all animals. One of the many charitable organizations she's involved in is the American Humane Association, and for this reason alone (well, truthfully, there are lots of reasons) I'll always be one of her biggest fans.

Victoria has said one of her favorite ways to relax and unwind is to take her dog for a long walk. It's good for her, it's good for the dog, and with results like that, everybody wins.

If you ever get the urge to donate your time, talent, or money to one of the best causes out there, please consider giving to the American Humane Association. Saving one pet won't change the world, but it surely will change the world for that one pet.

October 10th, 2012

Everybody I know is on Facebook, and everybody I know uses this social medium for fun and to keep up-to-date on friends and family. Now we have the perfect opportunity to use Facebook for a vital humane and ecological cause.

Victoria just posted an article on the "OnEarth: A Survival Guide for the Planet" community blog. In her article she explains a proposal whereby the U.S. government would conduct high-intensity seismic exploration for offshore oil and gas in the Atlantic Ocean from Florida to Delaware. Not only are these tests the gateway to off-shore drilling, it means a major inhumane assault will be thrust upon our oceans with widespread devastation to marine wildlife such as whales, dolphins, and fish.

Several years ago, Miss Principal teamed up with NRDC and Oceana in their efforts to protect our waters. Now, Victoria and these groups have created a Facebook page in hopes of having this travesty abandoned.

She is encouraging all her fans and their friends and their friends and their friends to participate by "signing" a photo petition. All we need to do is add our Facebook profile picture to the petition, which will then be sent to the Secretary of Interior. Victoria is certain that if we have enough photos, the Secretary will have to take notice and hopefully, reconsider this proposal.

ven if you're not on Facebook, you can help by signing Miss Principal's traditional-style petition. Every signature counts and will help in this crucial cause. Victoria added her photo to this petition, please add yours.

Sign the Petition

This is very exciting check out the blog post from Victoria on the NRDC blog today. She has been such a huge supporter of NRDC over the years and its so exciting to read what she has to say.

Use your facebook photo to save whales and dolphins.

Sometimes I look in the mirror and wonder if I'm doing all I can to take care of myself. I think I am, but I sure couldn't do it on my own.

Victoria sets such a good example for women of all ages to look our best and be our best. Every day she motivates me to do all I can to be proud of the way I look and feel. No, I don't know her in real life, but I often feel like we're friends because I know we're doing so many of the same things.

I read everything I can about her, I follow her career, and I know we're using the same beauty products. There's a great comfort in that, just knowing how she touches my life.

While I can't thank her personally, I can certainly thank her by way of this fan website. So, "Thank you, Victoria Principal, for being who you are."

October 2nd, 2012

Has anyone noticed the moon these past couple of nights? It's a full moon and is absolutely gorgeous. Of course, I have a special affection for the moon anyway and, my Mother tells me, "moon" was the first word I ever said.

Not surprisingly, looking at the full moon reminds me of Victoria's impending trip to outer space. I still can't believe her bravery for taking on this adventure. I imagine the training for it is very intense.

But I know Victoria gives 100% when she commits to something, so it's not surprising to me that she'll be the first woman on board when that time comes.

So the next time you look up to the sky and see a full moon looking down on you, think of Victoria Principal and how her grand sense of adventure will give her the trip of a lifetime.

There's not much to watch on TV these days. I wish there were some really intriguing dramas but, unfortunately, nothing holds my interest.

This lack of really well-done TV shows makes me miss "Dallas" the original and only "Dallas" as far as I'm concerned all that much more. I truly loved watching that show every week and more than that, I loved watching Victoria Principal.

It goes without saying that Pam Ewing was my favorite character on that show. Victoria brought her to life in a way nobody else could.

Obviously, I'm not alone with my appreciation for Miss Principal. In fact, in 1983 she earned a Golden Globe Nomination as Best Actress in a Television Series for "Dallas". That's quite an accomplishment, and an honor she'll hold forever.

Thank you, Victoria Principal, for all the enjoyment you've brought me as Pamela Barnes Ewing. You're the best.

Call me Cupid. My niece's birthday is coming up next month and her boyfriend came to me for advice on what to get her. That was easy because my niece loves jewelry more than anything. Especially pieces that are classy and also feminine.

These young people are both college students so I knew he didn't have a lot of money to spend. Still, I knew exactly what to suggest that would not only be lady-like and beautiful, but also affordable. And because they're in love, I knew it had to be special.

Hearts have always been a symbol of everlasting love, so I steered him toward the heart-stud earrings in Victoria Principal's popular line of jewelry. They have just the right balance between sweet and glamorous.

Victoria Principal is a true romantic, and this is evident in her heart-stud earrings. So from Victoria's heart to mine and to my niece from her boyfriend, this gift will show his love forever.

Hydrate! Hydrate! Hydrate!

It's hot and sunny outside and if I've learned nothing else from Victoria Principal, I've learned how vital it is to keep my skin hydrated all day long and even as I sleep at night.

I'll be the first to tell you she knows what she's talking about. I mean, just look at her! She's a walking, talking example of amazing skin care. She's absolutely stunning and looks so youthful every single day … I want what she's got!

And it's easy to get.

Every day, without fail, I apply Victoria's Daily Body Moisture Hydrating Complex with SPF 8. It's got a long name, but boy does it work. I consider it the perfect body lotion, because not only does it moisturize and soften my skin, it exfoliates dead skin which is just an extra bonus to me.

Like Victoria, my skin is happy, healthy and hydrated! Hydrated! Hydrated!

I love books. Reading has always been one of my favorite pastimes and I've discovered that the older I get, the more I enjoy it. Audio books, Kindles, Nooks … those are nice, I suppose, but when I'm reading, nothing gives me more pleasure than holding a real book in my hands. I love feeling the spine, smelling the thick paper and black ink, turning the pages one after another.

I admire anyone who can write a book, so it's even more impressive to know that Victoria Principal has written four books. "The Body Principal" topped "The New York Times Best-Seller List" for twelve weeks in the general non-fiction category. That's an exclusive club that only best-selling authors can belong to, and Miss Principal fills the bill.

Victoria's book was the first "Advice, How-To and Miscellaneous" Number One best-seller when that list debuted on January 1, 1984.

She followed that with "The Beauty Principal", "The Diet Principal", and "Living Principal". I own all these books and have read them more than once, and what makes them even more special, to me, is that they're real books.

September 10th, 2012

When Victoria Principal does something, she does it in a big way. Take, for instance, her very first film role "The Life and Times of Judge Roy Bean". It seems like most actors start out in something small, but Victoria's debut film was directed by the late, great John Huston and starred the remarkable Paul Newman. Hardly a little movie to begin Miss Principal's acting career.

Victoria's role as a young Mexican woman named Maria Elena gave her great exposure. Because of the response to her footage in the film, her role was enlarged on a daily basis by the writer, John Milius.

Soon, producers, agents and other interested parties began to show up at the remote location in Benson, Arizona where the movie was being filmed. Obviously impressed with Victoria, they were anxious to sign her up for her next film.

Victoria flew to Arizona a complete unknown in show business and when she returned to Los Angeles three months later, the commercial flight she was on was greeted by throngs of paparazzi.

If all that wasn't enough, Miss Principal earned a Golden Globe Nomination as Most Promising Newcomer for her role in "The Life and Times of Judge Roy Bean". After that, she was off and running.

Yes, Victoria certainly knows how to do something in a big way.

September 3rd, 2012

Sometimes I can barely drag myself out of bed to get ready for work. Once I'm there I always snap out of my doldrums and do my job without a second thought, but I can't even count how many mornings I'd rather just roll over and go back to sleep. Truth be told, however, I'm extremely thankful to have a job. So it's only fitting that I'll celebrate Labor Day with a grateful heart.

Victoria sets such a positive example for women, especially, as they enter the work-force, establish their careers, then continue on to be successful in society. I don't think she has ever NOT worked in her life.

When people think of Victoria, first and foremost they remember her as a famous actress . a star in movies and television whose range is unimaginable. She could portray any character given her and be totally believable. But most people don't realize she began her own production company, Victoria Principal Productions.

As if all that isn't enough, she created a self-named line of beauty and skin care products, Principal Secret, which has amassed over $1 billion in sales to date and shows no sign of slowing down.

In fact, in 1995 Victoria was named "Entertainment Business Woman of the Year" by the National Association of Women Business Owners and received an honorary degree from Drexel University's Business School.

And she didn't stop there. In 2011 Victoria launched a line of jewelry called "Keys & Hearts". Her work ethic also allowed her to become a best-selling author.

I could list more accomplishments and more accolades received by Victoria, but it's almost overwhelming to think of all she's done in her young life. She truly exemplifies the term "working woman".

August 30th, 2012

Once again, the Gulf Coast region of our country is being battered by torrential rainfall, tempestuous wind, flooding and overall devastation of our southern states.

Hurricane Isaac made landfall exactly 7 years to the date that Hurricane Katrina struck, following the very same path of the storm that nearly destroyed New Orleans and surrounding areas.

I've been glued to the TV, and no doubt Victoria is also watching with great interest and empathy for the residents who live there. She's always had a soft spot for the Gulf Shores and Panhandle area, so when such destruction hits, I assume she feels it deeply.

She has so much compassion for victims of natural disasters throughout the world, and especially those on our own soil. She's done so much for these people in the past, and I know her heart must be breaking now as she sees, yet again, what the power of unbridled weather can do.

We won't know the full effect of Hurricane Isaac until the storm has passed, and no one can predict when that will be. Until then, we can only wait and watch along with Victoria and then, again like Victoria, offer whatever we can to help.

August 27th, 2012

Victoria is an amazing actor, so I'm not surprised that she studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London, United Kingdom. Before she moved to Los Angeles in 1971 to pursue a career in acting, she attended RADA, which is regarded as one of the most renowned drama schools in the world.

Victoria's acting ability is far-reaching; she can portray any character and make it so believable that you forget she's acting and honestly find yourself totally caught up in the person she's transformed herself into.

Of course I know her characters aren't really real, but it's fun to pretend that they are. And because we do, Victoria has done her job and done it well.

August 23rd, 2012

Last night I watched a couple of "Dallas" episodes from later in the season, but still during Victoria's reign as Pam Ewing. Something jumped out at me that I've definitely noticed before, but never really gave much thought to.

While all the other actors noticeably aged during those nine years, Victoria looked the same on her last day as she did on day one. I realize TV stars have hair and make-up artists to keep them looking like their characters, but just one look at Victoria and I honestly believe she didn't even need those assists.

Victoria is one of those people who are, as they say, aging gracefully. I'm not just saying this because she's my favorite actor in the whole world, but it's a reality that just can't be denied.

Don't take my word for it. Watch early "Dallas" and late "Dallas" and you'll think it was all filmed on the same day.

August 17th, 2012

It's still hot outside, but September will be here soon, then October then November then ... well, you know how it goes. I've already started looking at my fall and winter wardrobe to see what needs to be updated.

And as I do with the change of every season, I make appropriate changes to my make-up too. I've started by taking an inventory of my lipstick. Victoria must have created her amazing Shimmer Collection with me in mind, because they complement my skin and hair color so well.

With cold weather just around the corner, I'll be trading Pink Shimmer (think of the iridescent pink found inside a seashell) and Sunset Shimmer (like the sexy beauty of a tropical sunset) for Sugarplum (just a delicate dusting of deep purple) and Bronze Shimmer (the perfect color for every season).

Victoria designed her LipTensive lipsticks with vitamins and emollients to soften and smooth my lips. That's nice, but it's the subtle shimmery hues that keep me covered year-round.

August 14th, 2012

One of my favorite TV dramas, besides "Dallas", was "The Practice", which ran from 1997 to 2004. Right in the middle of this series, in 2000, Victoria Principal guest-starred as Courtney Hansen.

That's just one of the many popular TV shows she appeared on after she left "Dallas". Others include "Just Shoot Me", "The Larry Sanders Show", "Home Improvement", "Family Guy", "Providence" and "Hawaii Five-O". Miss Principal was obviously a well-respected and often sought-after actress who appealed to a wide variety of TV viewers. She could do comedy equally as well as drama and if you'll track down these shows and watch them, you'll understand why she was . and still is . so very popular.

August 5th, 2012

Next month I'm taking a much-needed vacation to Florida. I've decided to visit the Gulf Shores area, specifically, the Panhandle region.

To be honest, I've been worried about vacationing in the Gulf since the catastrophic oil spill a couple of years ago. But I've been assured over and over that the water is clear, the beaches are white as snow, and the seafood is extraordinary.

This is due to the work of many. In no small part, Victoria contributed to the recovery effort with her generous donation of $200,000 toward the cleanup of the Gulf Coast region. Her donation brought together two huge environmental non-profits, Oceana and Natural Resources Defense Council.

Victoria also appeared with other celebrities on a CNN Larry King-sponsored telethon to support the cleanup. She answered phones and talked with donors for the entire two hours and the telethon raised over $1.8 million.

I admire Victoria Principal for so many reasons. Many of them are obvious, such as her beauty and healthy spirit. Others are not so public, such as her philanthropic work.

It's because of many people, and one of them is Victoria Principal, that I'm able to go to the beach next month and have the time of my life. Thank you, Victoria.

July 29th, 2012

I love Victoria Principal's hair. It's so healthy and shiny and full of body. I was just checking out some of Victoria's work on YouTube and came across this commercial she did for Jhirmack Shampoo in 1985.

You can see for yourself how beautiful Victoria kept her hair then, and it's just as gorgeous today.

July 24th, 2012

I love jewelry. Bracelets, necklaces, rings, earrings ... I love it all. My favorite pieces are simple and reflect my personality to a "T". I don't wear anything that is the fad of the moment or garish, and except for a couple of pieces, everything I have it totally affordable.

My most recent acquisition is from the Victoria Principal Collection. It's a 14k gold-plated feather, a symbol of grace and freedom. Not unlike Victoria herself, this gorgeous accent piece conveys beauty and subtle sophistication. Also very much like Victoria, the pendant is sweet and feminine.

I enjoy treating myself to something special for no particular reason. It's not Christmas, it's not my birthday, it's not my anniversary . but wearing my new gold feather necklace from Victoria's jewelry line makes me feel like a million bucks.

July 17th, 2012

I've been scanning the celebrity magazines and watching the entertainment shows on TV, but there haven't been any updates about the possibility of Victoria joining the cast of "Dallas". And to be honest, I have mixed feelings about whether or not I even want her to.

Sure, I was excited when the news first broke that the producers were begging her to reprise her role of Pamela Barnes Ewing, but the more I've thought about it, the more I'm not so sure.

Victoria is an amazing actress, no question about that. In fact, she's been terrific in every role she's played. But she decided to give up acting for a reason. Only Victoria knows her true reasons for stepping away from the camera, and I've always respected her privacy in that regard. She loved her time in the spotlight, but I honestly believe she enjoys her time away from all that even more.

I'll jump for joy if Victoria decides to return to "Dallas", as seeing her on my TV screen every week would be fantastic. But I'll also be happy if she chooses to decline the invitation. After all, only Victoria knows what's best for Victoria, and that's what's most important.

July 13th, 2012

I love escapist television. Anything to take me away from the struggles of daily living is my friend. I've been this way for as long as I can remember, and the other day I was thinking back on some of the old TV shows I used to watch.

"Fantasy Island" jumped to the head of the line. I mean, it's even got the word 'fantasy' in the title, so how could you go wrong? And it didn't disappoint, week after week.

vMy favorite episode of "Fantasy Island" was the very first show. That's when we were introduced to Mr. Roarke and Tattoo and saw the island itself.

That's also when Victoria Principal made her appearance on this most classic of all escapist television shows. The year was 1977 and Victoria was a knock-out. She still is, of course, and always will be, but there was something about seeing her with that gorgeous backdrop of the island.

The list of stars who made guest appearances on "Fantasy Island" is long, but no one stays in my mind all these years like Miss Victoria Principal.

July 9th, 2012

Hot enough for ya? I can't begin to tell you how many times I've heard that in the past week. Temperatures have been in the 3 digits for days now and breaking records all over the country. Yesterday, the city in which I live had the distinct honor of being the hottest place in the United States . 111 degrees.

It goes without saying that we should NEVER leave our young children in the car alone while we go into a store, a bank or anywhere, even if for "just a minute" in this kind of heat. The chances that they will die is unbelievably high as the temperature soars in seconds.

Pets are no exception. Victoria loves her dog, just as I adore mine. I'm sure she would want to remind all her fans to be equally diligent in not leaving our pets in the car unattended. They, too, will succumb to the heat and none of us want that.

So please, during this time of record-breaking, 100+ degree temps all across the country, remember to leave the kids and dogs at home where it's cool, or take them inside the store with you it could be the difference between life and death.

July 4th, 2012

The 4th of July is on a Wednesday this year. I think it should always be on a Friday or a Monday so we get that 3-day weekend, but that's just me. Actually, it's probably not just me, but that's neither here nor there.

So, what are you doing for the holiday? I've got something wonderful planned. I'm going to have a "Dallas" marathon in my own living room. And you should know by now that I mean the original "Dallas", the one starring Victoria Principal.

I've invited a couple of friends over and we're going to do it up right. We're going to start with Season 1, Episode 1 and watch until we can't keep our eyes open. I'm serving hot dogs, baked beans, potato salad, strawberry shortcake and watermelon ... the exact meal I'm sure the signers of the Declaration of Independence ate.

Between seasons of "Dallas" we'll go outside and light our sparklers and be truly thankful we live in the United States. Then back inside for more of Pam Ewing! Could "Dallas" be any more American?

Happy 4th of July everybody!

July 3rd, 2012

With the 4th of July coming up tomorrow I want to wish all of you Victoria fans a safe and happy holiday! To ring in the red, white and blue here are some great shots of Victoria in red white and blue for the Battle of the Network Stars.

Konnichiwa!

Bet you didn't know I spoke Japanese. Well, you'd be right, because that and a couple more words are the sum total of my experience with this beautiful, ancient language.

Not so for Victoria. She was born in Fukuoka, Japan when her father was stationed there while serving in the United States Air Force. Because he was in the military, her family moved around a lot when she was a child. Victoria spent time during her formative years not only in Japan, but in London, Puerto Rico, Florida, Massachusetts and Georgia, among other places around the world.

She eventually settled in Malibu, California as an adult and now owns homes there, in Big Sur, California and in Switzerland.

Victoria's extensive travel has made her a true "woman of the world" and this is evident by her love of all places, far and near. Her concern for our planet stretches literally from ocean to ocean with numerous points in-between. To say she has "be there, done that" is a major understatement.

I do what I can I recycle, eat locally grown food, pull the plugs on appliances I'm not using, and try to go green whenever I can but my efforts in no way compare to the difference Victoria makes and brings to the forefront.

Still, I firmly believe that if we all follow her example to the very best of our ability, this world will be a better place. How about it?

June 26nd, 2012

Will she or won't she? That's the "big question", and it appears a LOT of us Victoria Principal fans are hoping she WILL.

Producers of the new "Dallas", a remake of the original which aired in 1978, are begging Victoria to join the cast of the current series. Since her character, Pam Ewing, had a terminal illness and left her family to die in peace, it would definitely take some clever script writing to reprise her role. But it seems that's exactly what they want to do.

Whether or not Victoria will agree to returning, even in a limited capacity, is up in the air.

Victoria is an amazing actor, but several years ago she chose to step away from the camera to concentrate on her exceedingly successful skincare line, Principal Secret. Producers are so determined to have her back on the show that they told her they'll work around her schedule to accommodate the auspicious businesswoman. Victoria lives in and runs her empire out of Los Angeles, while "Dallas" is filmed in Dallas, Texas which again would require some finagling. But if the producers really want Victoria back, and it's quite obvious that they do, then they'll make it happen.

Let's hope Victoria's answer comes soon and that she says YES!

I just watched "Dallas". No, not that one. I watched the REAL one, the one starring Victoria Principal. These original episodes of "Dallas" are the memories I want to keep of that wonderful show.

I absolutely love the one-of-a-kind character created by Victoria. Her portrayal of Pamela Barnes Ewing intrigues me as much today as it did when it originally aired. Besides being an accomplished businesswoman, producer, author and philanthropist, Victoria is an amazing actress.

She'll always be Pam Ewing to me and she'll always be the star of "Dallas" in my eyes.

Today is Wednesday, June 20, 2012. Also known as the Summer Solstice, today is the longest day of the year. I happen to have been born during the Winter Solstice, which is the shortest day of the year, but that's another story.

Today also marks spring evolving into summer. Sounds simple, but it's actually an amazing phenomenon.

Victoria's respect for our planet is as immense as the universe itself. During this changing of the seasons she likes to remind us that we have limited resources here on Earth and we must take great care with all she has given us.

Victoria wants us to know that we can make a difference in our world if we only take the time and effort to learn how, and then put this knowledge into practice.

The cyclical design of nature is an amazing thing. Let's do what Victoria does as we enjoy the beginning of summer, and that is love our Earth, honor our Earth, and keep our Earth as magnificent as only she can be.

June 16th, 2012

Wildfires continue to rage in northern Colorado with more homes lost, more people evacuated, and more animals killed or displaced from their familiar surroundings. Environmental tragedies like this just break my heart.

Not surprisingly, Victoria feels enormous compassion for those affected by these natural disasters. Whole family's lives are changed forever, property is destroyed, and forest animals have lost their homes and lives in the fire.

Victoria selflessly provided assistance to those in need after the 2008 California wildfires. She routinely gives aid in other times of great personal loss, such as the cleanup effort in the Gulf Coast region after the oil spill two years ago.

Victoria's philanthropic work is admirable, and I wish more people who are able to help would follow her lead. Recovery from these horrific events is long and arduous, and she knows this all too well.

Victoria's heart is always in the right place, and I know her heart is in Colorado as the fires rage on.

June 14th, 2012

So I just watched the the TNT continuation of Dallas, or I should say I watched the first hour and 10 minutes before I had to turn it off. It is dreadful, I used to have hope that Victoria would come back and rescue this show, but I don't know if it will last long enough for her to rescue. I saw this scathing review in USA Today this morning and I should have followed its advice and just avoided this reboot all together.

"Forget Dallas; they should have called it Thebes. You can find mummies who look fresher than this mold-encrusted relic, and who have newer ideas in their empty, embalmed heads. Not, of course, that this embarrassing throwback has any idea to offer beyond a desire to cash in on the standard-setting success of the CBS original in the 1980s." USA Today

I put on the classic Victoria Principal movie Earthquake this weekend. Victoria is really amazing in the movie and her hair is so cool! I encourage you all to check it out again!

June 9th, 2012

I was just thinking of one of my favorite Victoria Principal quotes today: "Everything in moderation".

Victoria has chosen to live purposefully, enjoying all the pleasures life has to offer without over-indulging OR restricting herself. Her wisdom with respect to what she needs and what she wants has given her an inner peace that those of us not as attuned to what's really important may only hope for.

I want that mantra for my life. I want to be content the way Victoria Principal is. "Everything in moderation." Truly words to live by.

June 5th, 2012

Hi everyone, I've been on such a Dallas kick lately. Victoria is truly amazing as Pam Ewing. I can't get enough!! Here are some screenshots I grabbed. I can't wait to share more! Also as a bonus a cover I was emailed recently and had never seen! I love it when you guys send me shots I've never seen.

May 29th, 2012

I hope you all had a great Memorial Day weekend! I spent some time outdoors but then also found some extra time to watch some episodes of Dallas. I can't believe they are going to try and bring Dallas back without Victoria Principal as Pam Ewing. It is going to be a disaster. The original Dallas went downhill so fast once Victoria left. I predict this Dallas will start off strong since people will be curious and it will then fizzle fast unless they get Victoria to comeback as Pam Ewing.

May 25th, 2012

Springtime just naturally beckons people outdoors, and my yoga instructor, Ben, is no exception. Because we're obedient students, we follow him to the park and settle onto the cool green grass for our class. I love it!

I study Hatha yoga, which is the practice of moving, stretching and freeing the body so it can be a healthy, long-lived and vital instrument of the mind and soul, a means of health and vitality. These poses encourage flexibility, strength and an inner peace that needs to be experienced to be believed.

When I'm outdoors practicing my yoga, the Sun Salutation takes on a whole new meaning for me; I'm renewed, inspired and comfortably settled into my body and mind.

Victoria practices yoga as part of her beauty routine. It's common knowledge that exercise tones, lengthens and strengthens and with that comes the youthful appearance most of us strive to attain. One look at Victoria Principal and it's obvious she's reached that pinnacle.

I don't pretend to have achieved what Victoria has, but I know if I continue my yoga classes on a regular basis, I'll be headed in the right direction.

And as long as Ben lets us practice our poses in the great outdoors, I'll be one happy yogi.

Saddened to hear about Robin Gibbs passing today. I know Victoria's heart never left Andy and this must be a difficult time. Robin was so talented. Prayers to the family.

Do you remember what you were doing on April 2, 1978? I don't recall much about that day, but I know, without a doubt, that I watched the premiere of "Dallas" that night. I recently re-watched it and it was just as fascinating this time around as it was when I first saw it.

When "Dallas" first aired is when I became a Victoria Principal fan. I must admit, I wasn't very familiar with her before then, but I've made up for it since then. She was absolutely, breath-takingly gorgeous as Pam Ewing. Of course, she's still just as beautiful, but when I first saw her on the screen, I was hooked.

Victoria/Pam was a newlywed when she first arrived at Southfork Ranch, and she wasn't exactly welcomed with open arms by her in-laws. Once there, the lying and underhandedness quickly began, with Pam being the target of a set-up that put her in a compromising position with her ex-lover, Ray Krebbs. He playfully pushed her in the lake and, of course, they had to take off their clothes to dry in the little cabin near by.

But Pam was just as smart as her new brother-in-law, J.R. Ewing, and turned the tables on him to save her reputation with her husband, Bobby.

I loved "Dallas" then and I love "Dallas" now. I love the clothes and I love the hair. It was "appointment TV", although that phrase didn't even exist then. Victoria gave Pam such a dynamic personality that I couldn't wait for the following week to see what she would do next. And she didn't disappoint. Thank you, Victoria, for giving us Pam Ewing.

HAPPY Belated MOTHER'S DAY TO MOTHERS EVERYWHERE! Ninety-eight years ago President Woodrow Wilson signed a bill recognizing Mother's Day as a national holiday. I wonder if he could have possibly imagined that this second Sunday in May would become one of the most popular days ever to dine out, phone home, send flowers and cards and give gifts, all to honor our Moms.

As for my own Mother, I couldn't decide which Victoria Principal book to give her on this day. I finally decided on "Living Principal: Looking and Feeling Your Best at Every Age". Victoria's own personal program for living youthfully, no matter how old we are, and maturing healthfully. Don't you love that? Maturing healthfully is Victoria's way of saying "aging gracefully", but it sounds so much better.

"Living Principal" doesn't concern itself with just physical beauty, but encourages women to give real attention to our souls, and she even outlines how this can be accomplished. I'm hoping her daily "Ten Minutes of Joy" will bring the same positive influences to my Mother as it's brought to me.

That said, HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to all the Moms out there. Enjoy!

May 10th, 2012

Mother's Day is May 13th and I've got an important decision to make . which one of Victoria Principal's fantastic books to buy for my Mom.

In case you're not familiar with her work, she's written "The Body Principal", "The Beauty Principal", "The Diet Principal" and most recently, "Living Principal: Looking and Feeling Your Best at Every Age".

I've read them all and have learned from them all and am leaning toward "Living Principal". Then again . decisions, decisions.

Happy Derby Day! Saturday, May 5th is the 138th Run for the Roses at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky and I'm going to be there. Every year, a group of us take a road trip to Louisville and enjoy all the festivities leading up to the race, known as the Greatest Two Minutes in Sports.

Get this: in an earlier race, there was an entry named Vicki's Pride. Of course I placed a little bet on him, but unfortunately he lost

I saw the Pegasus Parade and the Great Steamboat Race and am betting Daddy Long Legs will be the thoroughbred to beat. At post time I'll be in the Infield, taking in the amazing sights.

Just recently I've started wearing a big floppy hat while I'm in that hot sun for hours and hours. I also slather on sunscreen and drink lots of water. I've got to give credit to the influence of Victoria Principal for getting serious about what my skin looks and feels like, but more importantly, knowing that it's healthy. She gives good, practical advice and I'm glad I follow it. And I'm glad to be in Louisville. See you at the races!

Taking a day trip to the edge of space ... what a concept. A concept I can't even begin to imagine, but one that Victoria Principal can not only imagine, but has bought a ticket to experience.

I can only salute her for her bravery and her pioneer spirit. She was the first woman to sign up when it was announced that the VSS Enterprise would be the first commercial passenger spacecraft. It sounds so weird to even write that.

Victoria told People magazine, "Going into space fulfills many desires I have of seeing the planet, going fast, going someplace very few people have been - and hopefully coming back down!"

I soooo can't wait for the book she'll hopefully write when she comes back to Earth. This will be one of the most significant moments in history, and Victoria will be in the front row.

May 1st, 2012

I'm not ashamed to admit that I'm a Tree Hugger. Victoria and I share the same passion when it comes to helping nature heal our cities.

Her involvement in TreePeople is an inspiration to Los Angelians to take personal responsibility for our environment. We can and will make our neighborhoods safe, healthy, fun and sustainable and set a positive example to the rest of the world.

TreePeople's 2nd Annual Green City Fair will take place this Saturday, May 5th from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 12601 Mulholland Drive in Beverly Hills.

You can learn more here:Green City Fair 2012

For you Fan's that live in Los Angeles you should follow Victoria's lead and attend the Fair and help make L.A. the best city in the world.

April 25th, 2012

I was looking through a some of the many covers Victoria has been on over the years and here are two amazing ones from People magazine. It is unbelievable how many covers Victoria has graced over the years and I'm confident there will be many more in the coming years.

April 22nd, 2012

Happy Earth Day! Today is a day to be more aware and appreciative of the world around you. This is something Victoria is always speaking about and leading by example. Lets all follow in her footsteps and take a time out of your busy day to appreciate the world around you. Its really quite amazing when you take the time to notice. Here is a recent quote from Victoria about the Earth. Think about this every day!

"My deepest concern is for the planet and every living thing on it. Without a healthy planet, education won't matter, hunger won't matter and science won't matter because we will not survive. Unless we rectify the damage we have done to our land and our oceans, then I truly believe, the planet will reclaim itself. If it is true that you reap what you sow, then all of humanity should be very frightened. "

April 19th, 2012

I just saw this poll asking if Victoria should come back to the new Dallas. Like I've been saying for months this show will be a disaster if they don't bring Victoria back and obviously the fans agree. This site isn't as popular with the true Dallas fans and Victoria still got a whopping 70% saying they want her back. It will be very interesting to see what happens. I predict the show won't last unless they get Victoria to come back.

April 17th, 2012

I watched some episodes of Dallas last night. Victoria's performances always amaze me. She is such a force in every episode.

April 16th, 2012

Some sad news this weekend. I read that Robin Gibb of the Bee Gees and brother of Andy Gibb is now in a coma and very close to death. I'm sure that Victoria is keeping Robin and the surviving members of the Gibb family in her thoughts and prayers as we all should as well.

April 11th, 2012

I wanted to share this article featuring Victoria Principal from the Huffington Post again there is a great quote about what Victoria is most passionate about and she talks about her love of the planet, very inspiring:

April 5th, 2012

Just watched a few amazing performances by Victoria on some old Dallas episodes. She is really a force on that show. It is shocking they think they can bring Dallas back without her.

April 2nd, 2012

Hi I'm sure most of you know that Earth Day is April 22nd, but there is so much interest in the environment now that April has really become a sort of Earth Month. Victoria Principal is such a force in so many environmental causes and is a huge inspiration to me as I try to give back and do more for the planet this year. I hope you all can follow her example and try to do something for the planet this month. Start small, use reuseable grocery bags, or recycle your cans and bottles if you don't already. Feel free to email me and maybe I'll compile all the things us Victoria Principal Fans are doing to help the planet.

March 29th, 2012

This didn't take long, there are a bunch of articles today saying that Victoria has an open invitation to come back to the Dallas reboot. I'm sure they realized after testing the show with audiences there was no way they would make it without bringing Victoria back as Pam Ewing. They should have learned this from watching what happened when Victoria left the original.

March 28th, 2012

I spent a lazy weekend watching the lovely Victoria Principal on episodes of Dallas. She is amazing. I suggest all of you get your hands on some of the old DVDs. Season 3 is probably my favorite right now but that may change:)

March 20th, 2012

There is an amazing article and interview with Victoria that came out on the Huffington Post today. I encourage you all to check it out.

Victoria Principal - Huffington Post

What social or political cause are you most passionate about?

My deepest concern is for the planet and every living thing on it. Without a healthy planet, education won't matter, hunger won't matter and science won't matter because we will not survive. Unless we rectify the damage we have done to our land and our oceans, then I truly believe, the planet will reclaim itself.

What is your greatest accomplishment?

Lobbying for 11 years as the ambassador to the government for the Arthritis Foundation. In the 11th year, with the help and support of many other people, I was able to participate in establishing a federal fund in the National Institutes of Health for all autoimmune diseases, such as arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, scleroderma and many more.

Today is a sad day it marks the 24th anniversary of Andy Gibb's Death. He would have turned 54 years old earlier this week. In interviews Victoria has said that Andy was the love of her life and had he lived they would have certainly got back together. So awful to lose such an amazing talent at such a young age. Andy you are missed and in all of our thoughts and prayers today.

March 5th, 2012

One of Andy Gibb's fans sent us this photo today. Today would have been Andy's 54th birthday had he not tragically died in 1988. Well when one of his fans went to his grave site today to pay their respects on his birthday they found 11 Red Roses and 1 White Rose. We have been chatting all day trying to figure out the meaning of the 11 Red and 1 White Rose and are completely stumped. The only thing we know is it's obvious Victoria still cares for Andy a great deal. So tragic, she lost the love of her life at such a young age.

UPDATE: We've had a few other fans let us know they have seen the same 11 Red Roses and 1 White in previous years so it must be something Victoria does every year on his birthday.

March 5th, 2012

I watched The Burden of Proof again today. What an amazing performance by Victoria. This movie is really hard to find, I'm hoping it gets added to Netflix soon. If I find a place to purchase on amazon I'll let you know. Lets get this movie re-released.

February 27th, 2012

I have been on a Dallas marathon the last few days. Some many great performances by Victoria. She was truly amazing on the show. Here are a couple of screenshots I grabbed for your pleasure :)

January 10th, 2012

WOW look at this article from the National Enquirer. We all wondered who the mystery man with Victoria was and now we know his name is Rick Osborn and he's a photographer. He also has a yacht he named after Victoria called "Lady V", how romantic. Its so good to see Victoria out and enjoying herself!

January 8th, 2012

So 2012 is now in full swing. I thought about resolutions this past week and decided what better way to honor Victoria than to follow in her footsteps. Victoria has faught so hard to protect and better the environment. So in 2012 I am using her as an example. I know us fans may not be able to give in monetary ways but Victoria has shown that there are many other ways to give. Not only in her generous donations but recall the work she did after the LA fires, the trees she planted in Malibu and what she did at Tree People.

So this year my resolution will be small things to help the environment. First 2 orders of business plant a small garden with something that I can eat, like Victoria's lemon tree and to buy a reusable bag. What will you do in 2012?

January 6th, 2011

I feel so awful, my entire family and I came down with an illness this week and I just couldn't post anything. In the process I missed Victoria's Birthday. Many of you had emailed me wondering why I hadn't made a post for her birthday and I apologize. I know you all sent her your love. We wish her a happy and healthy year and many great things to come. She was so successful this past year and did such amazing things for the planet this year, I can't wait to see how she tops it now, which I'm sure she will. Also Victoria does something exciting on her birthday every year, I hope we find out what it was this year! Victoria, Happy Belated Birthday from all your Fans!!!
